Oh man I can't believe I didn't see it. You skipped over an SU part. I'm really sorry, you need to pick a Pokemon from up to gen IV as your starter in an egg. So yeah first stage of evolution. It can be anyone you like just not past gen IV. I'm sorry I confused you. And Entei brings you the egg.
