  • 6 weeks!? :o

Dang for which team? Also it's all good i've been busy with college as well so I totally understand. :)
Oh dang, you seem like a very organized person. That's a good thing, I wish that I had saved up more of my money before college instead of spending it on a car. That is one of the biggest financial failures that I regret because I don't even like driving that much. Haha it least it's good for road trips I guess.

Yeah, one good thing with engineering is that most internships pay, and they pay better than internships for other majors because odds are you'll be making more if you get an engineering degree. Furthermore, if you're going for a biomedical engineering degree then you may be able to work in a lab of a hospital or something, you never know. Do you have an advisor, like my school they give us advisors bu the one I had was useless so I talk to another guy that helps me way more. xD

Yeah I enjoy college but those are not the weeks I'm looking forward too. I prefer spring semester to fall semester for some strange reason though, idk.
Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Best of luck, you have lots of time since you're still a Freshman afterall. You probably still could find a good internship after all though because you're in high enough classes. Since you live in a really populated area like D.C., maybe look online? Or do you want one in NC?

Also, yeah I agree. The first month of a new semester, the middle two weeks of a semester before Spring Break, and the last month of the semester are always hell. xp
My god the food in Europe sounds so much better and more diverse. In larger cities we can experience that a little but probably not nearly as much as actually going to the countries. Gah my friend said in Italy like instead of taking time out of their day for tea like the British do they take time out for coffee. Well it's either Italy or France, i don't remember. I heard most of Europe doesn't even allow GMOs for any of their food. xp

Yeah, if I ever go overseas to do work I honestly don't know where I'll go. I'll probably just let fate decide that one and whatever happens happens.
I have always wanted to try Swiss chocolate, I heard that and gelato in Italy are like the two things you need to try when in Europe. Yeah, for the most part Farmer's markets aren't a big thing here, but when I visit my family in SA they have a huge Farmer's market there. It's really impressive! In America it's like all big supermarkets.

Yeah some of the stuff Brantley was talking about seemed really scary. If it wasn't for that new drug I'm not sure that he would have made it. The work that he did was heroic but some of the stuff you experience are grave and life changing as well. Work like that is super important though, in developed and underdeveloped areas. The world is always looking for engineers and doctors.
Aw, I've always wanted to go to Europe. I had a good friend who studied abroad spring semester of last year, and she said Switzerland was beautiful but everything there was crazy expensive. I wouldn't mind living in Switzerland or Belgium though; everything just seems so mellow there. Wow, that would be an awesome experience; plus you'd be helping others out which is always a plus. I've thought about if I became a pharmacist, maybe going over to Africa for a year or so and helping the doctors. I was able to hear Dr. Kent Brantley speak last year and some of the stuff that goes on over there is pretty intense.

Ah yeah, that's not too bad tho imo. Idk what I'm doing for Spring break yet. xp
Maybe me and some friends will go on a road trip.
Yea thats the same for my university as well but im glad i only have to take the regular physics. Pre-pharm kids only have to take physics which I am fine with! Aw, that would be cool to go to Madagascar, I've never even been to Africa. I may end up going to South America to see family this summer but I normally do that about once a year. Have you ever been out of the country?

Dang that sucks, yeah mine is only 3 days a week which is nice. The other days i have psychology at 11 which isnt bad and a lab on thursday afterwards. Oh yea I bet, you're close to the beaches I am truly jealous!
Haha yeah, I was thinking the only thing that would be harder than E&M and thermodynamics as an undergrad would be Quantum physics. That's impressive you got the credits for both of the physics classes, do you not have to take engineering physics or anything? If so you are super lucky! I don't really like physics all that much tbh. :c

Yeah, an internship would look really good! Also I know with engineering a lot of times the interns have the options to work with the companies when they get out of school, and that could be really good for a starting job with starting pay. My friend is in something called Speed School right now and he's Co-oping at some company. He's a chemical engineer, I almost went to the speed school myself but am kinda glad I didn't. I really want to be a pharm tech and don't think it would be too hard to snag a job as one since they let anyone be one I think.

Hot chocolate is soooo much better than coffee but without my morning cup of coffee i'd die! I don't drink much coffee when I'm out on break but I have to have a little every morning. I've never had an 8AM and this semester is my first so coffee will be my best friend for the first few weeks. Not looking forward to it. :c

It wasn't too cold earlier, but its pretty frigid now. I live in the upper part of Kentucky, close to Cincinnati atm. It hasn't gotten too cold yet but it's supposed to snow some next week. I'm sure it's been super cold in DC.
Just the name Electricity & magnetism gives me anxiety; that class sounds super hard. Yeah, I've though of workin there over the summer when I take Biochem 1 I'd be able to get more hours because a lot of people would have gone home already. Idk tho.

Yeah, there is no easy rad for an engineer unfortunately. However, the harder majors equal the higher pay salary after we graduate haha. My advice would be to try to take all of the harder classes between now and junior year then if possible make senior year a little easier because you'll probably have to do like a senior seminar or senior project or somethin (maybe even an internship).

Yes, on a cold night hot chocolate is love. <3
No next year's going to be a nightmare. I've thought of getting a job for this semester at a local coffee shop but I don't know if I will because I'm not going to be able to work next year. It will be school, study, 5 minutes of free time and then sleep. Yeah, do you have a lot of science classes still? At least you've got the majority of math classes out of the way besides thermodynamics and Diff EQ and linear algebra. Heheh maybe not. :c
No, this is my second year but I'm a sophomore/junior. I'm a little behind on chem but a litle ahead with biology and have all of my gen eds finished besides speech and psychology. Luckily I'm younger than most of the people so it's not a big deal' however if I just do pre-pharm then I could still graduate in 3 years if I wanted. At my school if you're in engineering then you can take an accelerated chemistry class that let's you do it in one semester, but if you're a science major or pre-pharm, med, pt, etc. then you have to take a more detailed chemistry for two semesters. I'll take chem 2 next semester, then organic 1 and 2 next year along with microbiology, and anatomy and physiology 1 and 2. More than likely I'm taking Biocehm 1 in the summer and may or may not take Biochem 2 next year depending on the pharmacy school I want to go for.

Dang passed Calc AB and BC in high school, you are one smart cookie my friend!
Very cool, I'm an MCB major (Molecular and Cellular Biology) major as well but ultimately I just want to get into Pharmacy school so I may just try to be pre-pharm if I can somehow get in with just that and the PCAT. I have Chem 2, Cell Bio, Psychology, an upper level Chem class (I don't remember the name atm), and a American Lit 2. Best of luck, the engineering and physics majors seem the hardest! Have you taken all 3 Calculus and Diff EQ already?
Yeah, same to me. Except I go back on the 9th. or 10th. and my semester officially start on the 11th. I'm having a pretty good break as well, but I'm ready to go back to school. Do you have some hard classes this semester?
