    I just prefer seeing people talk and exchange ideas.
    The intention with Likes is really just to have them be a means to show someone you agree with them or found their post amusing without making a spammy post that's just a "^ This" or other generic "+1" post. Well, that and giving members what they want (a not insignificant number of our memberbase actually wanted them when they were implemented) so the forum doesn't seem like it's not keeping with the times or not giving members what they want.

    Dislikes will never be a thing, though. The community ruined any chances of that by being wholly immature and petty with negative rep when the Rep system we had was given a second try back in 2009 (iirc, it had been 2 years since they took it away in the first place). The remnants of that are actually the Post Comment system on the board that's not turned on by default.

    I've journeyed many a lands and met many a people during my days. I always come back to places I feel are the most warming and TPC holds a strange sort of fondness for me, even all these years later.
