Okay. No particular reason to randomly chat, then. Good luck with MotM - December.

EDIT: Woot for you! You passed!

I was actually just thinking that myself haha. My map is a quite plain and yours has that creative spark with the ice port. :)

I do, however, have one more little tip to add. It might be because I'm a geography freak, but I consider it extremely important to visualize what you're trying to map out first as if it's IRL (or say, even, in the anime). Just imagine where you'd have a creek, which way it would flow, where it would cascade down a cliff.. imagine what shape the mountains take, how dense the vegetation is, what kind of vegetation there is. This will help you with any style of map you decide to create. Really, the worst maps are generally only like that because they are visualized by the artist as simply just maps in a game, rather than real places portrayed through a game.
I think you may be the twin brother that I never had.

Hey, I have been looking and I've been wondering if you know of any nice cave tilesets...I've been trying to incorporate an actual bridge into my map instead of a land one :D

Man, you're getting me even more hyped up about it. Thanks!
Nature is epic. I'm currently living in a nasty little town in the middle of NC right now. You really can't get out and do much here, and the air's not clean. It's nothing that really keeps a outdoors freak like me going anyways.
NC to CA is going to be quite the trip, though.

That sounds good too, I'll definitely have to look into that!
    You do volunteer work?

Almost! I'm moving to Napa veeeerrrryyy soon.
We have a lot of money saved up. I'm really hyped up for it, I hear it's gorgeous out there.

    But that's cool!

I'd be interested in hearing/seeing some stuff sometime!
If you're really eager to get out into making some hacks maybe you should post looking for help? I had to do that to prevent myself from screwing up my hack scripting for my game. D:

I don't regret it either. I've made some good friends looking for help too!

Wow, really? That's a surprise. I was a total noob.
I was really active on the forums, though.
I left the server with a level 80 sniper in Denkou Hana (or however it was spelt) and never actually WOE'd with them.

I know, it is cool. The internet isn't as big as it's made out to be!
Do you have a hack hidden around here anywhere by any chance?

You probably don't know me. I joined right when it seemed like you stopped getting on the forums.
    I was Casimir.
I remember there was one time you started getting back active on the forums too, but didn't stay that long.

The server didn't last very long itself so I don't blame you for not remembering much of it.

I feel like I've said this before, but I remember seeing you at ParadiseRO's forums back in the day. This is madness. :>

I'm just wondering, did you read any tutorials before mapping? Your maps are pretty good, and it's rare to have good, new mappers here in PC.

About Me

  • About Otter
Originally born in Ukraine, but moved to California when I was five. Haven't really moved (apart from like one neighborhood to the next) since then. I'm a junior in high school right now, and despite my supposedly huge workload, I somehow find the time to dabble in ROM hacking in my spare time. *shrug*

Anyways, I jumped on the Pokemon bandwagon a bit late. First game was Crystal, but I stayed pretty close with the series after that. Got into the "competitive" scene about 2 years ago and followed Smogon for a while, but decided that it just wasn't for me. Finally settled on ROM hacking, just since I love spewing my creative ideas into projects like these. ;p

I'm pretty new to hacking overall, but I'd like to say I have some talent as a mapper. Feel free to ask me for help or advice, just keep in mind I probably wouldn't have enough time to take up a position on a hacking team. If you ever want to chat about anything RO, swimming, hiking/backpacking, or environmental in general, feel free to leave a message!
