  • If anyone wants to battle on Pokemon Showdown PLEASE message me! I'm looking for people to battle with and I'm okay with any tier. :)
No worries, I know what college is like. Is this your first week back? The buses at my school weren't too bad, but the drivers decided to go on strike during exam season one year. As a result had to walk home after spending the entire night on campus. ><

I live in Ontario, though I am very close to the Québec border. French was compulsory in school here until grade nine, and we had the option to take French immersion. Sadly I did not, but I've been trying to make up for it in recent years. Which of the states are you from?

We're less limited than we used to be at least, but some of the limitations are still weird, like the lack of dresses this gen. Also there appeared to be more makeup options in Gen VI, but we couldn't wear it outside of the photo studio. How weird was that? xD And I totally agree about highlights and lowlights! =O We're going to be so disappointed when they don't include this stuff now...xD

I'm exactly the same way with games! I love large open world games, but I have quite a few that I've yet to complete, including Skyrim and Xenoblade Chronicles. I haven't even completed Super Mario Galaxy 2. *sweatdrop*
Wow, are you studying English at college or university? I don't like English class much myself(which is weird because I love writing haha), but I did take a class in university. But it sounds like you like it, so I hope you enjoy it! :D And you don't seem a shy person at all! xD

As for Japanese, I can read kana but more often than not I don't know what I'm reading. *sweatdrop* I don't know many kanji either, as there are quite a lot to remember. I printed off a list of all the symbols grade one students are expected to know, and was insane! Though I imagine you get used to it if you see it everyday. That's undoubtedly why I was able to pick up French rather easily; I'm in a very bilingual part of Canada, so I see and hear it on a regular basis.

I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with the customization options. You can see here how much I've thought about it. ^^ I didn't include longer hair in that list though. :O That would be nice too! My character in Sun only has medium-length hair because I don't really like the style of the longer version. xD

I definitely recommend Breath of the Wild. It is huuuuuuge, so much in fact that I'm still far from completing it(I'm trying to do it without a guide, but I'm probably going to crack and see what I've overlooked at some point before the year's end). The main story is somewhat small imo, but it makes up for it will all the sidequests.

I used to have a lot of clothes too, but I got rid of a bunch when I moved a few years ago. I'll slowly get back to where I was though. It's a good excuse to look into new styles. :)
I can only speak English fluently, but I can read and write in French and I'm trying to reach that level in a number of others. I've picked up a lot of Japanese from anime though; I once realized I understood raw episodes of Mermaid Melody more than the Italian dub(which is nonetheless excellent). I assumed it would be the other way around though. Can you speak Japanese?

I've slowed down a bit on the Nuzlocke recently though. I was posting once a day in the beginning, but now it's more paced out. And nope, I'm not using TM's at all for this. I've been selling every one I get, and that'll include Earthquake. :( Thus Ivanna's strongest STAB attack will be Poison Sting haha.

I hope the buddy Pokémon return, but my most wanted changes include Pokémon gyms and an overhaul of the customization feature. They need to get rid of version exclusive items, and bring back dresses after having some nice ones in X & Y.

Oh, you'e getting a Switch? That's awesome. I'd love to get one myself but I'll be waiting a little bit longer for it. I'm more of a Zelda fan, and I picked up Breath of the Wild for Wii U instead. :D

My preference for cool weather is more biological really, because my pale skin is absolutely horrible in the heat. I either need lots of sunscreen or to stay away from shorts and sleeveless tops. xD

And you're interested in fashion, eh? I can never keep up with everything, but it's fun to try. ^_^
Thank you so much! I love hearing people's reactions, as it makes me want to keep going with it. ^^

I definitely agree with you about failure, particularly with language learning(which is a hobby of mine). Some seem overwhelming at first, but once you break them down they begin to make sense. And some of the best ways to learn something is to mess up and then get corrected. ^^

And good for you with the singing! :) I still think I'm a horrible singer myself, which is why I only do it when no one's listening. :P

The girl is six(though she was two when I met her), and the boy is four. I hope I get to see them again soon! I doubt they'd mind either once they find out how much I'd let them get away with haha.

It was really surprising to see Luna as a toy, but it made some sense once I realized how much effort it must take to produce a live action talking cat. Sabrina the Teenage Witch did the same thing with Salem iirc, though it was a lot better than this.

Hmm, I am somewhat looking forward to Pokémon Sun and Moon, though it's not the same hype as when we're starting a new generation. What do you think? I'm probably more anxious about the arrival of cooler weather in the coming weeks. :D
It's my first ever Nuzlocke so I thought it would be fun, and so far it is. Thanks for reading by the way! That's how I first beat Brock back when I was just a beginning trainer; it was my brother's game but he couldn't do it, so I took over and came up with that strategy. ^_^

I used to do cartwheels when I was little, but I hurt myself and stopped doing it altogether. I guess I'm a scaredy-cat in general, not just with scary movies. =O Though learning from my mistakes is something I do a lot in other areas, like school, relationships, Pokémon, etc. ^^

And yup, my brother has two kids, a boy and a girl. I've only met the girl though and she's adorable. ^_^ I don't think I could do the same however. For one thing I'd be a terrible mother, letting my kids get away with anything and everything. *sweatdrop*

Rewatching Death Note definitely sounds better than watching the movie IMO, as live action adaptations rarely if ever do well. I watched a little of the Sailor Moon one and I didn't like it much at all. Luna the cat was a stuffed toy! xDDD I'll keep my fingers crossed for One Piece but I'm not expecting much. Heh

Consider yourself lucky! For me, everything comes out of my pocket. I don't even have a full job yet so when I do even food is gonna be off the menu, haha. That's the life...

Haha, I see. The reason why I'm curious is because I was wondering if you were from a country where Abba and the Bee Gees were never a hit, but they're definitely one in the United States! I think you need to listen up. Especially to Abba. It's like... a must listen. Everyone knows Abba!

Damn, who are you gonna get to order you a Switch for Christmas? O_O I had to buy my own! I'm an adult so people don't tend to want to buy me nice stuff anymore. It sucks.
My Ultimate Nuzlocke! I've been playing through Yellow Version and making it into a fanfic-like story. It's been fun. :) I don't think I've made a thread in Off-Topic for years. I used to make a topic about snow when it first starts to fall in my area, so I'll see if I can revive that tradition this year.

Wow, you do gymnastics too?! That sounds like it could be fun as well, albeit challenging. But it should get easier over time, which is something I've been experiencing with my own work-outs. That said I wouldn't do it if I were exhausted, so I don't blame you for passing it up the other day. ^_^

We've done that before, my brother and I, but I was still a scaredy-cat lol. He lives a thousand miles away with a family of his own now though, so we don't get to do that much anymore. His wife has to deal with him instead haha.

And yes, I know about the Death Note movie, but I've only seen a few minutes of it at an anime convention. Ryuk's animation seemed a tad out of place, but it otherwise looked alright. Have you seen the whole thing? It was recently announced that One Piece will be getting the same treatment(as a TV show though, not a movie), and I am worried that the result will be horrible. =/

When do you think you'll buy a Switch for yourself? It's definitely a worthy purchase! Did you see my previous question? :]

I agree with you! Pop is a... confusing term. So many things can fit under it. I'd say you're right though.
I'm not too tired at the moment, but get back to me in a few hours. xD There wasn't much going on today so I updated one of my threads here on PC. ^_^

But I understand why you were tired! Wow, that's not much sleep at all! I've done that before, and just be a zombie the following day. But it sounds like it was worth it though if you had a good time. :)

I totally understand what you mean about jump scares, as I am the same way. I'd sometimes have trouble sleeping afterwards too. =O It's one of the reasons I keep my eyes shut or avoid watching altogether. And my brother of course had to be the exact opposite, as he loves the genre and watches it all the time.
I've heard the comparisons between Code Geass and Death Note, though only after having already watched both. And I definitely agree with you about Code Geass being better.

I do the same thing, getting ideas from people and nature. It's one of the things I like about going out for a walk or run.

I'm not too good with horror because I'm a scaredy-cat. ._. I'm not as bad as I used to be though, which is likely thanks to Supernatural. *_*

I have the most standard but big releases, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2. For BOTW and Splatoon 2 alone, it's worth it. Splatoon 2 is really, really great. Already put a ton of time into that. I'm also incredibly excited for Odyssey which I think is gonna be considered the best Mario game of our generation.

I used to love JPop, but I got more into different kinds of music as time went by. :') Tbh I don't know if it counts as JPop but I used to love Home Made Kazoku. They're fantastic.

I'm surprised you haven't listened to ABBA or the Bee Gees. Which country are you from? I'll listen to that soon btw, Yes is a good band.
    A
You should definitely give them a try, they're all super good. And I agree, my 3DS hasn't seen any use at all since I got a Switch. I highly recommend Rune Factory 4, it's so good.

That's cool, don't listen to or enjoy most them to be totally honest but it's great to see you have such a passion for music! A few that come to mind are David Bowie, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, George Michael, Bee Gees, ABBA, The Weeknd, Beck, Daft Punk, Brian Eno, Oasis, Radiohead, Elton John, The Beatles, Kate Bush ect ect it goes on and on!
    A
Have you tried out Stardew Valley? That's a lot like Harvest Moon and it's one of my favourite games ever. Or perhaps Rune Factory? Also like Harvest Moon, just more fantasy.

And yeah, David Bowie is incredible. Who else do you listen to? I've got a list! ;D
    A
Oh! Apparently that's someone else, my bad. I just assumed Bri Mari... Marina... haha.
    A
Btw are you brimarieve on Instagram? Insta just randomly gave me a recommendation to follow you and you're followed by two people I know here, haha
Yup I got to see the peak :) Not very dark, but a very interesting shade of blue! I was in 90% totality. And it did get cooler! It was sooo nice for those 10 minutes lmao
    A
Which game did you play? All of them are good in my books. B)

That's a very tough question! I've listened to every single Bowie song in EXISTENCE but I'd probably say Low. Station to Station follows closely behind but Low is just fantastic. It really resonates with me. Do you listen to David Bowie?
