Oh noooo! You should sue Shamalandong! He ruined Book 1 for you...!

But not really. It's so butchered and abridged, the series is like a totally different thing. You should be able to gather what's wrong just from the very first series episode compared to any part of the film. The first season is 20 episodes and the film comprised a lot of episodic story into literally under 2 hours.

The fact you were laughing at it is a good sign though. I think only actual TLA fans get angry, since they know the material. I'd like to see your reaction to it after watching it... but hmm... that would mean having to rewatch it. And I can't be that cruel to you. :P

Holy crap... I never even saw that, but yeah... YOU'RE parallel to it too. You are water and like Mars, I'm fire and like Mercury. Pffthaha. Wow.
And yet these blue meets red is such a common anime pairing, it's not even funny. I elaborated more on that in my email message though.

And no, I didn't dislike Mars at all. I just don't remember her really sticking out for me. I seem to recall her being the only one to wear high heels, vs the boots all the others wore. Her powers were the coolest though.
I remember loving it when Ami finally got something past stupid mist bubbles that didn't even deal damage.

Because of Gen 5, I actually greatly prefer triple battles. That's my preference. But I like doubles and singles a lot too.
The only one I don't particularly care for is rotation. That's more about luck than strategy and can be grating.

Damn you, you constantly tease me with yourself yet still won't show a picture. And now you've seen me, and still hold out. So unfair. :P

One of your first posts that caught my interest was some anime hoodie you had. And I remember laughing at how awesomely nerdy it was. Right out of my world.
I think you'll like some of my shirts and jackets too; so our style might be pretty compatible, haha.

    For example:

This is a shirt I have my eye on. Yes, it is just a T-shirt, but it looks like a jacket, haha.

I was never repressed like that, but for the longest time, my mother would always buy my clothing, and she always wanted those weird long-sleeve shirt/sweater things. Finally I realized how much I hated them and started buying my own stuff.
With how weird I am, of course I picked out some weird and colorful stuff.

The closest experience I had with uniforms was the last year of middle school. Boring polo shirts and khakis. They were so rigid, you even HAD to wear a belt. My mom came up with the idea to cut the loops off and it was perfect.

I would strip out of them the second I got home. And, you know the most comical part? We had more fires, fights, and general chaos that last year WITH the uniforms than any other. So much for them 'improving' the school. So inane.

I think things like horoscopes and astrology can be fun, but I really don't think of them past that. I don't view it as a science or think it can predict the future or anything, but I like it when I get to analyze people's traits and then see how they fit up.
And it's pretty perfect for you, like Leo is for me, haha.

Well, I don't think "asking for help" is a pet peeve for you, but overall. I wouldn't say ALL work and no play either. That's why you're here after all, but it does fit you.

I kind of want to see what you'd get with the personality test. There's a link for your own, but this is mine. I think it fits me well too:

Thanks for telling me your birthday! I sure didn't want to miss it! September really does suit you, haha. When you kept saying 'before me' and such, I was thinking June or something.

You gotta tell me the exact year though, so I can be right with your age though.

Okay.... damn you, seriously. Haha, you think you're going to deny it, THEN taunt me like that and STILL think we're not having that contest? Oh, it's on now!
I'm more determined than ever, my friend! And as you also know, tiers mean nothing to me. :)
My hair may look calm when it's pressed down, but I'll give you a hell of a run when I'M at my most crazy!

You know I don't care what you look like; I think now I just want to beat you in terms of hair craziness now, haha.

Do you have a Youtube, by chance? You should come up with something. Run some ideas past me. What would you like?

Yeah, people who have a pleasant voice should speak. I'm no orator at all. My voice to me is like nails on a chalkboard, and my inflections too. I'm glad you like it, haha, but it's pretty embarrassing to me. No wonder everyone always thinks I'm 15 years younger than I actually am.

Of course you can watch that video! I'd like nothing more than to share it with you. It's one of the most complicated videos I've ever made. You can see from how I edited it together how closely the anime actually stayed true to the original film:

It was one of the animes that kickstarted my DVD collection; along with Basilisk. Another Gonzo/Funimation anime adapted from very old source material. A Japanese novel from the 1950s, and Basilisk is even MORE true to the material than Samurai 7.

All I know with the Magnificent 7 was that it was trying way too hard. Like the little copycat brother attempting and failing to emulate his older brother.
Each introduction was way too hard to try and 'up' Kurosawa and it was outright embarrassing. And very poorly paced too.
They basically just turned every corner and met someone new. And if I recall, they combined Kikuchiyo and Katsushiro together... which is like the worst combination of a character possible.
A mostly incapable and headstrung doof and a rich boy novice. That doesn't work at all, and does that mean one of the 7 then was even more blank of a copy, if they combined two into one?

I don't even remember past the first 30 minutes. I think I went brain dead from boredom, haha.

Where did I learn? Nowhere. I think it just stems from my adoration and like of comparing traits (as I mentioned above) in people and drawing correlations. I've always just been fascinated by, and good at it.

I love analyzing and then sorting out traits of people that match up in others, etc. It's always a lot of fun. Something I just love to do, even when I recreate people in something like games too. (I should show you something in that regard too).

I suppose I am, in a way. When I was younger I fell in love with writing and would spend hours at the keyboard. It suits the daydreamer in me. My mind is always conjuring up vivid thoughts. Back then I knew next to nothing of what made a good writer; my grammar and prose were borderline atrocious (I mean that in a matter-of-fact way, not to be self-deprecating). While I've vastly improved since then, I am now what Robertson Davies would call a "trickler". An example of a trickler is Dorothy Parker, who said, ''I can't write five words but I change seven!'' That definitely sums me up. I've become too perfectionistic to get any writing done, which is quite unfortunate.

I also like to surround myself with those things. There's a delightfully innocent charm to them that can be hard to find in the real world.

I haven't seen the original Dragon Ball, but its characters are certainly endearing, like you said! Kai focuses more on season-length battles and epic villains.

It sounds intriguing, and the art does indeed look unique. I'll have to give it a try sometime! Do you have any links to good quality videos?

I just finished re-watching it, actually. Korra too. The sequel series. I stopped partway through years ago because of... Girl troubles. Long story. TLA is superb. It lives up to the hype. Korra has a lot of issues, especially the first half, but it gets pretty great in the second half. All solid.
The M. Night movie is so hard to explain. But to be quick, it's hilariously bad. A complete mockery to the story. If you want to get into it, avoid it like the plague. If you have to watch it ever do it after you've finished, just to laugh. That's really all it's good for.

Of course I'd be a fire bender, haha. It's so my style and preference, even with how I fight Pokemon. The fire bending style is fast and attach heavy, and I prefer Pokes with high attack and speed. Primeape or Weavile, etc. Adamant too... Hmm.

Honestly, sometimes I feel like a character made by a writer. It's too eerie how these coincidences pan out. Even our ironic connection too, but it's all true for me.
Funnier too, in middle school and high, I was infamous for being the kid who zipped around the halls with speed walking.
We looked at a horoscope book once and found July, the Leo, and immediately on that page, it showed a little guy with speed lines and everyone laughed with "SEE, LOOK AT HIM HERE TOO. THAT'S HIM RUNNING" and again, it was such a perfect match, haha.

While I generally prefer red characters to blue (Kazuma, my sig is a red vs blue trope), sometimes I do like blue more. Mercury in SM over Mars. I recall Mars being my least favorite, actually. I liked Jupiter second, followed by Venus.
Or Jin vs Mugen in Samurai Champloo. Another red/blue anime trope.

Maybe together, both of us are strength? Haha, we are a great team then!

I take it you'd probably be a great water bender yourself. Water is actually very cool, so unique and versatile. Offense or defense, It excels at both.

That's too creative for me. Just like fire. Almost no defense or strategy, just power and attack.
Perhaps even an Earthbender too; due to your fortitude. I think both would suit you.

Haha. Elesa is hot as hell, sure, especially with black hair, but she's very superficial and shallow. Not much more than that.
That is definitely not what I find attractive about girls I'm into. I kinda wish you weren't so elegant with lip gloss and such. That's the Elesa parallel to begin with. I don't consider that my style, so someone like that feels intimidating, like they're too good.

Of course I know you better than that, but at first glance or first impression, who's to say how I'd find you.
Someone you really like personally becomes a lot more attractive, in my experience.
But I'm not even talking you here. Just saying even worst case scenario. From how you've described yourself and how much I know you already, and just my general not too hard to please nature, you have nothing to worry about in that regard, my friend. :p

But be warned, I'M pretty plain looking. Just like my voice.

No, no, no! Did you forget our idea? Don't back out! Weren't we going to measure who had the most insane hair? Don't style it! Mess it up and let's compare. I seriously want to see who can win this! Can't you do that?
No one can best my hair when it comes to insanity! I must win! :-!
This is just our fun little contest, no judging!

Kurosawa and Mifune were the perfect pair! Did you know Seven Samurai even got an anime remake? A top notch one too. It's what introduced me. I actually do music videos as a hobby and did one of the anime and movie combined that you might find interesting.

Hmm. I'm glad you liked the western remakes. I thought the original was the most embarrassing film I'd ever seen. Especially after the original. It was so bad. And the modern one was even WORSE...
High tolerance on your part, or low on mine? Haha. Probably the latter. I do have little patience for things I deem unworthy.

Anyway, you gotta get me more into some others. I have a feeling they'd be great finds for me. I trust your tastes afterall.

That's lame. Laptops are like 600+ bucks. What can you do?

Well, you know, like you, I love analysis and dreams in particular. Not exactly the dreams, but analyzing the reason and person behind them more than anything. I do it all the time with mine. So... Use me. Tell me your dreams if you need help. You know I'm here for you whenever.
So if you ever need to, don't hesitate.

God... Now even THESE little comments have become our emails. Haha.

Sam continues to have excellent taste! Who knew! :P

Have you ever seen Avatar the Last Airbender by chance? Great series. The Fire Nation has a color scheme similar to my profile, crimson, light red, gold, and some black. So beautiful. That's my taste too. Black and red is so sleek.

You sound like a true beauty, if you don't mind me saying, haha. Well, I guess I'll have to wait until you get more comfortable, but can we still do our crazy hair contest? I already have a pic raring to go that's going to be a challenge for you to beat, my friend.
How tall are you? Possibly more than me at 5'6?

Sounds like you understand the torment of looking too young too! Or maybe it's a gift? When we're 50, everyone else will be crying to look younger, while we still will be in our prime.
Some guy told me just a few weeks ago, especially when I shave and comb, I didn't look any older than 20. I could even pull off 16 if I shaved all the way.

My hair really is like that as is the rest of me, but I have a rounder face, so I definitely can't say rugged. But like you, I'm flattered you'd think that. Hurry and find my pic here if you really want to know though, muhaha.

I'm not concerned you miss something. I just don't want to miss conversation points. I talk a lot so it's bound to happen. I try to provide a Justin user manual though too. It was just about my confusion about what you explained about the Pokemon trivia section here. Two of my comments down. Or three.

See, this bugs. You're so upbeat, fun, genuinely caring, and so sweet, so why are you plagued by nightmares? You're the last person who deserves such things.
Well, nothing I can do yet, but maybe just talking and me being around for you anytime can help? I hope so, anyway.

Haha. I'm not super well versed on old Japanese films, but I know Mifune. And what an actor and guy he was. Seven Samurai is a big favorite of mine, which was one of his defining roles.

I gotta say, I laugh every time at how out of place your movie posts are compared to everyone else. Their latest film was the newest Marvel one, but Sam posts about a 70 year old foreign movie. That's so awesome. It just shows how special you actually are from the rest!

What kind of trouble does your computer give you? Mine is just the Windows 10 OS. What garbage.

I wanted a bit more consistency; Zuko didn't work with Kazuma. I'M not artistic at all though. :P

I like that. Red could be the family colors or something; it does seem to suit me very well for sure.
And nice, I knew you had great taste! I would've thought pink from your Mii. Do you like any of the red spectrum, since pink is included in that? That's me too. Orange, yellow, etc. I like those a lot too. The warm colors.

And, did you miss my other reply? You didn't get back to me on that (I had a few questions, just further below). And I also never seem to hear back from you on how YOU'RE doing, haha. Which is a shame, since I would like to know.

I want to reply to your email here too, to not further clog up our correspondence.

No, haha; far from extreme weather. I'm just really paranoid about the computer. I feel like I have to treat it like a porcelain infant (and yet Windows 10 still screws up), and I've had bad experiences with power surges, outages and I feel the computer is especially fragile or vulnerable, even though I'm on a mega surge protector and all that. I just force myself to turn it on even in the most mild non-sunny weather.

I like your Mii! It's very... elegant, how can I put it. When you mentioned oversized glasses, I was expecting like thick nerd glasses, not sunglasses. You almost give off an Elesa vibe.
How accurate to you would you say it is? That's more what I want to know about; if you couldn't guess why.

If you're still just a bit timid to show me for now, then describe yourself a little. I sure am interested to know. :) You seem like a very elegant kind of woman.

And, haha, thanks for the compliment. I don't think I've been called rugged once in my life, ever. I look 10 years younger than I am, and when I was below 10, seriously, I was mistaken for a girl many, many times.

So I wouldn't say me and "rugged" go well together, but we'll see what you think when you actually find my real pic. :P

Oh, and, it's hilarious too; I now have 6 people on my 3DS, myself included. The pattern goes like this:
Red, blue, pink, red, blue... and guess what you added? Pink.
These weird patterns sure like to show up.

Have you seen my new avatar and sig combo yet? I think it suits me!

The sig is actually well over 10 years old and a commission from a way older forum friend from back there I revived.

Funny, back then I wasn't even obsessed with red, but look at it! I knew my innate love for it stemmed beyond it just being Kazuma. IE, my love if crimson red is instinct, even before I realized it!

Really now...? All that was trivia? I thought it was just random Pokemon talks. Is it that strongly official like the TRIVIA SECTION or is that just what everyone calls it?

    Man, I'm confused. :-!

Anyway, I think you might be too optimistic. Sadly our pair up wouldn't allow us to conquer the whole world, so long as gen 7 keeps coming up, haha. I'm far, far too weak in that area. Dammit, our kyrptonite!

I see. You seem like a pretty private person that doesn't seem too keen on making grand announcements or something. I understand. I just like things to be official, I guess, but if you agree with what we've already got, that's good enough! Same thing already! Just without the formality.

I'm excited to see it, but only make it comical if you yourself are just as. I just want a glimpse of who you actually are. :p

My message will tell you what's been happening with me. A bit foul, sadly.

    And you?

One of my favourite scenes is where she's running across the bridge, shedding the many colourful robes she wears; how they contrast against the grey, moonlit surroundings. I understand her desperate longing to break free, it's like your heart is calling you from some far away place.

I haven't had the chance to see much anime outside of Studio Ghibli, really. It's difficult to find any that aren't so archetypal. I did enjoy watching Dragon Ball Z Kai with my siblings, though—the series holds a lot of nostalgia. Gankustuou looks interesting. What's it about?

I even named my Drampa Falkor, haha. I'm not particularly fussy with Pokémon designs in general, with a preference for cute and beautiful ones. I do especially love Lurantis, Zeraora, Mareanie, and the starters.

Thank you, I'll certainly give that a look sometime soon!

Oh yeah, people here mention trivia. You should show me that! We could pair up in something like that!

Can you? Ironically despite not being very keen on a lot of Pokemon, I know too much about it due to anime obsessions as a kid and games, haha! But sadly, my knowledge ends at gen 6, but it could be fun.

With you? A pair up to me means we have as solid of a connection as I already believe we do, haha.
But what that means to you is open. :)

I found it from browsing and, what do you say, my good friend? I can't say for suuuure yet the extent of our budding relationship, haha, but it's pretty great and strong in whatever form! Even now!

I can't think of anyone better I'd be willing to pair up with. But only if YOU also want to.

    I'm a guy, not a boy. :-!
If we're the same age, anyway.

Ha, and you know you don't have to constantly talk in Pokemon terms with me simply because we're here, right? :P

It's not necessary with me, haha. I prefer serious adult talk most times. Just vanilla discussions with no side distractions.

Oh, I'm not worried for you at all, haha. You've proven your fortitude to me a long time ago!

Just saying I imagined my own grief with people I know and like.

You sure you don't want the party instead? I don't need a party to feel better. :-!

Anyway, what got me a bit sad was just something random. My mother was down one day saying a coworker called in I'll one morning, then didn't come in. She regularly went out with other ladies at work, so she and all of them knew her.
Concerned, they called back and got her husband. He said right after calling she wasn't feeling well, she collapsed and was then at the hospital. She had an annurism and was in a coma. Only 45 too.

They were concerned and she was in a coma for a week. And then, well, she died. Never came out of it, kept stroking out. And while I never knew her, I felt sad, just from empathy from my mother's reactions, and imagining it happening to me. That someone I like just vanishing so abruptly like that, and it's a horrible thought.

Since you were gone at that time too, I imagined it on you among others, etc, and that's what got me down. It's always sad and frightening.

I mean, nothing too bad or anything, but I guess I just project a lot of emotions I absorb.
