    1. If you're asking for the location of the text in the ROM, I can't help you there. All I know is that it's stored in 2BPP format so if you want to try looking for it in Tile Molester, remember to change your settings.
If you're asking how to display text via an ASM routine, sadly I won't be much help with that either. The font is not monospaced which makes displaying it very difficult. What I did for my flashback hack was actually taking a screenshot of the text I wanted (after making a script to display it) and then inserting that image in the ROM. It makes editing the text even harder but if you know what you want it to say, it's a perfectly reasonable method, in my opinion.

    2. If you can, I would advise you to stick with editing BG0. Unless you want to back up the tiles and tilemaps for the other backgrounds, you should limit yourself to one background (which shouldn't actually be very limiting).

That's good. After all, entertainment is the reason why we hack. If you're not having fun doing it, why bother?

Of course, I've also noticed that I get a lot more work done when I'm working on something that I enjoy, rather than on something that I'm being forced to do.

Well then. I'm glad I could help. :)

Can I ask what, exactly, this "seasons" thing is? I'm intrigued.

Uhm, you must have done a lot on your own because I didn't really help you all that much. :)

Me too! Dude we can make this better than any hack on the Hack Showcase, that's what I believe.

    Where are you from?

    Didn't get that sentence, explain.
Cool! S'pose we'll use that for Grey? :D
    Darker blue, it's better.

    Who said you're terrible?!
And who said you don't enjoy it XD
    (I enjoy mapping. :D)

Astar + Ray Maverick + Shiny Quagsire = Terribly awesome hack.
(Pretty much everything) + (At Least Average Looking Graphics) + (Powerful ASM)

    Hello, by the way. :D

I know Animal crossing has nothing to do with Pokémon but its a good way at showing seasons.

You should make the grass green in spring, greener in summer, brown in autumn and white in winter

Sounds like your working on something quite complex.
I don't quite understand how inserting code on the palette loading function will enable seasons?
Do you mean, if it's winter the palette that is usually for trees, grass, etc will be white instead of the usually green to make it look like its snowed?
As for using Colcolstyles flashback script, you know I'm not good at ASM so I'm very greatful for his help.
I know that you don't like to take advantage of others but it never hurts to ask.
If the person says no you haven't lost anything you didn't have before.
Plus at the end of the day if they say yes you can use it in your hack and make them feel proud knowing that other people are appreciating their work.

    Sorry for the paragraph.

I've never felt the need to use any disassembler other than the ones included in the various forms of VBA that I use so I don't know of one. Sorry.

Yeah, that's why you should backtrack until you find the routine which calls the palette loading routine when switching maps. You're on your own there because I'm an Emerald hacker.
Oh, and I believe that PC (r15) is only one instruction (i.e., two bytes) ahead of the current instruction. :\

It looks like the routine at '0x703EC' contains the code which loads the tileset palettes. The source is passed as an argument (r0) while the destination is calculated in the first part of the routine. The branch-and-link instruction branches to a SWI call which copies over the data from the source to the destination. However, you should be aware that this routine is used in numerous other places to copy palettes. If you want, you can trace where this routine is called from and work backwards until you find a routine which is only run twice when changing maps (once for the primary tileset, once for the secondary tileset). That would probably be a better place to put your code.
