Damn it! I haven't changed my voice, I wonder what the hell happened. I'll have to fix this, I can't allow it to stay that way.

Requesting that you please move my Penguin Camera thread to Other Chat. I realize it fit into there better than Culture and Media.

Your OVP rape has pushed the accent challenge inexcusably low on the list! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!

Depends on what's going on really. You could get a tour of the parliament building or see Casaloma. Thing about Canada is that because it's so big, all the touristy-spots are spread apart. Like Wonderland is about a 40 minute drive from the downtown core.. and going up to Blue Mountain for skiing would be awesome, but that's another hour and a half drive :c..

BUT what's also good is that Toronto has a lot of festivals going on.. so just google them up and see what's going down. There are sometimes food festivals, music and art or film.. etc. Sometimes they close off a road for it and sometimes it'll be in a square.. so yeah. Check what might be going on. I remember near the New Parliament building there was one day I randomly went down there just to hang out in the evening and Lady Gaga was there preforming.. lol it was when she wasn't TOO big or anything so they did like a public gig for some MuchMuisc thing. It was kinda cool.. but it was funny cause I had no idea. But yeah.. since Canada's fairly new.. there's not too much in terms of History.. but OH! If you want you can check out the Distillery district for yummy food and drink and art!

Inokashira is kind of on the edge of Tokyo so it would take some getting to. It's a park in the city of Mitaka and in the middle of the park is the Studio Ghibli Museum.

Hey! Depends on what you wanna see, really! Want to do a lot of shopping? Queen street West is awesome. Want to see Chinatown? That's Queen and Spadina. Do you want to go on the Lake? Or you can take a ferry to Center Island. What about having some delicious Korean BBQ for dinner on Yonge Street? Do you wanna check out the busy Dundas Square? @[email protected] I'm not good at touristy stuff because I've lived there for so long but those are some of the things I like to do when I go downtown.

Wait. Inogashira isn't on the Yamanote line. Oops. Got my geography messed up there.

And woooah, Kabukicho. Is there some reason in particular you picked that area hint hint. Be careful you don't run into any Yakuza there.

Okay, so you're already going to a festival. That's good. You can see some dancing, take pictures, eat takoyaki. I've only been to, like, two parts of Osaka: the castle, and the shopping area, Namba.

In Tokyo I could suggest you go around the Yamanote train line to all the different 'areas' like Shinjuku, Harajuku, Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Inogashira, etc. etc. but I don't really know what you want to do with your time there so I don't know if you would really care to see all the gothic lolitas in Harajuku or the maid cafes in Akihabara.

Kyoto has temples galore. If you want to see a famous area there is one called Gion, slightly out of the way from the city center, which has some temples and old things. Sometimes you can see maiko (geisha in training) rushing around looking annoyed that people are taking pictures of them. Kyoto has some very famous temples, Ginkakuji and Kinkakuji, but I haven't been to see those so I can't say much on them.

    I have.
How long you going there for? It isn't a city like Toyko, more like Bristol if you know what I mean. Really peaceful and royal family lives there. Markets and such are really cool.

Apologies for those expecting a Futurama reference, but I can assure you that I have not missed a 'the' in the title of this blog post.

I assume that maybe three people will check this out (those three being shenanigans, maccrash and Rest), but I thought I'd do my part to publicise the brilliant new short animated film World of Tomorrow by Don Hertzfeldt. The brief synopsis is below, although...

So... it's been a while! But it'll be worth it when you see evidence of my visit to London's first cat cafe! Similar to the ones in Japan, Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium opened up on March 1 of this year in London (about 15 minutes from my house)... and it's already fully booked up until June! Deservedly so, as well. Home to about 10 rescue kitties - all adorable - it's a supremely relaxing environment where you can read a good book (on offer included The Art of War by Sun Tzu, Long Day's Journey Into...

A bit of background is necessary for this one, as it's my favourite in this burgeoning 'series' of blog posts and a bit of context goes a long way.

At the end of last month, in and around Thanksgiving, I went to the US for just over a week to visit some friends out there (one in New York who is from there originally, the other in Virginia who's doing an internship at NATO for 6 months). I'm lucky enough to have been to NYC a number...

A pretty interesting article comparing Nintendo's recent fortunes to those of Walt Disney Animation Studios in the early 1980s.

If you like either of those things (whether recent or from the early 1980s), I suggest checking out this article.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

(I haven't totally left this place forever, just yet. :D)
