  • Sooo it turns out I was the one who made a mistake. That thread wasn't 2 month old, after all. Don't know how I misread the date. Sorry for any trouble! :[
Of course, that's fine! :3 Just message her and tell her you'd still like to be mentored by her! ^__^
Well the one I have to use at school is pencil 2D but the one I use personally is the Realusion 2D and 3D programs, but ill check out the one you said, were can i get it?
Cool! So what programs do you use to animate at the moment! A really good traditional one that I've used before is called Digicel Flipbook! You should check it out! I believe it's free to download, too!
Thanks :) I have some work on the computers at school but ill have to get them on a memory card first, I generally spend free time at school playing with the animation programs. I'm not really that bad at drawing, its just getting what I draw to work how I pictured it in my head.
Ah! I thought I replied to this! I guess Pokecommunity killed my post!

Well GCSE's are qualifications you get at UK colleges. (I don't know much about that because I was born and went to school in Canada, actually..) but to be an animator you just need to have very solid animation skills- shown with a demo reel.
I learned 2D animation throughout uni.. and we did do like 3 months of 3D animation as an introduction, but I basically taught myself. If you have strong 2D skills, it is more likely you will be able to bring them over to 3D. But don't worry if you're not the best at 2D.. I know some great 3D animators who can't draw. Drawing helps but it's not everything.
Solidify your animation skills.. so.. balance, weight, timing, spacing, etc.
I recommend doing stuff on your own, too! Do you have any work that you'd want to get critique on?
I think joining the 11 second club will also be great practice too- you can get feedback from fellow animators there, too. (Check it out.. just type 11 second club into google.. it's a cool site.)
I worked my butt off because I wanted to get better myself. Not all the teachers or resources were good at my school, like yours, but if you're willing to work hard you can achieve it!
What do you think of my profile? Looks funny isn't it?

I'm not changing it for a while because of one of the events going on right now, the Prettiest Profile Contest. Do you plan on customizing your profile?
Yeah, trust me they are the most fun sections here and there's not as many rules as the other sections.
I see you have Twitter, would you like to follow me?

The link to mine is in my signature. I'm at @Hikari10Girl.
You might be talking about Battle Center, it has a subforum there for events and tournaments.

There's also two subforums for Rate My Teams. And have you checked out our Pokemon Showdown server yet?
Out of what you mentioned, I'm pretty active in the clubs (specifically Pokemon Clubs).

The trivia boards, New Users/Welcome and the Pokemon gaming boards is where one is most likely to find me.
Thanks, I haven't been around as long as Kura but I still love helping new users.

Any particular parts of the forum you want to check out?
Hello Mitchell, you may have seen me in your intro thread.

And how are you enjoying Kura as your mentor? She's a pretty old member here now so she has loads of experience here.
That's cool! Yeah I can definitely help you out; I work as a videogame animator right now so.. yeah! Can chat about that and you can ask me anything you'd like! Do you have skype or MSN or something that may make chatting a bit easier? If not we can stick to VMs; it's all cool :3
Heya Mitch! Welcome to PC!! I oversaw that you love animation and games and you're looking for a mentor! I'd be happy to be yours if you'd like that! :3

Timezones are good! I may be on a little later than you because I have work usually until around 5-5:30 (I have flexi hours so I get home anytime between 4:30-6) but I'm usually online until late at night. (I'm in the UK too so you don't have to worry too much about timezones)

Anyways, it's nice to meet you!
