1. You need to set the person's flag too (People ID in AM).
2. The fadescreen command will do.
3. Check the XSE built-in guide from the Help menu.

Last, but not the least, don't forget to decompile in-game scripts and see how they work. You'll probably learn more than reading some tutorials.

BTW, you should just learn XSE scripting. You'll have a better outcome and will get through scripting faster if you just use XSE. Just a suggestion. I already told DSQ about this, but just saying. ^_^
