  • I know some of Java, HTML, PHP, C and C++....I like the hardware side of computers a lot more though. Building new computers and upgrading/repairing computers is so much more fun than programming.

Diamond is just a really slow game in general. It's actually kinda boring because of how slow paced it is.
I do not. I know a bit of C++ and HTML but that's about as far as my computer knowledge goes.

Yeah I think the battles run at full speed for me but there are odd pauses every now and then.
I have Diamond, which I'll get to at some point. The battles are so damn slow though.

I take it you don't know a ton about computers then?
I got Desmume as well, and I couldn't tell you specs other than it's a machine from the early-mid 2000's. It works just fine with other ROMS and most anything I play, but yeah it is kinda old.

I really want to do silver again haha. Not sure when to start- I'm giving Pearl version a go at the moment. Can't decide on who to catch because I don't like many of the designs lol
I'm actually playing through silver already :\. I wanted to do the monochrome challenge but I decided playing through the games again would be more fun.

What is your computers specs? And I'm using Desmume.
Lucky! I wonder if it's the emulator for me...

A nuzlocke challenge is a different way of playing a pokemon game. There are three main rules: If a pokemon faints, it is dead, and never can be used again. You can only catch the first pokemon you see on every route, if you fail to catch it, tough. And you must (well should) nickname all your pokemon.

I've never done one before, but it sounds difficult and a lot of fun. I've been thinking about trying it out on silver if you want to be my companion on gold? :P
What is a Nuzlocke? And yeah I can play Diamond at 60 FPS. I can play Gamecube/Wii and PS2 emulators at 40+ FPS as well.

This was my team with moves:
    -Raichu lvl 48
    -Thunder
    -Thunderbolt
    -Swift
    -Flash

    - Dugtrio lvl 47
    -Slash
    -Rock Slide
    -Dig
    -Earthquake

    - Mew lvl 41
    -Psychic
    -Strength
    -Cut
    -Fly

    - Blastoise lvl 48
    -Bubblebeam
    -Blizzard
    -Surf
    -Hydro Pump

    - Alakazam lvl 49
    -Psychic
    -Psybeam
    -Recover
    -Teleport

    - Growlithe lvl 36 (didn't even use him once)
    -Ember
    -Bite
    -Take Down
    -Leer

Mainly did it because I held off all evolutions and knew what my team was gonna be from the start. Originally it was going to be Gastly instead of Dugtrio, but I ended up catching a level 31 Dugtrio in Diglett cave so I used him instead since it required less training. I planned out when I would evolve. I held squirtle off until level 42 so he would get hydro pump, then evolved him and gave him blizzard. Then with pikachu I kept him until 43 and got thunder then evolved. With Kadabra I kept him until level 38 when I got psychic and then evolved for Alakazam. With Dugtrio I ended up getting the Earthquake TM in Silph Co when he was only level 37, so he was destroying with that move 10 levels before he was suppose to. Overall most of the Elite Four was one hit kills lol
Does you computer really play the DS games full speed?

That's an impressive team lol how did you get through with such low levels? I just finished a green playthrough yesterday, and had to defeat the entire E4 with only grass and normal type attack moves and 4 pokemon... That was tough haha. I somehow beat them all and my team of 4 was only lvl 55. Tough, but somewhow I did it.

Have you ever done a Nuzlocke before?
My computer plays games at full speed. And you can change the music back once you get all of the badges in Johto and Kanto...

I just beat my Red playthrough tonight. I thought I was going to get owned because I was fairly unleveled (mid 40's when I started), ended up beating the whole Elite Four with ease.

    My final team:
    - Raichu lvl 48
    - Dugtrio lvl 47
    - Mew lvl 41
    - Blastoise lvl 48
    - Alakazam lvl 49
    - Growlithe lvl 36 (didn't even use him once)

Probably was because I didn't evolve any of my guys until they had their strongest attack (held Squirtle off till 42 so he got Hydro Pump at 42 and then evolved into Blastoise). Also had other strong TM's like Blizzard and Earthquake used lol
Isn't there an option to switch back to the orignal soundtrack? And my ROM plays at halfspeed so I just turn volume all the way down lol no idea what the music is like
I ended up getting soulsilver from best buy because I had 2 gift cards from christmas I wasn't going to use on anything so I bought. Honestly, I haven't played it hardly at all. Hate the new music, hate the added items and added pokemon, and hate some of the new graphics. I wish when they did a remake, they would keep the game 100% the same with updated graphics and updated music that still sounds similar to the original.
Oh nice... I've never done that before I'll have to try it! Yeah, I'm really hoping that I can get this SoulSilver ROM to work with wi-fi... Cuz I'd like to see what they did to my favorite gen, but not for $40 :P
I ended up trading today to get my Alakazam. Used TGB dual and it worked great. I spent about an hour trying to do it with VBA link with no luck but after about 30 minutes with TGB dual I got it to work. Trading on emulators are a pain
Oh haha. I guess for Alakazam and Gengar... Hmm if it's just for filling out the dex, then use some wild pokemon codes and catch em, otherwise idk what to tell ya
I really wanted to hack my game on my emulator right now so I wouldn't have to try to figure out how to trade on an emulator to get Alakazam and Gangar. Couldn't find anything online about it though :(
Yeah. You can probably find some sort of table online for it. I wish there was a ROM map for r/b/y/g. I'm currently playing green and want a scyther but idk how to hack gen I or II :(
Oh I never knew that, I just always thought they came out the same. I've been playing through red lately on an emulator so maybe I'll text out different username combos on it.
