Well, I may add that my parents' mini-van is a 1998 Ford Windstar that's only on its second fuel injector. Plus, smaller sedans aren't the high-profit margin sales like SUVs and minivans were/are. A lot of the production expenses go into the engine. (b'-')b
It actually went Base, Jungle, Fossil, Rocket, Gym 1 (Heroes), Gym 2 (Challenge). I'm kinda a nerd when it comes to TCGs. ;P Except Yu-Gi-Oh!
Pretty much any car from the Big Three American manufacturers and Toyota can last forever and a half if you don't abuse them with jackrabbit starts, the wrong fuel grade (you don't need that premium unleaded fuel, it doesn't give you any boost if you're not fueling up a sports car), or frequent trips of less than 10 minutes, as it takes 10 minutes for the engine to reach its optimal operating temperature, usually. I got lucky with the Pokemon TCG HeartGold SoulSilver set by the sheer number of valuable rares I got that defied the odds. :D
That reminds me that I need to put away some more for a car now. And my mom wants me to get another minivan with more miles than the one of theirs I'm driving because it's newer and runs quieter. The one I'm driving's already got 166,000 miles on it, which is also a minivan, though. I would know about where the gas expenses fit into my budget if I bought it, though. XD;
I've had a bank card since I was 16. (b'-')b
And $10 is a lot when you only work 20-some hours a week because of school eating up another 20-some, and you put away $130/week combined for insurance, "new" car savings, and gas.
