Hey there, hope life is going well for you. When you get a chance, Priscilla is still waiting for an action in FTE. My suggestion to you is to sprint so you're joining Janp, Nah, and HyperMorian in getting ready to attack the last three enemy Pokemon in Round 7. In Round 7 you'll likely get some action.

My carriage drawn by a team Slowpoke has finally arrived so that I can delivery a reply teehee! I’m getting back into the rhythm of pokecommunity at last after a technological failure that held me back. I’m happy to return. Things are looking pretty around your profile as usual.

How are you Lina? I hope your Christmas holidays were amazing my friend! Also wishing you an extraordinary new year!

I'll throw some spoilers tags on this just because my message ended up much bigger than I expected it to, and I don't want to gobble up your whole profile. Enter if you dare!

There are indeed a lot of good adaptations of a Christmas Carol. I love pretty much every version I have seen too. Picking a favorite Christmas Carol is darn near impossible, most of them are 5 star classics. I’m tempted to pick the Muppets Christmas Carol because it makes me laugh so, and Michael Caine is just as great of an Ebeneezer Scrooge as any.

Choosing a Christmas Carol is very hard though because there are different elements I like from each version, and always enjoy the messages of goodwill and justice in the writing of Dickens that permeates through every adapton

You had an excellent Christmas movie list! How did I remember to watch Frosty the Snowman, but forget to also see Rudolph? T_T
The adorable gif is cheering me up though. And at least I didn’t forget The Peanuts this time! I recently received the honor of being called Linus. That might be a little generous for me, I thought that I was more of a Lucy, but I’ll take the compliment.

I also enjoyed watching video several ballets during the Christmas holidays. The Nutctacker with its enchanted giant Christmas tree is one that we see performed often in my family. There is a local production every year in my hometown, and my mom likes to cart everyone off to the show. It is I think somewhat nostalgic for her as dancing was yet another one of her talents, and she was a sugar plum fairy in her day. We also collect lots of dvds of nutcracker ballets Bolshoi, Dresden, the American Ballet company and more. My favorite Nutcracker prince I think is from the Bolshoi 1978 Vladmir Vassiliev. My favorite Clara is Alina Somova from 2013 Marinsky.

I was glad they used Misty Copeland in the Nuctacker movie. I found myself a new favorite dancer in Misty after I just recently saw a video from La Scala of her dancing Romeo and Juliet.

The peach pallette sounds lovely! I bet your mom loved it. My mom is a bit of a sticky fingers too. Fortunately my cosmetics are safe because we have different complexions and don’t generally wear the same colors. But she is very nosy about my essential oils. I try to hide my bottles, but the peppermint, clove and lavender have all mysteriously disappeared. I shall have to investigate.

She definitely loves the herb garden!! I'm not loving it so much though because that ultra violet light is a lot more annoying than I thought it would be. She keeps it in the kitchen, displaying it with pride, and the whole home ends up looking like a lighthouse even when every other light is turned off.*hiss* I feel like a vampire perishing under extreme sunlight!!

I hope that you get to the United Kingdom too Lina. A journey back to where your ancestors came from.

My toes have tapped to a Celtic tune more than once. On last Saint Patrick’s day I was lucky enough to be invited to this wonderful concert of traveling Celtic tenors. All of them had the voices of angels.

My, what an interesting background you have! French, Celtic, Russian. No wonder you are so artistically-inclined. You might have an impressionist painter, dance impresario or pioneer of fashion somewhere in your family tree. As Hellen Keller once said, “There is no king who has not had a slave among his ancestors, and no slave who has not had a king among his.”

History and world culture is fascinating to me, and I have decided to perform an ancestry dna test to find out more about my own heritage. I’ve been a little reluctant because they’re awfully pricey, and it still is only a little piece of the puzzle because such tests can only show you about the last 6 generations of your ancestry unbroken I believe. Still, I will happily take any new information I can get when I have some spare change. It is all part of your past.

My mother spent some time looking through the archives at and had some success tracing her European heritage, which she says is U.K and French. She told me her father’s last name Wharton is an anglization of the French Quarton/ Charonton. I have no idea about the etymology so you would probably know better than I with your French-speaking skills.

My mother passes down a lot of colorful family lore, and says that we have some Native American ancestry too on her mother’s side. I have no idea whether this is true or just a legend, but her mother’s mother was said to be half Cherokee Indian. We don’t have documents to verify any Native American ancestors, though it is an interesting possibility. Who knows? America is a melting pot of so many different cultures.

Since we are traveling through many different countries in Africa this summer, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, I wish to find out where my father’s ancestors came from before we go on vacation, and maybe visit that country. We are likely to have West African roots on my dad’s side because it was mostly people from the west coast who were brought to the United States through the transatlantic slave trade. But where were our forefathers from Mali? Ghana? Togo? I’d love to know.

If you travel to Japan you must tell me about your adventures there! Take photos, and live the good life for me.

Buddhism is indeed fascinating. I was also raised Christian, yet I have always enjoyed learning about lots of different religions ever since the 6th grade when I first got to study Greek mythology. :)

Some people view Buddhism as a philosophy rather than a religion at its core level. Since Buddhism does not have personal deities, I can see why it could be studied as a philosophy. It is at least not an ideology in the way that one might expect. For Buddhists the Buddha is not someone you worship. It is not the same as Christians would worship Jesus. This was one of the key distinctions for me as a western outsider looking in, contrasting Buddhism with other Eastern religions like Shintoism or Hinduism that have a polytheist belief system.

Buddhism is not denying the existence of a God above us either, it is just not about explaining the origins of the universe. It is neutral. What Buddhism is about is letting go of the ego, and freedom from suffering. Buddhists believe anyone can be a Buddha, and the practices that we typically associate with Buddhism such as charity, meditation, simple diet and lifestyle are techniques for disconnecting from our current material world to find enlightenment, or that “serenity” you referred to so accurately.

I think attaining such a level peace of mind is something we can all respect and let into our own lives to live more constructively and help others as well as our selves, whether we do it as Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Muslims or by another name, and think I that this is fundamentally what we all do seek ultimately.

I’m the one that is rambling now I guess, but my conversations with you always lead to such interesting places that you’ll have to forgive me if I also get overly-excited ^_^

I’m sending many blessings your way, and hope that you are having a wonderful weekend.

I keep forgetting that most schools have a semestered system - my high school left all the exams for the end of the year and most our courses were year long. I know this is an important year for you because of university applications, good luck on your finals!
