You go on to imageshack, log in or sign up, open a paint file or whatever your drawing program is, make it smaller, save it, go back to imageshack and it should be on Media Upload. Select the file you want to upload, change the size to avatar, and upload. If your logged in it should have a button that says "full size". Press it. Copy the url on the search bar, and paste it on the avatar change area where it says custom avatar in the url section. Press save changes and presto! You have a new custom avatar! Hope I helped! You can't just copy them directly but it's still almost as easy. Save the image to your computer and upload it in the internet. This is the site I use: http://tinypic.com/ (there's some others like Photobucket, Imageshack, etc.)
After you have uploaded the image, you just have to copy the image code that it gives to you and put it in your post.

It's best if you show off your work.

Yeah, you need to make a few frames of the avatar, then animate the picture on Photoshop. It takes patience to make an avatar like that.

You need to save your file in JPG or PNG format. Paint normally saves files in bitmap format, which is not an acceptable file format here. On Paint, go to file > Save As > At "Save As Type" Click on that bar, and find either JPG or PNG. Click save and you're done!

I came to your profile to help you with your avatar, but it appears Meganium90 beat me to it :P

Click on User CP > then click on "Edit Avatar". You have the choice to either upload an avatar of your own, or select one of the avatars provided by the site. ;)
