I do believe the Latias will still make an appearance, just not as the main character. She has a pretty interesting backstory: she's not a robot, but she has some serious cybernetic modifications.

I just started my third quarter of classes on Monday, but otherwise I'm in the same situation.

Fic-wise, I've actually been thinking a lot about Mastermind: I have so many ideas it's not even funny. Lots of science insanity, to be certain. Did I ever tell you that I was originally going to have a Latias be the main character as opposed to Mewtwo?

Yeah, I noticed that as well. The mods can probably still tell who people are, though, so don't do anything too crazy.
