I saw your post in the Time Warp thread and here's the answers you needed:

Starters do fall under the typing ban, but you're allowed to use them until you get your first era Pokémon (ideally, before the second Gym)
As for the Lost rule....you start getting lost the moment you get your first badge. so after you got your first badge, you have to pick another Era and go by that era's rules and use one of the pokemon of said era until you reach the second Gym. After you use the temporary Pokémon in the Gym battle, you shift to a different Era and the same stuff as before happens.

As for the Great Depression Era, I think I could fit it after the Progression Era at some point.
