When I do, remind me to tell you about my horrid horrid 45 hour working week and how badly it's kicking my arse.

So now I have to leave for work and I shall complete my response tonight afterwards! :D

You shall be privy to all the details of my private life, so privy that you could track me down and stalk me and kill me in my sleep. Of course if you did that you'd have nobody to stalk anymore so I don't know why you would. Stalker logic, I guess. Kill your raison d'etre.

    I don't even know what I'm saying it's 2:30 in the morning.

Beautiful flawless disasters to happiness dextrously monkey monkey underpants i love you never leave me

    I'M HOME!

I read your message days ago on my phone which has the power to connect to the internet and was very tempted to reply - but you see, typing on phones (even the iPhone, with its impressive capabilities in all areas of life) is incredibly annoying and I would never have been able to give you the reply you deserve from me

So my real estate debacle! Essentially what happened is this: I met this friend on Grindr (which, if you didn't know, is a gay dating app - most people just use it for sex but you can just meet friends there if you're especially lucky like I was) and he lived about 5 minutes from my house. He had two housemates who shortly after I met Luke (Luke is his name, just to catch you up to speed) decided that they wanted to up and move to Tamworth (a country town which is basically the country music capital of Australia - its name comes from Tamwoo, which in Aboriginal language translates to "If I Lived Here I'd Blow My Brains Out").

This meant that Luke was without two housemates and needed two more. He knew that I needed to get away from my parents and asked me if I'd like to move in and he got another housemate as well named Scott who is really cool. The thing was though that the lease was in the name of one of the housemates who left for Tamworth, and though we tried to have the lease transferred into Luke's name, they wouldn't allow that and would have had to make him apply just like everybody else. Even if he got the place he would have had to vacate and the rent would have increased.

So the only option, of course, was to leave Ben (the ex-housemate's name) on the lease and just pay the rent under his name, leaving the landlord and the real estate none the wiser. However Ben and his boyfriend Jarrad moved out on the 11th and took 95% of the stuff with them, and on the 13th there was a once-in-a-blue-moon landlord inspection planned.

This made the owners suspicious that something was afoot, especially as they seemed to be living without a fridge. So I moved in on the 22nd, thinking everything was fine, only to find out about half an hour after I'd moved in the last of my stuff that Ben and Jarrad had left the rent three weeks behind (a total of $1000+) and the owners had become aware that Luke was living there while not on the lease and were not happy about it. The real estate tried to smooth things over and we tried contacting Ben (who became suspiciously uncontactable) but eventually one week later it became clear that we would have to leave. So we started planning that night and then I moved back today and here I am! We had two weeks to move out but decided against leaving it that long because it would just accumulate more unnecessary rent

So the three of us really loved living together for that ten days and we intend to move back out together again early in the new year, but I am temporarily back at home - Land of the Internet Where I Can Talk To Barrels! :D

Also I feel it worth mentioning that I was reduced to a fit of laughter unlike any other when I read this:

One does not simply return, tail between one's legs, in three weeks time and beg for one's basket back.
I think it was the word 'basket' that got me lmao.

AND I'M SORRY! I was never much into Star Wars and only even saw Episode 5 on the insistence of my best friend Lauren, who wanted to show me how amazing it was. It was good, but I'm largely unimpressed by old movies so it wasn't all that for me. Besides, I already knew the jaw-dropping twist at the end and therefore some of the splendour was lost on me .

I then saw Episode 1 because it came out at the movies in 3D in February and I wanted to see if it was as incoherent and laughably terrible as everybody agrees it is. The moral of the story: 70 billion people can't be wrong! Not even the presence of the ever-grand Liam Neeson could spare it from the lacklustre dialogue, incomprehensible storyline and Jar Jar Binks.

The next trilogy is going to happen largely without the involvement of George Lucas, however, so this is a positive step! He can hurt the franchise no longer!

Also I would watch your videos but all my stuff including headphones are in a huge steaming pile downstairs and I cannot get to them just yet

I'm sorry! I am inexcusably late, but you should expect a lot of that for the coming weeks. I've moved out of home, you see, and I have no internet to speak of as yet . I'm moving back home in three weeks (just temporarily due to some long-winded real estate debacle) and so until such time my replies will be sporadic!

But au contraire! Despite only having seen two of the previous six installments (Episodes 1 and 5), I am very invested in the new trilogy and have been following its production closely. I am thinking it will be fantastic thanks to the exclusion of George Lucas, who destroyed Episodes 1-3 with his nonsense

I think Mel B might actually be our nasty judge. I've only seen a few snippets of the show, but she always seems to be the harsh one and then Natalie is the one who is like "That's not very nice Mel B! Did you have fun, Bella? Well that's all that matters, now go on you crazy dog you!"

I don't think Ronan is in charge, he seems to mostly stare into space and wonder how his life came to this.

Also I had never ever heard of Tulisa before clicking that link, I'll admit. I thought it was a poor African country, but it turns out that's Tunisia.

You didn't necessarily ask for a run-down of our X Factor history, but there you have it nevertheless!

Actually no that's my mistake! I think we did have Dannii last year but we don't now. Or maybe I just saw her on clips of British X Factor, I'm not sure

I have official word from my mother who actually does watch the show and apparently the judge line up is!

    - Mel B (Scary Spice, you are not allowed to not know who it is. You are only four years younger than I, good sir, and you were well and truly awake and lucid when the Spice Girls hit their prime. But, as you are culturally sheltered from your own country, this is her during the Scary Spice years and this is her now.)

    - Natalie Bassingthwaite - you may know who she is or you may not, but she's an Australian singer. Dannii Minogue told me the other day from her mediocre apartment that some Australian singers make it big in England!

    - Ronan Keating - you do know who he is. You do. Or else there is trouble.

    - Guy Sebastien - the winner of our first season of Australian Idol in 2003. I hope to God you don't know who he is, and if you do I pity your soul.

I can't be sure, but I think Brian McFadden was also a judge in previous years... we adopted him when he was dating one of our famous singers, Delta Goodrem... but they broke up and now nobody cares who he is anymore

It has been three days and I have neglected to reply to either of your messages! If you'll sit back and allow me to explain, however, here is why:

Now that we are no longer talking about Things Which Cannot Be Spoken Publicly, I made the decision following your latest PM to bring the conversation back into VM form. This meant replying to your PM as a VM, and in order to do that I would need to keep your PM open to remember what I was replying to. This means keeping a separate tab open for your PM while I had another tab open with your profile in it to type the VM. Multiple tabs.

Eventually, the enormity of the task at hand overwhelmed me and led to many "I'll get to that in a minute" moments, until then it was three days later and I am a horrible jerk who still hasn't replied to his dearest friend's message!

We do have the X Factor here, the judges of which include Scary Spice and Kylie Minogue's less-successful-and-absolutely-ok-with-that-yes-absolutely-ok-with-it-why-wouldn't-I-be-she's-family-and-i'm-happy-for-her-success-yes-I-am-I'm-happy-for-her-really younger sister, Dannii. I don't watch it though because I regard it as a Poor Man's Australian Idol . As such, I didn't understand a lot of the liveblog's references and now I feel like a massive failure because I'm sure it'd be hilarious if I knew what they were saying

I made sure to send it this morning before I went to work otherwise I would have forgotten again . So when you sign in it is there for your PERUSING PLEASURE. Capitalised for no reason other than it's 2:10am and my eyes are stinging and I'm tired and I want to go to bed but my fingers won't stop typing oh god the words just won't stop ack hockey puck rattlesnake monkey monkey underpants.

And hahaha of course I have a problem with his views! What you're seeing there is not respect for his opinion but an intense amount of self-restraint . I am the owner of that club, you see, and therefore I cannot be engaging in petty flame wars . It looks bad. I have to be a grown-up and set an EXAMPLE oh god I capitalised again monkey monkey underpants.

omg I forgot to send it. I did everything I needed to do yesterday and then figured once it was done it would automatically send to you as if by telepathy. Apparently not, so I'll send it around

And I said I wanted to, not that I actually planned to . But seriously you have nothing to be embarrassed about with that line, it's like it was from a movie it was so good! If everybody was that amazing when they "got a little too intense and over-the-top", there would be a lot more amazing moments in this world

And alright that is pretty bad translation. I'm interested in what he actually meant to say lol. Anyway who actually stops and listens to what anybody has to say in a Pokemon game? . Amateur.

About Me

  • About Barrels
I was born. Then I grew up. But that wasn’t fun, so I grew back down again and started catching Pokémon.

Most people are decent - and the more friends you make, the better life gets. So if you'd like to say hi, go ahead and do that thing! ;)
I like creating. Writing, drawing, vidding, programming… you name it, there’s a good chance I’ve failed abysmally at it. (Probably had fun though.)

In general? Philosophising about stuff I’ll never know, reading Brian Michael Bendis, ordering things I have no need of from Amazon, arting around in Photoshop and watching old Munsters episodes. Not all at the same time.

Snorlax. Since forever. I used to dream about getting a big ol’ Snorlax-shaped beanbag.

…Who am I kidding? I *still* dream about that.
