I disagree with the assertion that IQ is an accurate reading of anything, but I won't really go into detail about why. Suffice it to say that trying to measure one's ability to learn isn't something that can be done with a few hours and an arbitrary number.

I think that at least one or two extra-curricular activities should be mandatory, as it encourages interaction and builds social skills, something which would otherwise suffer from a prolonged school day. Also, it's a good chance to meet people with similar interests. The only exception would be for people who need to do work, like children of farming families or economically-challenged people.

Oh I think I get it. It's because they're like cherries which make great pies, right? That must be it. It's the pies.

You know, I think I've changed my mind. I think a thread for requesting maps isn't actually such a bad idea. The problem is going to be finding people who are willing to donate maps to strangers (another problem might be what if someone donates a map to a newbie and then that newbie leaves). But I could maybe see it happening. Still, I would recommend talking to Cirno about it.

Well if you really want (since you're pretty much the only person who's doing it), you could put a little note in your signature saying that you will make maps for people. Y'know, like an advertisement or somethin'. Though I can guarantee that you're going to get a lot of SPAM :[

IQ is a (flawed, IMO) measurement of inherent learning capacity. It (supposedly) measures our ability to learn concepts, but with enough practice, most people can learn any concept. Studying doesn't affect IQ, but if you study more, it has the same effect as having a higher IQ (or so they claim). Different ways of learning aren't really related to IQ; IQ is supposed to be able to tell ideally how fast someone can learn, teaching methods notwithstanding.

I think that school should last longer and start earlier, but that there should be a break in summer. Ideally, I think secondary education should start a year or two earlier due to the lengthened school year, and we would have most people leaving college with a degree around 20ish instead of 22-24ish (high school education would end around age 16 on average). Fewer years being educated but with the same amount of material means we can start getting people to the workforce faster, and thus we'll have people start being productive earlier in life, which would help society as a whole.

The amount it changes by is small enough to be classified as statistical noise (variation in testing procedures). Also, it's hard to learn to become better able to learn.
