Well, singing lessons is a lot of doing simple exercises, like hearing some notes, and then try to sing those, or hearing a note and sing a third higher, for me atleast haha. Probably the same things you did while doing plays and practicing piano. The one-on-one is great to perfect your technique. I taught myself wrong, before I started but you probably wouldn't notice in a group, but with one-on-one you can notice and fix it within no time. I have a unconventional taste in music, so it also gives me the space to sing music I like instead of pop.
I love the timing most scat singers can put in their music, it really allows for that swing in your music, it really is great.
That's amazing! You don't hear that where I'm from, people getting scholarships for their singing. How old were you when you started?
I already have singing lessons, starting my third year now. I'm mainly focusing on acoustic songs, pop songs, and lately on rock/punk and metal now I've got more control of my voice. Jazz really interests me, but I've never really took the time to get around to singing it, as it's far from my comfort zone, and I don't have a lot of time because of school and my health.
Cool! You sound like quite the experienced singer. I have a hard time imagining a bass voice to your photos. I personally really want to get in jazz vocals, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
