His team won't be Gen III-geared competitively, remember that I've added some 4th and 5th Gen moves. I want to keep his team very similar to his beta Red/Green/Blue team, since the whole purpose of it is just to "restore" it.

Alakazam might be a good idea, since Alakazam is no longer part of Blue's team (replaced by Machamp). Why would I make Oak have a Dragonite? Only Lance can use those lol.

Right now I'm thinking:
Tauros
Alakazam
Exeggutor
Arcanine
Gyarados

I might just leave it at that, since his data in R/G/B/Y only has five Pokemon. I don't want him to use the starters though, since I feel like that might be overkill. I don't want his team too similar to Blue, and Oak using all three "starter substitutes" that Blue uses actually kinda helps with that because Oak would use the Pokemon that you'll only see Blue using if he had a different starter. (for instance, if Blue had Blastoise, then you'll never see him with a Gyarados, but Oak would have a Gyarados regardless).

I want Oak to only use Gen I Pokemon. Even though I'm all "NO NOSTALGIA" and "MODERNIZED!!!" and such, I just feel like Oak should have a team that was possible in the original games.

EDIT: Also let me make this clear that this will be an optional fight, and it will be postgame.

About the postgame Oak battle, that's actually a great idea. I'm quite fond of B/W and B2/W2 having super high-leveled postgame Trainer battles (I mean specifically, Cynthia, Morimoto, and N), and I don't really have anything planned like that for DarkViolet, but I may end up including it just because of your post.

Even though he gave all his starters away, I could just have his team without starters. Like, just having Tauros, Exeggutor, Arcanine, and Gyarados.

Ahh, but they're already inserted using OW Editor. I only have trouble with Battlesprites. That is.. Unless your referring to them
