Ok. Which makes our second speaker's argument a load of bullcrap. As with the example I raised in my point of information about how the CC-s would be able to prevent just that sort of thing.

Would you like to read long story about Ze Great Astinus?
    Yes.

I'm off to re-raise my post count to 80, brb. XD

Ok, sorry. Should I go delete my post or something?
[EDIT:] Ah, I see that you've done that for me. Thanks.

    So, are campus cops ineffective?

*glomps* Incidentally, on the way back, the radio station on the plane started playing "Land Down Under," and for some reason, it automatically made me think of you.

I'll jump on MSN once I restart my computer because it's all like, "Hi! I updated! I'm going to hit you with as many restart notices as possible until you do so! :D"

I said a while ago that I felt I hadn't been expressing my appreciation for all you do around here enough, so I just wanted to drop you a thank-you note. It escapes me how you can juggle being a mod, contest judge, and an integral part of the community while still having time for all of your obligations outside the internet. I think I speak for everyone when I say you have our utmost gratitude for keeping us entertained, making us feel welcome, and even for keeping us in line when necessary. You rock, Asty!

It was a joke, Asty :3; I know splitting the stories would be a half-assed cop put. Just wanted to lighten the mood. :<

Hm, well I got half of the entries done already, but I planned to finish off the Serebii ones today. I usually don't like this kind of thing because I believe the judges should look at all the works. Also, not sure the contestants' reaction to see only one review. However, I'm quite busy at the moment so splitting the entries can lighten the workload for all of us, so this shouldn't be a problem. I guess I'll be fine with this.

Curious, you liking this idea too?

(and yes, I'll let Gummy know about this)

Am I to take it that Campus Cops are therefore completely ineffective?

We won. See below for details.
    Spoiler:
Good evening Adjudicator, opposing team, timekeeper.
All NZ secondary schools should have a campus cop.
That is the moot that we are here to affirm today, we being the Hamilton Girls’ High affirmative team. I am Jessie. I will be espousing some of the virtues of our side of the argument and giving our model, our second speaker, Jamie, will talk about the costs involved and how children’s freedoms will be affected, while our third speaker, Meowth May [Just as bad! XD], will talk about opinions of several important philosophers on this and related issues, and will outline journal articles and newspaper reports that support our side of the moot.

Having a campus cop encourages prospective troublemakers and criminals to think twice before breaking the law, and so lowers the crime rate at schools just from the threat of being arrested.
Another benefit is that schools can deal with thefts and fights better, as a campus cop would have the training to defuse unpleasant situations.
The presence of a campus cop in each of New Zealand’s secondary schools would help as a nation-wide “safety net” for young people who might otherwise end up in New Zealand’s justice system.

In our model, a campus cop would have similar powers to a normal policeman, but would be slightly more lenient, as he or she would be based in a learning environment where the focus is not on law-breaking.
Students caught making minor offences would be given a warning, and informed that they were breaking a law. Second or third time offenders would be disciplined.
Students caught breaking major laws would be fined by the campus cop.
The campus cop would leave normal discipline to the school (for example, incorrect uniform or misbehaviour).
A campus cop would preferably be trained in the education and public relations fields as well as being a police officer.

    wtf why so many today ;^;
New plan: split the amount of stories between the three of us?

Yes Astycakes, as I said before I expect nothing until next weekend. Not even from myself. Right now I'm giving all the stories a quick read through, then I will write tangible reviews later. Also, just wondering, but do you have a judging method. For example, what I'm doing for the Grammar score is to give everyone a free-be for the first 7 mistakes I see, then I subtract 1 point for every addition mistake. As for the Literary Elements, I split it up into Plot, Description, and Characterization, and give each sub-category 3 points, plus that extra point which I may or may not give. This way if I really like the Plot, I give it a 3, sort-of like gets a 2, sub-par plot gets a 1, and little to no plot gets a 0. As for the prompt, I dunno what to do with that; I might just give it a score out of 5 and multiply by 2. Anyways, that's my basic plan that I thought I'd share with you, in case you wanted to use it.

(You don't need a plan at all, if that's easier)
