  • If you see this, do let me know how you are and what you've been up to. Wherever you are right now, hope you're doing well!
In honesty I was about a minute from turning in for the night, so the next time I see you on, we'll definitely chat. Have a good night yourself!
Wow... that's a lot of stuff. Sounds like all kinds of fun, too. :D Do you organize a lot of it then?
Hoorah, well, I will certainly post about that later. I think it's fantastic that you're gonna learn so much about this old place.

That all sounds quite interesting, especially the fiction - that's actually what I'm going to school for, writing fiction. I'm in a Creative Writing program, hah. It's a pretty sweet gig. I think you probably follow TV more than I do, but my use of music in fiction is probably different than yours. I'm not really into fanfiction either, except for really bad ones, like Face the Strange and My Immortal, because, well...how could you not love those trainwrecks?! My music definitely influences my mood a lot, and also my thinking. I've got a big habit of making everything I write fit to a soundtrack of songs for mood.

My passions are music, writing, religion, LGBTQ issues, feminism... I'm very political, and very much interested in religion and culture. Religion's my minor, and stuff. I try to incorporate all the stuff I like into my writing, but I usually don't have to, because my characters tend to turn out that way anyway. I'm working on two big stories right now, that are just finishing up the planning stages...about to start actually writing them; might end up using the newer one for something in my degree.
Excellent, thank you ^-^ - overlap doesn't matter, anyone and everyone's experiences and history are what I'm looking for :). Can't wait to hear it all, particularly about that friend, who they are and if they are still around now etc :)

Yep, I'm a newbie, and I'm still kicking myself for that over three months later. How this place went under my radar for eight years still mystifies me, but I'm now working to make it feel like I've been here the whole time, which is partly what my history interest is about. But as for my perspective, I love it here so much. It's rare that you find a whole big group of people who are interesting to get to know and who are so similar to you yet so different. Every day is a new adventure :)

My interests are mostly based around fiction. I love movies, TV, books, all of that. I have about 15 TV shows (like current ones that are still airing) that I follow at any given time, not to mention the huge backlog of ended ones. Anything that tells a story I love :) not usually fan fiction though, I can't get into things knowing they're not canon. Music - not a lot. Most music I listen to can be linked in some way to one of my TV shows (but I don't want to give you the wrong impression, I actually do leave the house and have friends and stuff, I'm not a hermit :P)

What about you? What are you into?
    Indeed it is lol.

OK, I just realised that I've never seen you around before and your join date is April 2004, so that could only mean one thing: you are another of those returning old members that we've been seeing so much of lately. So I went to the New Users / Welcome section and that confirmed my suspicions lol. In that thread you mentioned memories...

I've written a blog post (my latest one) called The History of Pokecommunity, and I'm basically calling on old members to share some of their memories with me so that I can learn absolutely everything I can about the place. If you could read the blog and comment, that would be just epic :)
Yes, please tell us all about him, we'd love to know about who he was and his story. I think everybody can benefit from these stories, even the ones that end so tragically. (EDIT: I think that made it sound like I was getting some sort of kick out of the death of your friend - that's not what I meant, but.... I think you understood what I meant. I tend to say the wrong thing when it involves sensitive subjects)

And of course I'm interested! Where did you post it? If it was in the LGBT thread I must have missed it entirely.
Hi Merzbau! Your LGBT posts made me want to come give you a hug, but I figured coming to say hi would be more appropriate :)
Oh, I see. It makes sense that way, I think. Seems like you're free now... but did anyone else have problems with it?
Hehe, I was 10 when I joined. No knowledge of anything, completely airheaded.
Sounds a bit like me. Never really understood how people worked, always thought I mattered, that my opinion was the only one that should be considered. I guess I'm quite a bit more humble now.

It had to have been a bit rough, though. Your transition, I mean.
Ah, there are a few people like that still here. Most of them come around and at least don't insult people after a while. It seems like you've changed... for the better, I guess? I suppose it was a rather big change for you, either way.
A very nice quote to sum everything up! I haven't read that book, but I would read anything that could produce such lovely sentiment.

I do, in fact, have a current messenger that I use! I use MSN under the handle [email protected]. However, I may attempt to change this to a different handle in the near future as a.) I hate that handle and b.) I recently discovered that [email protected] wasn't taken. This would be much easier and more memorable to my PC friends. I'll be happy to catch up any time!
