I've got lots of things done/planned out alread:

Only thing I really need to crackle down and do is the scripting. It's never been my strong point. :P

So, I did it. I completely documented the table. It was very simple actually. The last 12 sets of data were two multi-type backgrounds (exactly the same, just two different tilesets, don't know why. They even used the same .raw and intro images) with 5 and 7 different palettes respectively.

    Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4pysh8cz6due767/Battle%20background%20notes.doc

That is all of the documentation. Only took about 20 minutes since it was only palette changes. I even documented the colors of the palettes.0.o

Now, I just have to get to writing up my section of the tutorial. All data and research is officially- DONE!

Okay then, well, this will be fun......

What if... We called the "The Ultimate Battle BG tutorial." Then we had you post your tutorial. Then, right after on the next post, I post my whole section explaining how the table is set up and how to expand it. Then I will go into how I made a patch to allow the control of battle bgs, explain how it works, and then provide a video to show it working. Then it will still be a tutorial in two parts, and we will both be able to edit our indivigual sections should we need to.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't belong in R&D because it really doesn't need anymore research:p. we just need to document the rest of the table, but the ASM itself is done and in the patch.

Another idea is that you post your tutorial and I'll post this patch with the explanation and then we put big bold links in each to the other.

Uh, can you make a General ASM Discussion Thread? It would help me and others and also promote learning of ASM (Stickying it would help!).

About Me

  • About DrFuji
Born from an egg on a mountaintop in 1871, I was orphaned into the care of Masai warriors in Tanzania, learning the arts of tracking, hunting and shamanism. I also developed the superhuman endurance for which the Masai are renowned, which proved incredibly useful when, at the age of eight I was adopted by the visiting 'celebrity' Kim Kardashian and was subsequently relocated to a household full of Ken Done prints and Jive Bunny CDs. As a result of my unfortunate adoption, I rapidly developed a deep, intuitive understanding of mediocrity, it's motivation, institutions and behaviours. After taking nineteen years to complete my Veterinary Degree, I relocated to Padova to study art history, where I developed my twin passions of 17th century European architecture and 18th century European architecture.

After completing my art history degree I skied on mountains all across the world, in an attempt to find my real egg-laying mother who so coldly abandoned me. During my trips I had to routinely reject my father's requests to manage the family's various business interests while I sought to bed as many beautiful men and women as time permitted. I now rent an apartment in Antarctica (That I do not intend to buy) with my defacto partner (Who I do not intend to marry) and my great dane, Heidegger (Which I do not intend to have children with). I am a semi-professional UNO player and deserve to have my bread buttered, no matter which side it is on.

Whelp, this is my first blog entry in the history of the internet so let's see how this works out. I doubt there will be a huge amount of activity here since I rarely post things without purpose and broadcasting things to a wide group of people just isn't my style so lol.

I'm here to regale you with a grand tale of tragedy and woe, the heights of which the great literary giants of the past would be unable to fathom. The emotions contained within my carefully chosen words...
