    OK, here's the code as it currently appears. I'm not sure I can compile my hack again with the code in that state, and I sure as hell can't get the code to work like that, so what do I do with it from there?

    Update on the test: Caterpie evolved into Metapod, but it didn't learn Harden. At least now I know for sure it'll work when I get it working.

    That problem I think I fixed. Something apparently went wrong when I was preparing to make a preliminary copy of LearnMoveFromLevelUp in an initial attempt to get started on the LearnEvolutionMove function. Thankfully, I was able to fix that and am currently in the process of testing the LearnEvolutionMove function, which means all we have left to do for that now is to figure out how to polish it up, apart, of course, from the removal of the comments.

    I just tested it, and after my Bulbasaur finished leveling up following the first rival battle, the game froze, but the battle music continued to play like normal.

    Oh, is there a way to add the ability to learn moves by evolution? FIQ on the Discord chatroom recommended to check the evolution code, create a table with species and moves, and add a call for LearnEvolutionMove right around where the existing call for LearnMoveFromLevelUp is, so let's start with that.

    In case you were wondering why I put TCNS Alpha 4's release on indefinite hold, I did so because of the French translation goldmine I'd discovered since making the original hiatus announcement. I resolved then and there to make Alpha 4 a bilingual release, in English and French. Of course, I do intend to release Alpha 4 at some point in the near future.

    I'll admit I know more about how Gen 1's code works than about how Gen 2's code works. Haha.

    Oh, you think you or someone else could disassemble the Spanish version of Red/Blue? Because I might need some help from that disassembly, if one should exist or be made sometime in the future, if I'm to include a Spanish translation in my hack's releases. Right now, though, I'm perfectly content with translating my hack to French based on pokered-fr.

    Biography
    Hey guys, I'm Mateo. I was the co-founder of the Skeetendo Inc. Hacking Group (before it was a community, when it was just me and Pyro). I'm still a huge fan of Gen II, and so I still enjoy playing and hacking those games. I'm currently working on a "Johto Legacy" series that continues the story of G/S/C that consists of the "Pokémon Christmas" hack, and an upcoming prequel called "Pokémon Spirits and Legends" (that currently has no thread here).
