The Celtics, the Cardinals, the Red Sox, the Patriots, the Packers, the Bengals, the Heat. Is that good enough for you?

Matt Cullen. I totally wasn't even aware he was on our mediocre team, to be honest, unless his signing didn't get much coverage in the local paper and he wasn't on the team last season.

T-Wolves are futile. Vikings are just frustrating because they almost always choke in big games. The Gophers had been good for a while, but now they're mired in mediocrity due to not enough talent that actually goes together well (plenty of talent, not enough meshing).

I forgot who that is. ;; then again, I'm in full-on Twins mode at the moment Only name I really remember at the moment is Cal Clutterbuck, one of the best checkers in the league.

Minnesota Twins (MLB), Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA), and the Minnesota Vikings (NFL - they won the NFL "championship" in 1969, iirc, but they didn't win the Super Bowl that year) are the three besides the Wild I follow in the "major" American sports leagues. And don't even get me started on the futility of the two big money sports programs at the University of Minnesota (men's basketball and football). Men's college hockey at the University of Minnesota hasn't been too shabby, but they hadn't won a championship since the 1970s before picking one up in 2002. They're the school's other money sport.

They are. Which is annoying because my Wild are mired in mediocrity and their revenue helps support Tampa Bay.

At least they've won championships. There are two championships in the last 50 years between all of the major pro sports teams I follow, and both belong to the Minnesota Twins in the MLB (1987 and 1991), the only one of those franchises created before 1961 (they used to be the Washington Senators before moving here).

Interestingly enough, the Tampa Bay area is a heck of a lot smaller than Miami. Though the arena they play in is a lot closer to Tampa's suburbs than the Panther's arena is to Miami's suburbs, which tends to be where a lot of transplants from the Northern US end up moving.

    *goes to accept it*

Yes they do. They should've been moved to Winnipeg, not the Thrashers. Miami just probably will never be that big of a hockey town unless they move into a stadium in one of the bigger suburbs, since Miami's not really central to that metro anymore.

    Yeah, they kinda sucked.

Both had fairly fast and steady growth records when awarded franchises. Though Miami's slowed down some in the immediate vicinity of Miami itself due to a lack of space caused by the Everglades, Phoenix has not, and they're both metros of over 5 million people. Last I checked, Quebec City wasn't even over 1 million.

Look at the futility record of the North Stars in Minnesota before they moved to Dallas.

Canada doesn't have enough enticing cities left for the NHL to expand into. ;)

I dunno. Incompetence in a franchise can linger for years.
