  • Eh, sorry for the late reply. I've been scripting and working on private projects lately. (I haven't been logging in too often since nothing on PC on the Essentials side has been interesting me very much lately.)
Haha, it's okay, mistakes happen. Don't feel too bad now, your concern inspired you to reach out and say something. I can do nothing but respect that. :)
That seems like a pretty big embellishment of the reality. The main reason fusions and recolors get their own thread is because, after the old Pixel Art section was merged with A&D, there was a huge influx of them, enough so that they needed their own thread. If you just have one or two pieces to post that aren't sprites, it can easily go in the DCC too. It has playfully been deemed an "everyone's gallery" since everyone tends to congregate and help one another with art anyway. And galleries aren't exclusive to polished pieces, nor would I ever close a thread with unfinished work (that'd be particularly hypocritical of me lol). Sketches, concept drawings, any amount of unfinished art, be it one or all three required pieces, is allowed! It's just that, if you have three or more, they really deserve their own thread, you know? The artist can be addressed better that way, and three pieces in particular really helps our critiqueres get a deep sense of the skill level and style of the artist.

I'm sorry you got the wrong impression of A&D, and I hope you can see that it's actually more than new and veteran user friendly. Despite how you may feel, I put a considerable amount of work into the way A&D operates, and new members are always given special attention in my eyes. There's always somewhere a new user can post their art, and I'm always available to ask should they have any questions. I do appreciate your feedback though, and I'm willing to listen to any other grievances or concerns you may have. :)
I don't really care that someone trust me or not. I do not stole this sprites. Even I make yourself some of them.
Neorice was already credited in my signature. Thanks for your concern regardless.
Thank you! I am glad to hear you are enjoying some of my scripts.
In the future I will be adding a couple more, so stay tuned. :P
Trolls don't need feeding. He was talked to in other capacities, in private, and still chose not to change his attitude. Not a lot more else I can do for him.
Oh, I know. Back when staff used this as a collab of themes, we did have 1st gen sprites. I just like 2nd gen sprites better and it doesn't matter now that I'm the only one wearing it :)
Okay, maybe it's useful, but people aren't/don't want to pay attention to it. I can only imagine it's because it's different. The main real arguments against a whole forum for questions seem to be that there is clutter from hack threads (understandable; hack threads can be removed), bad use of thread titles (descriptive titles should be enforced) and not being immediately notified of any new posts (just look; I'm sure a person asking a question doesn't want to be bombarded with reply notifications only to see that other people are asking their own questions instead).

I'm sure the Beginner's Lounge could be turned into a questions-only area, with hack ideas put into ROM Hacking Hub. There's not a whole lot of activity in the latter. The hacking section seems to be more lenient in general about new starter projects and team recruitment, so perhaps forcing all hack ideas into a single sticky isn't appropriate.
No prob. A lot of people helped me out when I started, so I like to return the favor. Plus I just enjoy playing around with essentials.
It looks like my comments won't be useful, but I gave them anyway. It may not be applicable because Game Dev isn't as active as the hacking section (although if anything, that just makes a single question thread worse because it's that much more cluttered).
Well, it is more of a grey area. So we are talking around the staff on what it really is. Nobody wants to take heat so even though I'm fairly sure there won't be backlash, we might just play it safe.
Vizzed is legal based upon the way they do things. They do not show you the rom, just let you play their copy. They own the roms themselves.
