  • Adventures Lance is overrated. "Evil" doesn't necessarily equate to "interesting" or "well-written," and that kind of characterization doesn't suit Lance at all, anyways. (N did it way better.) Plus, like with many of the game characters, his Adventures design is hideous. Since when was Lance some short, bug-eyed freak with orange hair and emo bangs? (Adventures basically turned him into a Rowdyruff Boy. He even has the same color scheme as Brick! Yuck!)

    Now, anime Lance was just adorable. {<3} Actually quite game-accurate in both looks and personality, and the G-Men stuff, I thought, had some potential (if very badly-handled in his Hoenn appearance). It's outright tragic that the Groudon vs Kyogre flop may have relegated him to the same dustbin that Jynx, Porygon, and Kadabra currently reside in.

    (Seriously, Clair got to return a few times in BW, while Lance didn't get so much as a mention, not even when Iris was in Blackthorn Freakin' City! Even worse, they had Iris idolize CYNTHIA instead of the, you know, actual Dragon Champion who owns a Dragonite. Geez, did Lance spill coffee on the anime writers' laps, or what? Talk about a middle finger.)

    Oh, I'll have to check that story out. Thanks! {<3}
    I see we have similar taste in men. ;)

    What's your favorite look for Lance? What's your favorite game that he's been in? And, why do you love him?

    As you can guess by my avatar, I love his original look. He looked so young and cute back then (like his signature Pokémon, he's better when he's Badass Adorable instead of just badass, IMO), and I always thought the jacket/boots combo suited him well. Gave him a little edge and was quite sexy.

    His GSC/FRLG look isn't bad, either. (Especially, the extremely adorable version from the anime.) He looked more like a superhero here, which better suited the more heroic character he became in Gen 2.

    His best game is undoubtedly Crystal. (Which happens to be my favorite main series game, overall.) The Gen 2 games, overall, expanded a lot on his characterization and backstory (one of the many perks of being a Champion instead of an Elite Four member), but Crystal took it even further with the fleshed out Dragon's Den.

    (HGSS are a close second, as they also have all the things Crystal gives him but with far superior graphics... But, they lose a lot of points for sticking him in a horrible outfit and aging him up 25 years. Where's my sweet, sexy young Dragon Master?)

    The only thing more I wish they could've done was let us get his phone number (like we could get Steven's in the Hoenn games). I'd have been calling him all the time, like we were really BFFs. Plus, he could give us advice and help us out along the way.

    Not only is Lance very easy on the eyes, but he's also gorgeous on the inside, too. He's such a sweet, caring person who loves to help others and fight against injustice, which only makes him even hotter. (I absolutely hate how a certain non-canon manga distorts such a beautiful man into being a hateful, bloodthirsty villain.)
