  • Yeah, a shame really. I'd like to start SS over again but since I have too much save data (like friend rosters and shiny Pokemon) I really can't reset it. And I usually have Starmie or Lapras as my resident Johto Water Pokemon.

No, so get to hoping and praying you never end up with a guy like him. But if you do get nice professors, they often have interesting stories to tell... I even went to party with one when he celebrated his 15th year of teaching at our school :)

It's awesome, right? I can tolerate cats, but I just think we play it safe and not have any in the house. If I visit friends with pets, it's not as bad as I used to be when I was young.

Back when we lived in the city, we would get around 50-60 every Halloween. Now, we're down to zero. It really sucks because we don't do anything for Halloween yet we go all out for Christmas, which isn't nearly as exciting. I mean, you can't cosplay in public at Christmas:/ And I was flat-out told I could NOT go to any parties, which I'm kinda mad about...

I do most of mine myself so I don;t know how our shops operate. But I'm sure you can find someone who can make exactly what you want :)

Yay! And yeah, I figured that the two of the would get together eventually :)

Well, another cold, nasty day up here in the middle of nowhere... hopefully things are better where you are xD
Yep, Surf is the most useful of those moves IMO. I've never actually used Red Gyarados in battle, considering how I usually have my resident Water-type on my team by the time I meet it... it is fairly late in the game...

Well to be fair, I've also had young ones who were good and older ones who were horrible... worst one was probably the guy who was old AND couldn't speak English AND assigned ridiculous amounts of homework... imagine having to do a 15 page paper each week, only these papers were mostly math equations... ugh... hated that guy. But, back to the professor I liked, I did often have chats with him outside of class and he was a pretty cool guy.

Metagross is another personal fave (how you'd know that, lol?). Agility and Meteor Mash dominate everything xD Sadly I can't have pets due to my many allergies, but if I could, I'd want a cute little kitty, no doubt :)

We're still baffled as to who it was... according to our waitress, the mystery people said we were "new neighbors" but we can't figure out who it is. Oh well, thanks for my birthday dinner, Mystery Neighbor xD

I usually use my cosplay outfits for costumes. It gives me an excuse to wear them in a non-convention setting. Sadly, I don't think I'll even be dressing up... it'd probably freak out the parents and we're so isolated I don't think we'll have any visitors to the house anyway...

Yup, that was a set too. Lots of people coordinate their avatar and signature into what is called a "theme." It's quite cool :)
Same here with all the water-based HM's... that what Red Gyarados was for in SS. Sadly, i don't think he could learn Rock Climb...

True :) She'll just have access to cooler toys in the sequel :)

Teachers can really vary in quality. I had this math professor for about three classes, he was like 67 years old but he was the BEST professor I have ever had. Meanwhile I've had younger ones who couldn't teach their way out of a paper bag... You'll encounter many more foreign teachers in college... especially if your major involves anything related to computers, math, or science. Trust me, they LOVE to hire foreigners.

Yeah, hard for me to choose one type as my absolute favorite. But what I like is that Flygon has both my Ground and Dragon bases covered, and in Platinum he was also my makeshift Fire-type with Fire Punch :) I like cats, even IRL. They're so cute :) And I suffered through that route because I'm a compulsive completionist xD

Thanks! My day was pretty good considering being in the middle of nowhere :) A mysterious stranger even covered our food bill at the restaurant for us xD Can't wait for Lisa!

Yep, I had a good run of Halloween parties and sweeping the costume contests, lol. Maybe next year I'll have a job and can get back into the Halloween groove :P

Excellent! Hope all goes well! And thanks! I thought I changed it at the same time as my signature (they're supposed to be a set) but I guess the change didn't register so I had to do it today.
Yeah, I know, especially since I don't use so-called "HM slaves". Having to teach my resident Water-type multiple Water type HMs was ridiculous... there's no reason why I need to have Surf, Waterfall, and Dive/Whirlpool on the same Pokemon... And yeah, I would've liked to have her in 1st gen... in fact, have the male/female option available from the start :)

After you finish the big one, you'll see what Lisa's been up to lately :) Some parts of her will never change, though :P

Well, they hire too many from foreign countries because they do research, but they can't teach worth anything. Sometimes, it's hard enough to understand the topic when someone who speaks English teaches it; if the professor can't do that, then you pretty much are left to self-teaching the material... and some of it can get really difficult. I mean, I was top of my class in high school, but college was a big wake-up call, lol

Usually in the games I have a preferred starter that I'll always choose. And I really don't have a favorite type, but I try to have Ground. Water, and Electric covered for each of my teams. As well as whoever the resident cat Pokemon is :) If they do remake those games, I do hope they at least get rid of the currents. They really did serve no purpose. As for cities... I actually like North and South Carolina's the best, lol

Just another good meal out, and I might be online the entire day instead of popping in and out like I typically do. But my college routine would involve a visit to the mall and usually a Halloween party. Sadly, neither looks like it will be an option this year. Once again... stupid wilderness...

Lucky! It's freaking SNOWING here if you can believe that! Ugh... Hate snow. Hated it when I was a kid, and I probably hate it even more now...
Yeah, just incredibly tedious... no reason why Rock Climb even needed to be in the game. And if Leaf could make her big comeback in 6th gen, I'd love that :) It would be great to see her on the 3DS or Wii.

Too bad she's still too young to drive... and she can't really drive on a Pokemon journey anyway. But just wait till you read the sequel, when she is driving...

Yeah, I've had a few teachers who were really good, but way too many of them who just regurgitated what was in the book... and as I got into upper grades of college, I got stuck with more and more professors who couldn't speak English to savew their lives... which didn't make things any better, needless to say.

Yes, Flygon's awesome... I use one on my main team as well. And in LG I picked Squirtle. It's always been my go-to Pokemon in that game. I liked the Hoenn games when they first came out, but at least for me they haven't aged well. I hated doing that one water route with the currents where you'd have to go back and forth a dozen times just to collect everything and fight everyone. I didn't think the characters had much personality either, and some of the cities were just... weird.

Nope, I treated myself to a *fairly nice* sit down restaurant meal :) It was definitely worth it!

But wow, over the past week it has gotten MUCH colder here... and I'm not liking that one bit:/
I know... making it through Mt. Silver was harder than the battle itself, with all that having to do Rock Climb... Well, I don't think it's possible to be intimidating at all when you use a lousy Pikachu... Well, maybe Leaf will pop up in the future, we can always hope :)

Little girl + big car = awesome :)

True, there's less professor-student interaction in college, especially for those huge science class lectures where there's 100+ students per class in a big auditorium. Those classes it really pretty much is everyone for themself.

Cool, keep me updated on the story. Meanwhile I just finished creaming Brock, though progress over the next few days is gonna be slow. Don't think I'd want to play Sapphire again, though... or any remakes thereof. All the water was just too much... it was almost like Team Aqua already claimed victory, and there's only so many times you can see the same speedo-wearing swimmers before you start getting fed up:/

Good luck on the interview! And getting out was a nice change, but that mall REALLY needs better stores. At least I got a decent lunch for a change :)
Yeah, I definitely like to pig out sometimes :) And be careful... college does have a way of making students forget about their eating habits... ever hear of the "freshman 15"?

I know she'd make a better final opponent than Red... I creamed him quite easily in SS. And it's such a shame that the best looking trainer in the games is also the most overlooked. I don't understand Red's popularity, I really don't. And seeing Leaf thrown to the curb in the remakes just made me angry.

That's awesome :) I like going to car shows too, the older cars are just so beautiful. Too bad there aren't too many around my parts... just like there isn't too much of anything. Those are the type of cars Lisa's into, BTW.

Well, either that or help me find a job so I can move out. I don't think there's any chance of them moving anywhere decent, sadly... I was definitely social while in school, which is why my current situation is such a shock to me.

That doesn't even qualify as a snack... and don't even bring up small-size fries. I don't know how that could be enough fries for anyone... not even kids. When I was young I was always complaining about not being enough food in those meals... and these days I only eat more food.

I could listen and dance to Miror B.'s theme all day long :) Ein was another favorite of mine since he's, well... a scientist, and scientists are cool. Rest assured he'll play a pivotal role in my story. What specific role that is, though, remains to be seen :) How are you doing as far as reading it, BTW?

Well, didn't get anything at the mall (which doesn't have a great variety of stores; no bookstore or store where I can buy anime DVD's), but I am about $30 richer since I sold back some old video games and DVD's... including Pokemon White. I honestly hadn't touched that game since June, it just completely lost my interest. Meanwhile, in LG, I'm training in Viridian Forest :)

It was a cold miserable day, but at least I actually got to go somewhere, which by itself is good. How was your day?
LOL, I actually would like to put on some weight, I'm quite skinny... But yeah, that much weight gain can't be good all at once...

I've always said that the DS Dual Slot should have been able to read your FR/LG cartridge and base the final boss in Mt. Silver based on your character and team in your FR/LG game file. But it seems the developers were too lazy for that:/ And I'll have to send it to you sometime :)

No, it's basically my parents who like living out here, because they don't have a social life, and I'm stuck without a social life because I can't find work and have to live back home, and I really don't want to go to college for another four years and further rack up those loans... This type of area should be unsuitable for human habitation...

Yeah, I am a bit of a car person (so much that I thought the Unova region was named after the Chevy Nova, a car they haven't built in over 20 years), and I definitely like the classics... Plus I'd rather have all that room and comfort and give up a bit in economy and handling... it5's not like I'm gonna go racing in my 2-ton '84 Oldsmobile, lol

Ugh... when I was 10, I realized that kids meals don't fill you up. I can't stand not eating out, but not getting enough food is even worse...

Those games were great, and I like how the admins had, you know, personalities. Miror B. was especially awesome :)

Oh, don't worry, he's going down!

And as one more note, I'll be gone to the city that's an hour away (yay!) for most of the day tomorrow, so I'll probably be gone till early evening. Just in case I don't get back to you right away.

    Okay, bye!
I'm still actually thin despite my diet of mostly fried junk food... and I'm not that physically active either. Go figure.

Yeah, better not to... I'm definitely not a shipping person and the whole sub-culture of that in Pokemon just baffles me. I still can't believe they never gave Leaf a chance in HG/SS, and it is THE biggest disappointment in those games. Every time I see someone draw Leaf and you-know-who in a fanart together, a little piece of me dies inside. The pairing makes no sense to me... why would she want to be with the one who usurped her position as Kanto champion and stole her fame and glory? You know, I wrote a short writing piece all about that...

The dillemma of course is that I don't have the money to move somewhere where I can get a job because I need money to move out on my own... which requires a job because there aren't any around here. Stupid wilderness... it should be illegal to live out here...

The exact opposite for me. If I'm in anything small on the road, I feel like I'm in danger of getting run over by other vehicles. Plus, I grew up with big vehicles all my life. And Tahoe? Where I come from, that's considered "small" lol. I'd actually want something older, like pre-1985 if possible. I like the old style cars better. As does Lisa :P

Yeah, you really can't tell your parents that they can't cook, cause otherwise you starve. Unfortunately, (a) my parents are notoriously thrifty and cut corners whenever they can, and (b) there aren't any decent restaurants for miles around. Once again... stupid wilderness...

I always did like Orre and Cipher's Admins. As for who may be involved and Ein's role in all of it, you'll just have to see :P And the name is just a coincidence, I swear, lol!

Thanks for reading! BTW, I'm thinking of playing Leaf Green through again... and naming the rival "Red" just out of spite :P
Well, I got used to not being to eat a lot of stuff, so it's not that bad :) I've never been a fan of breakfast food, too much starch and not enough meat, lol And fries should be a part of EVERY meal, as far as I'm concerned :)

I'm not one for shipping in general (and I hate it when they try to ship Blue/Leaf with that jerk Red who basically kicked her out of HG/SS... I still hate him and his stupid Pikachu for doing that...), and I'd much rather just read a regular journey story without any of that extra baggage.

Lucky you! I wish we had a mall in our backyard, but noooo, my parents had to live out in the middle of nowhere... which explains why I usually have next to nothing to do. It sucks, really, but what can you do, especially when there's no jobs to be had?

Ooh, what kind of car? I'd suggest the types of cars Lisa would like... Buick LeSabre, Lincoln Town Car... but from what I hear, those big cars aren't for everyone, lol

I can't cook to save my life. My parents *think* they can cook, and it isn't too bad, but nothing that can compare with a good meal at TGI Friday's or Applebee's. I don't know why everyone keeps talking about how home-cooked meals are so good... I'd much rather eat out.

Thanks! Glad you liked it! Hope you enjoy the rest of the story as well! Yeah, Lisa has to lose a few battles... she'll learn from the experience, though :)
With me, though, there's so much I'm allergic to... I can't eat anything with milk, eggs, or peanuts, which means most desserts are out of the question. But I would gladly eat breakfast more often if more places would serve up a nice juicy hamburger at 8 in the morning :)

LOL, it's funny because I love romance in the anime I watch, but in Pokemon fiction, I'd rather not have it... too often it just doesn't turn out all that well. Ooh, and I like the sig... I think I have that picture on my computer somewhere :)

Maybe I should apply at some stores too... except for the 45 minute commute to the nearest mall :/ It could halp me get some money since buying Christmas gifts for people is gonna put me close to bankruptcy...

Ooh, quite nice, I'm looking forward to Lisa now:) Eating out is awesome, it's why Lisa does it constantly during her journey... well, that and the fact she can't cook xD Hopefully I'll find some way to get dressed up and go out this year, like I have for the past five years in a row... If I don't it'll just seem weird :/
I like burgers, fries, fried chicken, all the greasy stuff that's bad for your health :) I'm actually not a breakfast person; I won't eat it all except at a hotel :)

Yep, I'm that one exception... that guy who writes about a female trainer! I'm the only male I know of who does this, aside from the ones who have both genders of main characters then tries to get them involved in some cheap, tacked-on romance... another part of these stories I don't like... I will say that I do have some very "girly" tastes, like in anime. And forum signatures :)

Well, that kinda sucks, but at least you won't be getting sick as much (hopefully) :) Yeah, sometimes a job doesn't work out, and since you're starting college soon, if you need to you could get a daytime job at the school...

Thanks, and I'll be looking forward to Lisa! And hopefully on my birthday I'll be going out to dinner... still no word on Halloween since there aren't any good parties going on locally :/
I would if I knew who it was, but most of the time (unless it's someone who lives on your floor) you don't and that info isn't shared with you. But I definitely wanted to do college on my own, as I was dying to have more freedom :)

Quality Inn is usually our go-to chain since they're aren't too expensive but usually fairly clean and the beds are nice. And they do have a nice continental breakfast. Free wi-fi, too :)

Definitely, I like reading about characters who are refershing and different, and usually it's the female characters who fill that role. Most males don't write female characters for these types of stories, but there are a few exceptions, and I happen to know of one. On that topic, I don't think I've told you my gender yet?

Okay, cool, let me know! And look for a PM with Lisa's description, though you can also reference the pictures of her as well.. And thanks in advance, and get well soon!

Oh, that sounds fun :) And actually this weekend was pretty much a blur... which means nothing interesting happened... man, I hate being stuck at home:/
Why thank you kind lady! (assuming you're a lady, correct me if I'm wrong lol) it's always awesome to meet a fellow Raichu lover!
Well, not so much a drill as some idiot (usually drunk) pulling an alarm or exploding a chemical like bleach or drain cleaner. It's even worse if you work in the dorm as a resident assistant and have to clean up after the mess or give a statement in the student courts. But getting away from home to go to school was definitely a rewarding experience :)

Not really, they were one of the nicer middle-priced chains, but not anything upscale. And therein lies the problem with Hyatt Place... trying to turn a medium-level hotel into something fancy doesn't always work too well. With that said we don't typically stay at fancy places... I only did as part of conferences for school clubs and such.

I never understood it either. Apparently making your character stand out makes them unrealistic. I mean, I started writing because I was fed up with how the anime handled things; why would I want to read the same thing? I mean, there are hundereds of Ash clones; why should it be when I want to introduce someone who isn't like him that I get chewed out for it? I don't deal much with the general fan fiction community because of it; I just follow those written by friends.

Okay, that's cool. What chapter are you on?

Awesome, I'm always up for more pictures of Lisa! Let me know when you want to start; I do want to give you a full written description of her :)

Ah, it's finally the weekend! Not that I have anything big, planned, but still... Oh, my birthday's in one week!
True, if you're living close enough, why bother giving the college another $2500 a semester when you can live at home and not get woken up by 3AM fire drills. Of course, living 900 miles away from college kinda made that a non-option for me, but at least I was happy being in an area where there was actually stuff going on :P Not to mention a lot warmer.

Yeah, because this was back in 2004 or so, back before Hyatt Place was even created... it was the Regency in Greenville, SC. And a bit of trivia... most of those Hyatt Place locations used to be an older chain called AmeriSuites that Hyatt bought out and renovated.

Most likely, yeah. Or some people like things to stick so close to how things work in the anime/games that it ceases to be interesting and unique... one person said that name brand restaurants and cars don't belong in the Pokemon world:/ That's the excuse used when people want to see 10-year-olds... "Well, they're 10 in the official game/TV show, so they should be 10 in your stories!" I mean, do they want every trainer to be identical? I tried to make Lisa a spoiled rich girl with smarts to give readers a unique character, but apparently that's frowned upon by some members of the writing community... These are supposed to be creative, so I don't understand that rule:/

Well, I get the pictures from elsewhere (I did recolor a picture of Blue/Leaf to match Lisa though) but I do the design, text, etc. myself. Gald you like it!
