Yeah I think I might have burnt myself out from here without realizing. Had no energy to post, little urge to respond to messages. Next thing I knew I simply wasn't visiting much. (wouldn't say i'm fully rejuvenated but i'm not exhausted or bored at the thought of making posts). Coming back around.

I understand. Not much we can do about things out of our control. So no point worrying. Although that's easier said than done. I still struggle with it myself. And it's not uncommon to return sick after traveling. I hope you feel better.

...Came to realize I've been inactive for almost two months, aside from a post here and there.

I (finally) return. If you saw the discord message, well...you know what happened. (but it's been 3 weeks since I replied. oof).

I've been playing Pokemon Red. From the perspective of someone born past the 90's, who missed out on the 'pokemon craze'. I still think these games are fine. Not quite the buggy mess it gets labeled. Unless you actively seek out such bugs. Some of the quality of life features are heavily missed. Bag space and needing to switch my box manually when it gets full are huge ones. "You can't catch this pokemon because the box is full". My main team is a Wartortle, Clefable, Mr.Mime, and Nidoking so far.

And yes I do have the scarf. It's been a warm winter in our state so it hasn't seen much use.

How does it feel to be fully moved into your own spot and enjoying the beach life along the golden coast? Also just peeped you're super close to Asia now so you can go and live out your dreams of a tour of Japan since I know it's been on your bucketlist for a bit

I am unfortunately still sick. It's not nearly as bad anymore. Currently it's lingering and it's remaining around enough to make me feel iffy. I've never bothered to test for COVID. I came to accept that almost everybody on the planet will be exposed or get it. I don't fear it anymore. I have no problems wearing masks or taking the shots, but what else can we do? That said, I haven't even taken the recent boosters.

The weather in our state has been so peculiar. The other day it was 30f. Today it's 56f. If it's not too personal to ask, do you plan on staying in Australia or is this a short term journey for a bigger picture? Oh, reminds me of when I complained to my gym teacher that it was too cold. We had our classes outside and I was becoming vocal about not enjoying it. The next day, I discovered she purchased me a scarf. It was so kind. (Unfortunate side to this story: other kids were apparently calling the scarf 'feminine'. My teacher ran up to me apologizing) But I was like...nothing to say sorry about. I didn't care in the slightest. I guess I was past the age of caring and was going to wear what I wanted.

...I haven't been on the forum much. It's nice being back. I haven't posted in over a week. I'll be around, but I definitely have some catching up to do. Nice chatting with you again. On the other hand I kept my Discord because there are some drawings I don't want to lose. For right now, I'll just disable the account until I feel like going through and saving them to my computer.

For clarification: I mentioned not feeling well. It's ongoing. It progressed through the week and I spent last night in a total coughing fit. I'm hoping it eases up soon. The cold chills ended, but I still can't speak without coughing. I took throat lozenges. Eases the soreness, but doesn't take away the cough.

It's very warm here for February. 63 Fahrenheit. Then again, you are on the opposite side of the world and no doubt are facing warmer weather. To confess, I don't like bugs either. Or anything that's going to bite me or prickle my skin. Many bugs will bite for no reason. I'll take our dog outside and find bites across my leg. Some people are more attractable to insects and they definitely love biting me. We live in such a wooded area that wasps, hornets, any bug under the sun is fair game. Ugh, I don't look forward to spring. I like going outside in peace.

Oh, no problem at all. Thank you too. You were 1 of 2 people who wrote me a letter and I am very grateful for it. And yeah, I could sort of tell it was you. I guess when you speak with someone a while it's not hard to figure it out. Everybody has little nuisances when talking and it's not that far off from recognizing a familiar voice. We've chatted weekly since 2020.

My anxiety seems primarily activated through health concerns. When I noticed a cyst on the back of my shoulder, I had a panic attack. It's unfortunate. Simply being in the vicinity of a medical facility causes them too. Or other times it's completely random and I have no specific trigger. I haven't even played Elden Ring lately. I guess I don't have much patience for dying over and over. Not that I get angry. I just don't have fun when I'm not making progress.

I don't like bees. Or wasps. Or hornets. You get the gist. I've never been stung (which increases the fear, because what if I have an allergy and don't know it). I try to adapt the way of thinking of "I don't bother them. They don't bother me". We co-exist in a way. I guess it's worked so far. Until one day I get stung by a jerk. It's inevitable.

I sent you a letter for the event. I sent a few long ones. I poured my heart into them, but it was an exertion of energy. I haven't felt good since returning from that recent trip. (mentally and physically). Ah well. I'm thinking about perma deleting my discord too. I've been indecisive about it. Most of the time it's a graveyard of dead conversations and I find it just makes me really unhappy looking at it.

I guess if anyone wants to contact me, I'll be around here. It's not like I need it.

Ah, did you plan on playing Elden Ring? And yeah I just can't focus if others are in the room. Even on little sections like tutorials. I need to be alone to process information. Don't get me wrong, I love co-op. But can't do single player unless I'm alone with headphones.

Oh. What is it you don't like about bugs? Is it how they look, or a fear of being bitten? I admit, I don't like ants up close.

Going to the Caribbean. (Bahamas). It's a week trip. Going by way of cruise. It should be fun, although nerve wracking because it's my first time going into a foreign country.

I have 8 hours so far in Elden Ring and have only just cleared the first boss. I'm playing on a PlayStation 4 instead of Steam. My computer wouldn't be able to handle this large of a game. Speaking of co-op, there are certain games I only seem to enjoy on my own. This would definitely be one of them. It's an immersive factor for me. I lose that around the presence of others. I don't even like playing games with others in the room. In a quiet spot with headphones is best for me.

Yeah people down here set off fireworks over everything. Thankfully they seem to have slowed down. Last year they had been setting them off on holidays such as Presidents Day. Our dog doesn't like it.

...I had no idea snakes existed in New York. I've heard of huge rats being in the sewers. I'm getting a passport tomorrow since I'm leaving the U.S in the Summer. (just a trip outside). My first time leaving the country too.

Yeah, it was the first time trying it. I never had a green before. (oof not too proud of that, but that's why there's always room for progress). I'm definitely one of those not getting enough. But hey...small steps.

Ironically, I thought Breath of the Wild was really easy to get into. Playing Elden Ring right now which has a steep learning curve, and couldn't help but think I might be rather playing Breath of the Wild. I actually didn't like that particular zelda title. I liked the traditional games more. But yeaaaah I wouldn't mind seeing Pokemon take that approach. Taking a few years so we could get a really detailed and polished game. It won't happen, but such a thing would be nice. I think Pokemon would have tons of potential.

I didn't know that about Australia. That's actually really nice, and I don't understand why others don't do that either. There are four states in the U.S without retail tax. Uh...so, any other neat differences I wouldn't know about? I'm actually curious.

Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon. Out of them, Delaware is the only one I've been over towards since it's our bordering state. Visited New York last winter right after christmas (and looooooved it). So atmospheric. Although covid was on a total rampage.
