    For some reason, it doens't even in a Vanilla FireRed rom.

    Ok, but things like giveitem 0x0 msg_find and other scripts also changes the value for the variables from 8000-800E. Meaning I have to add the "setvar 0x8000 0x0" after every giveitem or script events. Is there a way bypass this or I'll just have to suck it up and add the setvar 0x8000 0x0 to the end of every script?

    The variable can only be changed on variables from 8000-800E, even in a vanilla FireRed rom.
    Any idea?

    Just in case, for toggle runaway. To change the variable. All I do is change the 0x8000 to something else, right? (so 5001 if I want the variable to be 5001).

    .align 2 .Variable: .word 0x020270B8 + (0x8000 * 2) @change to var of your choice if you want

    Can't. I tried setting the variable for Toggle Runaway to 5000, 5001, 8003, 8005, etc. It wouldn't work in conjunction with Shiny Charm Asm. In fact, the shiny charm 8002 0xFF (which garantees shiny) becomes "can't runaway" routine instead.

    Okay, I've found the problem. It seems like the code conflicts with FBI's Shiny Charm ASM code (or I've probs just compiled the code wrong). It screws up the offset at 0x3DACE. Anyway, thanks.

    ok, but variable 6000 is outside the usable range of jambo's variable extension asm. So it can neither be set or unset. None of the variables in the variable usable range works.

    Am I doing everything wrong?

    It's for the sugimori palettes thing, but I don't know if I did it like everyone's supposed to..

    Okay, it works now. I've changed the variable to 6000 (with Jambo's safe flag and variable extension). Why doesn't it work before? I mean all it's doing is sharing a variable.

    Well it shouldn't matter right? I mean even if the variable is set for Touched's mega evolution routine, I still shouldnt be runaway, right? Or is that not how it works?

    It doesn't seem to turn on. Like I can still runaway when i use it in my rom hack. Works fine in a vanilla rom though.

    Hi, sorry to be a pain, but just a technical question here.
    Your new toggling runaway code works great. It works in a vanilla rom. However, I can't get it to work in my rom, do you know what might be a problem (something to do with the offset or the rams?)?

    It should be noted that I've expanded the number of Pokemon/dex entry, have other ASM, follow me script, mega evolution and also Jpan engine and save patch installed.
