Right before the Confuse Ray attack hits though, Supernova fires off a very intense Ember attack at the Golbat, burning it badly and knocking it out before it can do anything else.

Alright, so how does it look so far?

Before any attack is seen from Supernova, Fang shoots a Confuse Ray out of desperation.

However, the Shellder gives it very heavy damage with Ice Shard. The Golbat's wing is incredibly beaten up, and so it's grounded.

The now-intense heat along with the nasty hit to the wing leaves Golbat incredibly vulnerable to Supernova, who now slowly moves onto the battlefield. The intense heat is revealed to be a by-product of her Drought ability, which makes her very strong opponent to deal with.

She can fire off a single attack and knock out the Golbat in the first hit if she so desires now, thanks to Shellder's efforts in bringing the Golbat down to the ground (as Larvesta can walk a lot faster than it can).

Alright, so Squirts eventually goes down, and so does Gastly because the Ice Beam's direct hit happens to expose him. After all, a raging Wartortle is going to hit just about anything with a powerful ice attack.

BUT, the poison works VERY fast, and brings him down before he can finish the Gastly off. Gastly gets revenge-KO'd by the Golbat, which finds itself going up against an insane Shellder.

The battlefield is getting very hot right now, so both are going to get worn down fast, so this one will be a short round.

Unfortunately, if you keep guarding from an impending Toxic attack, Gastly will simply poison him eventually, on the way out. Even if it's just the tail, or anything, that Gastly is going to do some damage eventually.

Or, he could alternatively use Taunt, and take advantage of your Wartortle's anger management problems.

One does not simply dissolve poison. It'll spread very fast if he moves often. Withdrawing slows the poison's effects, and he might eventually hit him with a well-aimed Ice Beam (breaking the ghost's concentration), but by the time that happens, the damage will have been done, and the Wortortle will go down if he hasn't already.

If the Ice Beam does hit and he misses and goes down, he'll be easily dispatched by the Golbat, who would otherwise be on an endless playing field with the ghost, if he didn't disappear.

If the Wortortle lands his hit again and the ghost goes down, then Shellder will handily finish him off, and the Golbat will be under pretty extreme pressure to bring down a healthy Shellder that's already in a position to strike.

Wartortle will get poisoned by Gastly's Toxic attack as he withdraws, and Gastly will otherwise stall him out and remain invisible, while getting behind the trees for cover.

    What next?

So, we've got Mark's reaction of fear, and my Gastly just vanished. His voice is probably going to be sounding off in strange directions pretty soon -- his version of Scary Face. That's pretty much intended to keep the Wartortle in one spot from fear.

My bad. Had to step away for a sec. But yeah, that Gastly is going to stay pretty far.

He's going to probably play mind games for quite a while with your Wartortle until he lets his guard down. Either that, or he'll try poisoning him from the outset.

Either way, he'll be staying out of sight and reach (if he can) for long enough to stall him out until he simply starts making bad decisions.

Yeah, we need to work on segments together.

First off, he's sent his Gastly out instead of his Larvesta. The battlefield is already getting warm for an as-yet unrevealed reason.

What's your reaction to the new situation? Suddenly your type advantage isn't an advantage anymore, because Larvesta isn't even coming out to battle -- a completely invisible foe is.

The two of you, meaning you and Cosmic Fury, throughout the beginning of the battle, have been posting underneath the mandatory 100 word count, which may be hard to check if you're posting straight onto the site and not writing in Mircosoft Word, but that's okay.

However, you will need to make your posts longer. I have a suggestion towards you and Cosmic Fury, if you two haven't decided so already. One, pay more attention to details, what your character is feeling, what your Pokemon is feeling, what the environment is, so on and so on or two, you can create a joint post between Cosmic Fury and yourself, but both of you would have to agree to writing together.

    I hope you have a nice morning/day/evening.

Alright, I posted. It's a somewhat uneven battlefield, with quite a number of trees.

However, Adrian won't be moving much at all, simply because he's using his cane right now.
