Thanks, usually I lose 4/5 Pokémon against the Elite Four so I was surprised at how well I did, even though I was kinda overlevelled. I would but I just don't want to risk losing and want to end on a high haha

It's really frustrating, gonna start updating now though! Can't believe I'm finished, the Ones That Got Away challenge is up next

Yeah I used Chikorita in the end, I'm ready for my final update but don't have the effort to do it right now. It's 4am in my timezone haha.

Haha I meant without a Marshtomp, Grovyle's STAB moves are pretty useless against Magneton and I just find Combusken a little brittle to risk him. Quick question, should I use my newly caught Chikorita or should I go with Castform? Chikorita would be helpful for the next two gyms, but is 10 levels lower and would require some serious grinding, it'd probably be worth it tbh, any advice for me?

Yeah I see where you're coming from there, Wattson with a Marshtomp is pretty tough. His Manectric always causes me trouble on Emerald as well

I still need to go to Mt. Pyre etc and do all the Aqua/Magma base stuff (can't remember which), so I might be able to catch someone useful, but I'll train Castform anyway, would be a good back-up! Thanks man, I seen your first update on your Emerald Nuzlocke, teams looking quite sweet if you can keep them alive I can see you breezing through the game haha

Same as that, I just always use Surf and hope for the best! That's a good call, I might train up my Castform just for this battle, Rain Dance + Weather Ball, would help with Surf too

Oh yeah that's really good advice man! I don't think I'd have thought of it myself tbh haha. I'm pretty screwed for the next gym though because 3 out of my team of 5 are weak to either Psychic or Rock, and Grumpig's a little defensively fragile for my liking. I'm going to need my Blastoise to perform well to say the least..

I always really lied the design but idk I always assumed it would be somewhat disappointing to use. The only electric types I've enjoyed using are Electabuzz, Ampharos and Luxray. In my first runthrough of a Pokémon game I usually like a Grass, Fire, Water, Flying, Electric and another random Pokémon with a cool design. I'm really happy with my Hariyama on this Nuzlocke btw, it absolutely destroys everything but just such a shame that the next 2 Gyms after I started using it were Flying and Psychic!

On a normal RSE playthrough I'll have Swampert, Swellow, Mightyena and 3 others but I've never used a Manectric personally as I rarely use electric types but I'm intrigued to try it now. I might possibly do a "Ones That Got Away" challenge and use Manectric as one of my choices.
That's actually some really good advice, and I'll almost certainly give Hariyama both of those moves, hopefully it will help me throughout this playthrough haha!

Yeah that makes sense actually, just on a randomized run I forget about how few Pokémon are in each area. I'm so annoyed at myself, I was so careless against Norman and misjudged how heavy Slaking was. I had a Makuhita/Hariyama in each of my previous Ruby Nuzlocke's and they died in the Elite Four each time. They always took hits very well and could do a lot of damage but they always seemed a little slow. I need to be extra careful now because four deaths with only 5 badges gotten is a poor record. I really need to grind Makuhita a lot, Grumpig is incredible so far, so easy to level up too. I'm hoping on getting lucky in New Mauville and getting someone who compliments the rest of the team well

I always get sick of training haha, always risky being underlevelled on a Nuzlocke though! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your Emerald one also, I recommend using the Duplicate clause because the amount of Zigzagoon's I got on my original Ruby one was infuriating haha
