Interestingly enough, the Tampa Bay area is a heck of a lot smaller than Miami. Though the arena they play in is a lot closer to Tampa's suburbs than the Panther's arena is to Miami's suburbs, which tends to be where a lot of transplants from the Northern US end up moving.

    *goes to accept it*

Yes they do. They should've been moved to Winnipeg, not the Thrashers. Miami just probably will never be that big of a hockey town unless they move into a stadium in one of the bigger suburbs, since Miami's not really central to that metro anymore.

    Yeah, they kinda sucked.

Both had fairly fast and steady growth records when awarded franchises. Though Miami's slowed down some in the immediate vicinity of Miami itself due to a lack of space caused by the Everglades, Phoenix has not, and they're both metros of over 5 million people. Last I checked, Quebec City wasn't even over 1 million.

Look at the futility record of the North Stars in Minnesota before they moved to Dallas.

Canada doesn't have enough enticing cities left for the NHL to expand into. ;)

I dunno. Incompetence in a franchise can linger for years.

I do see where it's a business advantage to try to build their brand in the Southern US, but they're squandering some of their power markets.

I don't think the Leafs are going to be any good next year, either. :x of course, neither will my Wild

I see you're a hockey fan. Darn salary cap doesn't help northern power markets like Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Vancouver, Detroit, Boston, and New York.

I don't mind vacations because our vacation house is newer and in much better shape than our main house... and it has A/C. Plus, we often stay at a hotel during the trip, and usually it's one I pick out so I'm sure it's not gonna be a dump xD
