I highly doubt Game Freak hired him.

I do, however, believe that he got sued for a number of reasons, and I can't even begin to count how many.

But, here's some: He used "Ash Ketchum" in his ROM Hack, he technically removed the Game Freak copyright in the title screen, used many (too many) aspects of the Anime in the ROM Hack, all of which are highly illegal. Don't remove or replace the Game Freak copyright on the title screen. Seriously. EVER. That's just asking for a lawsuit.

Game Freak either sued this guy or hired him. lol Losing files story is such a blatant pretext.

Hey metapod23 please give us atleast some informations if you are going to update this game or not. I really want this game to finish. I know you have lost the files of this game. But please give us atleast some informations about completing the game or not. If you are unable to do it you can just pass this hack to the fans. It would be great if the hack continues upto gen 7 of ash's story.

I'm really sad that you've lost your files. And I was really looking forward to orange league's end too, that sucks. I wonder if there's a possibility that you could confer the permission of continuing Ash Gray hack on fans so that they could continue the work where you have left off, who knows maybe they could even go into johto?

Sorry to inform you people but I metapod23 have lost all my progress on allof my coding so there will not be anymore of Pokemon Ash Gray for a long time. My computer had caught on fire so I had to throw it out. Even then I tried getting all my files but it was all corrupted and most lost. So... I might start a new game after a very long time. And if you're wondering why i didn't use my metapod23 account I lost the password as it was all saved on my computer.
