After making that post I went investigating around and discovered that there was indeed a competition with only three candidates, and that Azure won via voting. Thanks for the message, I'm still new to this site so I don't really know how the other hacks here would compare to Azure Horizons.

I'm going to check out some of the other games now; do you have any recommendations for a game that doesn't follow the "classic" formula/plot like Azure does? Of course there's nothing wrong with that, but I've been playing all the original games lately and I'm trying to find something very different than the official Pokemon games.

Azure Horizons won because out of it's competition, it got one of the highest votes and it was a lot better than the top 3.

If only finished/near finished hacks won, then we wouldn't have a hoty and the only hacks capable of winning it would be stuff like Cintrine, which has less chance of winning than an unedited Fire Red rom.

I'm not flaming or arguing, I'm just stating the facts. :3
