Haha, awesome. To answer your question, no I never played Green... I assume it's just the same as Blue though? I played Red when it first came out here in the UK, then I missed out on Gen II because my Gameboy broke.

I then bought a GBA and "borrowed" (permanently) a friend's, so when I got Ruby and Sapphire I started to work on finishing the (then) 386-Pokemon Dex. I got Fire Red and Leaf Green too, but Leaf Green was an import that didn't work properly and I infuriatingly managed to lose my Fire Red cartridge...

I then moved onto Diamond and Pearl, after I bought a DS for that purpose. I bought a DSi XL when I could afford it too, so now I have 2 DS consoles and every Gen IV game. My Pokemon collection now lives on my HeartGold cartridge, and I use Diamond/Pearl/SoulSilver for Challenges and other runs, because I can breed and trade pretty much any Pokemon from my HG cartridge.

Just got Black and White last week too, and finished the E4 on Black yesterday... My Pokemon gaming will never end...
Usually I do, although I often skip them because I can't stand ocean routes, principally because there's literally nowhere you can go to get away from the wild Pokemon encounters. Darn Tentacool/Wingull... It's worth it though for the EXP in the end.
55 will be enough for sure. I'd make sure either Tauros or Magmar is that high though, otherwise Metagross could be a pain. Flamethrower should sort it out though.

As for Dewgong... Hopefully taking out all of Drake's Pokemon single-handedly will get it a level or two :) Ice Beam anyone?
Haha no worries. I think it's a great move. The only issue is whether Dewgong's fast enough to use it before being inflicted with a status, but I'd imagine it should be quicker than Dusclops and Sealeo...
    Fair enough.

I always think Safeguard is a handy move to have. Obviously the move doesn't only affect direct status moves like Confuse Ray or Will'o'Wisp, it also affects the secondary effects of damaging moves. I think the list of Pokemon that could cause status effects would be:

    Sidney's Cacturne - Leech Seed
    Sidney's Sharpedo - Swagger
    Sidney's Shiftry - Extrasensory
    Phoebe's Dusclops #1 and #2 - Confuse Ray
    Phoebe's Banette #1 - Will'o'Wisp
    Phoebe's Banette #2 - Toxic
    Phoebe's Sableye - Attract
Most of Glacia's Pokemon - Ice Beam secondary effect
    Glacia's Sealeo #2 - Attract
    Drake's Altaria - Dragonbreath
    Both Drake's Flygons - Dragonbreath
    Steven's Skarmory - Toxic
Steven's Cradily - Sludge Bomb and Confuse Ray
    Steven's Armaldo - Water Pulse
    Steven's Aggron - Thunder

Quite a long list of avoidable status conditions then.

As for Rest on Tauros... That move was a mix between helping to stall using Toxic (wear the opponent down, then Rest whenever your own health dips) and a lack of viable alternatives. The only other powerful, non-Normal-type move available to Tauros in Gen III would be Iron Tail; I guess that would be ok, as it would allow him to hit Phoebe's Ghosts.
I'm not playing Leaf Green, I'm just playing the original Green Version. The code for it on Green is found on Serebii. Not sure of the code on Leaf Green, sorry.
That would explain why no one on here really seems to enjoy Gen I/II. I always felt like I was alone for a while.

No real mods, stock 305 TPI with a 700r4 trans. 158k miles and there is a small crack in the engine block that leaks coolant. Over the summer I'd like to get myself some subframe connectors and a 350 but we'll see how that goes lol
Glad to see someone else that agrees with me. It seems like there is so many people on here than love gen III and up and really don't care for the first two as much. I think even less people like the originals over the remakes, and I like the originals.

The car is my 1991 Z28 Camaro. My pride and joy :D
