I never did either, I mean, playing other video games than Pokémon, since it came out.

Most of the time I've been a Gameboy player as the handheld consoles are backwards compatible, but suddenly I made a "reverse halt" and got rid of all my games past Gen 2 (as I just didn't enjoy them as much as Gen 1 and 2; maybe it was the nostalgia bug that bit me) and focused on what pokémon games remained after that and on newer games I bought (which with todays standards are old but new for me, like NES, N64, GCN, PS2, GB, GBC and a few GBA games).

And that's why I bought Stadium 1 and 2, a few of the other game versions (I have Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Crystal and Stadium 1 and 2, Snap, Pokémon Puzzle Challenge and Pokémon TCG).

I used to have more, as I only bought Pokémon games, like Leafgreen, Sapphire, Pearl, Pokémon Pinball (of which the latter IMO isn't that good), but since then I've bought other games like:

Mario Bros. [NES], Beetle Adventure Racing [N64], Mickey's Speedway USA [N64] , LoZ Ocarina of time [N64], Tetris [GB], Mario & Yoshi [GB], Loz Oracle of ages [GBC], Loz A Link To The Past [GBA actually, it's a port] and Wario Land [GB].
All of which the scavenging rat in me managed to, after looking long and deep, find dirt cheap in various locations like local game stores, Ebay and Amazon. :-D

So recently I've focused on the greatness that is LoZ A link to the past and I'm in the last frikkin dungeon which is hard as hell >:-(.

Interchangeably I've played Wario Land which is IMO the best platformer and overall one of the best games to own for a Gameboy.
I managed to beat it in one week with the Select 16 times cheat in a few tight spots and prior experience, but overall the game is just the right amount of hardness to last a good while, with a lot of levels and secrets.

And that's my "small" essay-ish update on the summer's gaming. Haven't started up Red yet, but I'm planning to do it when, or if I ever, finish the Zelda game.

You're right, one usually finds better Normal-type pokémon later on :)

I've tried Houndoom, but it hasn't impressed me. Also I like Arcanine much more so I'd go for one if I need a Fire type :D

I'm not playing through anything either, I've cleared Kanto in Crystal so I'm playing LoZ A Link to the Past, which I have cleared to about 30 % maybe? It's a great game in between my playthroughs.

Next I guess I have to finish the Crystal Dex and after that I'll be playing through Red, which I haven't done yet. The thing is that I bought Pokémon Stadium 1 on an online auction site, and it was delivered with a Transfer Pack and Pokémon Red, and I got them all for the price of Stadium alone. So it was a great deal.

I traded all the previous gamer's good pokés to Crystal and then I cleared the save so that I'll be able to just pick it up and start a new game.
I would just like to point out that Trivium is awesome from what I've heard of them. (which is basically; In Waves, Becoming the Dragon, and Anthem). You seem like a longtime fan at least so can you possibly reccomend me some songs by em to check out?
I've been distracted from all the writing I was planning to do this week . . . I mean, I have got a lot done, but nowhere near as much as I was planning to do, and nothing at all on Champion Game. :/

Well, I can see that it would be harder to pull off with inexperienced Trainers, yeah. And I try not to have the Pokemon operate completely of their own accord, but rather have the Trainers guiding them a bit more generally. For example, err:
That's pretty much all the orders Flannery gives for the rest of the battle. Then stuff goes crazy and fire goes everywhere. Also, I believe that there's only one move named in the rest of the battle - other than Flamethrower up ^ there - even though various Pokemon use Fire Fang, Fire Blast, Overheat, Poison Fang, Crunch, Light Screen and Lava Plume. It's up to the people reading to work out which they are.

Well, League Rules are good because if you don't use them, any old Trainer can jump out and challenge you to a six vs however-many-you-have battle and send them all out at once. So on the whole, I tend to use them for all Trainer-vs-Trainer battles. But when it gets into unofficial stuff, there's no reason to actually use the rules. Except if
    Spoiler:
Yeah, I saw that. You joined on the 15th, last visited on the . . . 15th. >_> I was wondering where that referral came from all of a sudden.

OH MY FREAKING GOD YES THEY ARE. *is writing one right now* I'm experimenting with a new way of writing them, actually - minimum Trainer interaction, maximum power. So rather than trying to yell out every tiny detail of every strategy you come up with, you stfu and let the monsters do what you trained them to do. It only works in c+c because I'm dealing with highly experienced Trainers, though - current matchup is Flannery versus Maxie. (Dayum, there is fire EVERYWHERE.)

Also it helps that it's a five vs three free-for-all. I mean, when dealing with criminals like Maxie, there's no real point in following official Pokemon League battle rules, do you?

In other words, yes, my writing is going well, thank you. Chapter One stands at, erm . . . 5,407 words, and the end should tide us over comfortably into the six thousands. Maybe even seven, depending on where I decide to put the next big scene.
    LATE REPLY JESUS WHAT.

I have so many unwritten ideas I couldn't even begin to give you a number. Many of them should really stay as just that - ideas - for one reason or another, but others really make me sad to see them go. I'm looking forward to c+c too, tbh. :D (By the way, I have a tentative release date of August 14th for Chapter 1 over at Bulba. Still undecided as to whether I should post it here.)

Yup yup, good luck! (god I sound like Bidoof what)
Yeah, idea fly like bullets. Most of them never make it to paper, but every now and then one (like c+c) goes a lot further. It's a little sad to think about all the ideas that never quite made it, though. :(
    a) I totally forgot about that and b) not necessarily. I have a mic built into my laptop, but I hardly use it. Skype is text-based as well as speech-based, so I usually just plug in my headphones, listen and type. :3

Ooh, that sounds nifty. Jurassic Pokemon would be cool to see - have they evolved in the past 100 million years? Are there lots of dinosaur Pokemon? Obviously there'll be the likes of Cranidos and Aerodactyl, but there have to be others for sure. Interesting. And the whole idea of a trainer out of his natural habitat - so to speak - is interesting as well.
I toyed with the idea of entering the Yu-Gi-Oh tourney (I do play) but decided against it in the end. And I don't really see the point of the Egg Swap, but it's so popular for some reason! Also, you can download Skype for free from their website if you wanted to join in.

Sure, go for it! You listened to me ramble on about c+c, so it's the least I can do! Besides, I'm intrigued.
Yeah, kind of a break, I guess. The GT's fun, actually. I've been participating in the Skype event for the last couple days, as well as entering the Manga 'Translation' event, the Pokemon Song Parody event, the MENSA quiz, and a couple of others. I just need to sit down and write an entry for the SWC, though . . . I haven't even started.
Well, it's Monday morning . . . I spent the weekend at a friend's house, so no writing there . . . I've been spending the last day or so just chilling at the Get-Together, but this afternoon I'm going to get the reviews I've promised people out of the way and then start writing. First for the Small Writing Competition at the GT8, and then Champion Game and/or convalescence+convergence.
    Well, that's good. XD

Hey, have you heard of the band Altars? I just found them last night, but they're pretty sick. I have the first song in their EP on repeat. It's just a minute-long breakdown with just group vocals at the beginning, but it's so awesome I can't stop listening to it! :'D
...I can't really think of anything else to say to that, though. I feel like an ass. D: Life can be so cruel. :c
Oh, wow... I'm sorry about your friend. :(

I guess lyrics that are about emotional trauma are the best kind of lyrics? Though sometimes depressing... D:
Writing music does seem hard, especially lyrics (at least for me). Everytime I try to think of lyrics for a song, I think of something generic, put them together, sing/scream it in my head, then I think, "Why the hell...? I'm a moron... :\"
