Ah, okay then. Maybe later I'll change it to a smaller one, but for now I guess it's fine.

Ah, I see. The Araragi thing was when the game first came out and I forgot to edit it ever since then. The Joey script is a problem, I guess that's first on my bucket list. The Accumula Town one is just I haven't finished mapping everything in there yet (but I just got to Accumula Town in Black 2, so now I can fully map and script things out). Everything else is a simple fix, thanks for the help.

And thanks for the Pokecenter compliment, I got the tiles from DarkDragoon but it seems like the counter in front of Nurse joy is a bit big...

Hmm... that sounds like a good idea. Now I just have to get far enough to mapping that...

I am not the best thread upkeeper, I forget to update a lot... >.>
Yeah, that'd make it a lot more believable. Plus, everyone's been telling me to change the OW's, so...

That's gonna be a tough one, but I guess I'll have to do something like the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. Since I have no idea as to what I'd do without stairs to climb the tower in the first place. >.<

Well if you need any help, I can yell at you too.
Oh yeah, I had totally forgotten there was a thread. And now I can finally replace those overworlds, now it won't be weird when an old guy is acting like a young woman. >.>

Honestly, I think it's just when you take a long break from hacking (like I did when I started playing Black 2) getting back into the groove is what makes it difficult. That, and everyone has their own social life that is hard to find time for to pump hours into modifying a ROM. Plus, the Unova games use a lot of advanced things that make it difficult for the GBA games to keep up with (ex: Dragonspiral Tower's stairs, many of the bridges and its use of the camera, and the 3-D cut scenes).

Heh, you sounded just like me. My only hacking skills were badly edited maps and creeping around the scripting threads to know how to do what. I think you'd do great as a hacker, and if you ever get discouraged, you can just look in a mirror and your reflection will yell at you.

Nah, I was just planning on getting some progress into the hack before getting back to you. I realize that while I won't be able to get everything exactly the same, it'd be such a shame to not finish what I started, and your slap of reality helped me realize it.

No it already is set to snow on the route, but that itself doesn't cause it to hail in battle. I think it would require some asm hacking, which I don't know how to do...

Probably because of GBA hacking being much more simple. The thing most people are actually afraid of (without even knowing it) is that z80 processor used with GameBoy/Color can't execute data from anywhere in the rom at the time. Game Boy Advance is nominally advanced version of Gameboy. The processor it has is so much more advanced that it can do stuff GameBoy/Color can't - also leading into rom hacking being so much easier with GBA games than those of GB/C.

That's pretty much it. Also GBA games have "better graphics", I guess...

    Told ya, ;)
    Prism is good!

Actually, I'm quite familiar with everything Koolboyman has done there. I too have implemented several features that would have been impossible with the current scripting engine of the game only.

For example with battle enginge there; you may be controlling a different main character (similar hack to clothes and sprite color change in Prism) and depending on who you're controlling, the battle sprite and color of it are different.

You see that banner of Dark Energy in my signature; those two characters on the left can both be seen during a battle.

Basically, yes. Your hacks are yours to make. There is no universal opinion that decides what's good and what isn't so no hack is actually terrible.

My hack hasn't been posted here yet, I'll post it when I have significant progress.
I've actually tried to assemble a team here to work on a seperate project of mine: expanding 3rd generation's multiplayer capabilities. But no one volunteered so that's on hold.

If you think your hack is good, then that's enough. Make what you think is good, because you can't please everybody.
