  • Hello. I recently acquired a bootleg copy of Pokemon Ash's Quest, and I was wondering if it's okay to make a thread about it. I don't want to get in trouble.
Hello Shiroshi, im Liam, i was just recently exploring a bit in the Forums, and i stumbled upon a problem...

    - [ Context ] -
Im coming back to rom hacking after 4 years of innactivity, and i wanted to know where to post, since i don't really know where, first i tought in game development, and i even posted there, just a bit too late to realize it probablly meant fan game development, like, with Game Maker or Essentials, so... that was a no (also, i don't know how to delete it... im not experienced in forums, at all...!)

    - [ Issue ]
So... well, i think it's a bit obvious for me to say what is going on but...!, well... i'll just say it, i don't know...

So... I think the first step would be 'Rom hacks Showcase' i have to make a bit more of progress to actually be able to do the 4 screenshots, but that's okay, Ethan and I should be able to figure out what to do first, but then... what about, dev logs (maybe that's the word? im not sure...) you know, just, showing how's the hack going, like, what are we doing at the moment, showing a bit of progress, showing some ideas, etc and since our little project is more or so 'Feedback Dependant'?, i think so... im not sure, so... Rom Hack showcase to show our little mod, and then, what next?

    - sorry if it came as weird or just repetitive, im not too good at talking with people, either way, thanks for reading, and have a good day, night, morning or afternoon, or uh... merry christmas - Liam Markson
Hey, HIroshi Sotomura. I wasn't sure where to post this, so I wanted to reach out.

I wanted to finally get into Pokemon ROM hacking, but right now, I just want to learn by making small edits. I want to make something playable in a Gen 3 Decomp hack some day, but right now, I don't want to have a passion project because I know my earliest edits will be bad. I've read everywhere it's good to start small instead of being an "ideas person," but I need some sort of goal(s) to keep myself motivated. I had one idea for a manageable project, but the edits would've been really spread out, so it wouldn't be fun for my friend to play test.

I had another question that maybe isn't all that related. In decomp hacks, what does and does not have to be hardware accurate? I read somewhere that I can only use colors that were available on the GBA. I don't want my work on an actual cartridge, but I don't know where to begin in terms of learning the hardware limitations of the GBA. I'm not sure about the music either.

I hope this makes sense. Thank you for your time.
Hello again, Hiroshi! It's Shaken here. I apologize about bothering you a second time, but I wanted to ask if the post I made is looking good so far. I haven't gotten enough work done on the actual hack itself to put out any pictures just yet, but I have done a lot of work on the post. I just want to know if all I need are some pictures from the hack to get this post going, or if it still needs work.

Again, sorry about bothering you once more. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello, Hiroshi! My name is ShakenJacob, but you can just call me Shaken. I wanted to ask you and the rest of the moderation team about a post I made a while back. It's about my very first ROM hack- "Pokemon Fire Red +", and it asks for recruits to come help me create it. I just wanted to know if there's any sort of issue with the post, and if you guys are still approving it, as its been hanging around for about five days now.

Here's the link to the post:

Looking forward to a response from you!

Yo Hiroshi, just letting you know that I'm about to put up the thread in the ROM Hacks Studio section. I've messaged you and the other Studio admins but haven't heard back, so once the thread is up and if there's any issue with it then please contact me.
I'm doing pretty well! I had a period where I was reconstructing my life and figuring things out, got my computer stolen amongst other things, but I've since moved cross-country (again lol.) and now I'm figuring things out more steadily. I also had a period of just...severe burn out for Pokémon related things? It was the first time I'd ever really felt that before. But, I'm in love with the series again haha.

Glad to see your still around and kicking :)
Howdy - Long time no talk. I'm planning on making a return to PC more actively. Super excited... How have you been?
Hello, i would like to rename a thread i created,i found a better name for it and i don't think creating a new one is doable, can you help me? thanks
I believe my hack should be posted in progressing rom hacks but I didn't see that page and posted in Rom Hack studios. could you please move it to progressing rom hacks? It's called Emerald Crest
I can't remember my old username, but I was someone you once trusted with beta testing RijonAdventures. That was a really fun hack. I hope you've been well :)
    Hello there!
Hopefully this won't be too long, but I need your help with something quite hard.

I am looking for a long lost mini hack made by the Cutlerine (creator of Pokémon
snakewood) which was uploaded for a brief amount of time in this website by him.
Specifically, the mini hack was named Pokémon cangrejo and it was uploaded
in this page of the original snakewood thread https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=235371&page=20 , on December 25th 2010. However, it was deleted a few days later by the Cutlerine (if you click the link, you will see a gap between 24th and 26th during which the game was supposedly uploaded) Even though he said he would upload an updated version he never did, resulting in the game being completely gone from the internet.
I know this is a lot, and most likely can't be done, but is it possible for you, or someone to retrieve the deleted message, so the game gets to be found again?

Thank you if you read this.
