I do not know much about Australia, but I have yet to see an example to see a government get smaller, other than by a successful revolution. Of course, the rule is not always entirely true, but it sort of is. The only counterexample I know would be the Glorious Revolution in England, which after Oliver Cromwell's tyrannical rule, power was shifted over to William of Orange. However, while the people gained rights, this was a great move by the parliament to gain more power over the king. The US government has grown so out of proportion, the founding fathers would kill themselves if they were still alive. My children will be having to bear the brunt of the trillions of dollars of debt. Possibly me too. I think it could be child abuse to have more children because of this! (jk)

Except its entertainment, and people use entertainment for enjoyment. And because I really liked the anime, but wasnt scared, I must have been enjoying it to watch people die bloody deaths. Unless I was watching it for the mystery aspect, but I never go out of my way to watch mystery stuff like I do science fiction. So while the mystery aspect was entertaining, I must conclude at least half of my enjoyment must have been the gory parts.

    Or I'm just over-analyzing this.

The unfortunate thing is, while there are many people like you who vote with whom they believe will bring the best change or help the most people, is that no amount of voting or political activism can prevent the growth of the state. If only it does.

I can't tell if I had more of a negative reaction to the pizza or to a bunch kids/teens being tortured and dying gory deaths (not really a spoiler- its called Corpse Party lol). I think I'm the nasty person for not being taken aback too much lol. I think I'm used to this stuff now lol.

I do not expect people will do the right thing. That is exactly why there is a need for police and other services such as insurance, firefighting, and court systems. Generally the "people are bad" argument actually goes against statists.

What is naive idealism is trusting government to do the right thing, and trusting the people within it, and hoping it does not grow into a totalitarian state. This model has failed for thousands of years, and democracy only limits growth minimally (although Democracy IS the best form of government we know of, but it is terribly flawed). What is naive idealism is hoping the ruling class doesnt start wars, or inflate the currency, or do anything bad to anyone. Just in the past century, because of statism, hundreds of millions of people died. A great depression that led to starvation was created. Even in the US, large internment camps were created for Japanese-Americans. Racism was prevalent with Jim Crow Laws. Only government can create a perpetual war on drugs and terror that kill thousands people, or put thousands of people in jail for a victimless crime. The US jail systems are closing in on the amount of criminals held during Stalin's rule!

Rant over lol. Take it or leave it.

Ill save you more examples, but in the end, it is naive idealism to be a statist. Dont get me wrong, government can do great things. So this isn't "anti-government," this is showing how naive it is to trust it too much. You aren't narrow minded, or the worst of people (in fact you are respectful and nice).

Well the pizza tasted like plastic lol. But Corpse Party shows little children getting tortured and stabbed and worse. And the sound effects were amazing- makes you cringe even if you can't hear anything.

Lets talk about something nicer now lol. We can continue the conversation above if you want, but lets have a goal of 1 week before starting any new political stuff, unless its more fun like... who will the democrats/republicans nominate or something? How ridiculous is Donal Trump?

Are you scared of anything? Like bugs?

No you aren't. But the fact that you stated that anarchy is "no rules" and then went on to say that there cannot be any courts or police, makes anarchists think you know nothing about it (which you may very well do). What were those readings that disproved anarchism? I would like to read them if thats ok because its always good to hear the other side of the argument.

What kind of anarchism do these readings disprove? Anarcho-Communism, Anarcho-Syndacilism, Anarcho-Socialism, Anarcho-Mutualism, Anarcho-Primitivism, Anarcho-Individualism, or Anarcho-Capitalism? There are a few other types of anarchy, but they really only describe the reason for anarchy, not the economic system. For example, Anarcha-Feminism, Anarcho-Pacifism, Anarcho-Christianity, and Queer Anarchism.

Its good, but kinda nasty. It only takes 2 hours to watch.

    epic music
you either love them for real or you don't.... do not rattata at them that they were different back in the days and now they are bad just because you are stupid enough not to give the more recent albums a try lol

i think mike and chester are FAB, they both my fav

omg mike is so fkin talented.... it is scary how talented he is.... he can play piano, write epic songs, play guitar, he is an amazing artist (he can draw like a boss), he can rap like a god

seriously.... his kid should be soooooo proud that his dad is MIKE SHINODA

but the whole popularity thing seems to be big here , am i wrong
but what else do you expect.... every forum has a big or small group of people that are well known, people besides the staff
and that is mainly because they been on a forum for a long time and have a huge post count

    anyhow
    back to chester
    ....
    lol
omg he has got the cutest smile EVER, seriously
did i tell you i got a linkin park fan blog? - i do not remember haha, unfortunately not as active as it used to be but still a bit

i am a regular member too and i probably will always be.... but people taking the popularity thing so serious lol and the rank stuff
like .... hello, it is just a forum.
it does not bother me i do not have a special rank.... doesn't make me feel less important
in fact, i have been talking to a lot of people on my profile and they did not come to me because i have a special rank or something...
i believe people go and come talk to you if they see something interesting coming from your side.... is it not that simple? also, startnig conversations yourself for a change....

the forum life is so easy compared to real life and yet sometimes people make the forum life sound as difficult as the real life and i do not get it

    oh i agree
it is important that everybody is heard when there is something that is bothering them but i am just a little amazed by the current issues that are being discussed

so what you are a regular member i think....
and so what if there were cows everywhere
an admin wanted to do something nice for a friend or something, yeah it is a bit weird but i think people are making it more of a big deal than it has to be.

also... the whole moderator active section thing, it is not just a moderator their job for a specific section on a forum to be active and all that.... if no people are interested in it and do not post and do not create stuff in there....
all a moderator can do is moderate it and encourage people, there is nothing more to it

unless you force people by helding a posting contest lol

About Me

  • About gimmepie
    Quick Self-Introduction
I'm gimmepie. My actual name is Daniel but I generally don't use that much around the forums. Feel free to leave a VM.
    Biography
I've been around PC for a few years now and honestly I love it here. PC's grown to be oddly special to me over my years of using it an escape from real life and I've met a lot of great people and wonderful friends here. On PC you can typically find me in the Roleplay Theatre, Daily, Round Table, PC's Dubtrack room or The Underground. I often pop up in the Treehouse, Forum Games, Battling and Team building, the Lab or on our battle server too though. Basically I'm all over the place.

Outside of PC I'm a competitive ballroom dancer and enjoy spending my time social dancing, training or teaching at the studio I attend. I'm also studying to achieve my Bachelor Degree of Education (Primary) and a Diploma of School Aged Education and Care whilst attempting to become a freelance writer. If there's anything else you want to know feel free to ask!

PC Supporter since 2014 (Currently Crystal Tier)
Moderator of the Roleplay Theatre since June 2015
Moderator of the Round Table since September 2015
Moderator of the Underground since January 2016
    Daily Staff since April 2016

Most RPs GM'd at once: Six (I'm pretty sure that's a record but I dunno).
    Interests
My interests are pretty varied and they keep me sane when I'm supposed to be studying.

As I said before I teach at my local ballroom studio, I also train there myself as I am also a competitor. Dancing is one of the most important parts of my life.

I also love music, a very wide range of it too. I listen to everything from Rock to rap to country. My favourite band is Linkin Park but there are many other artists I love (far too many to list here so VM me if you're curious).

Pokemon has been a part of my life since I was about six. My first game was Pokemon Stadium for the N64 and I watched the anime religiously. These days I'm still in love with the franchise and I buy the main series games whenever they come out. I also sometimes battle on PCs Showdown server. These days I'm not as fond of the anime, but I haven't seen X/Y yet so I don't know.

I am a big lover of improvisational and stand-up comedy. I am arguably the biggest fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway in my country and I spend hours watching it and stand-up shows. I often consider giving stand-up a shot, but I struggle to be funny on cue and I don't have a very good stage presence.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy a bit of gaming sometimes. My favourite game is The Last of Us but Starcraft 2 is a close second.

I am an anime lover and, unlike Western shows with which I am very picky about genre, I will watch almost any genre. My favourite anime of all time is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Review Aloo - Hand Shakers

I just finished another recent anime, so have another review. Hand Shakers is an action series that sees pairs of people compelled to fight each other using strange weapons by the voice of God. The catch here, Hand Shaker pairs are heavily reliant on each other in combat to the point that they have to charge their power by holding hands.

I was instantly intrigued by the quirky premise behind Hand Shakers

Review Aloo - Seiren

I wanted to do a review of one of the most recent season's anime, which basically left me two choices since I've only seen two so far. I have decided to go with Seiren because I don't have much to critique about Kuzu no Honkai and it's boring if I only ever do positive reviews.

Seiren is a romance and comedy series with an unusual format. Rather than dedicate it's full twelve episodes to following one story, it instead rests at the end of each arc

Top Thirty Anime Series

Alright, this is the final entry for this mini-series. So far I've shared with you not only just how big a weeb I've become but also twenty of my thirty favourite anime series. Below is the final ten series that are, in my opinion, the best of the best.

Number Ten - Orange

Orange is an anime that is weirdly similar to Erased even though this is a drama/romance series not a mystery/thriller. The premise

Top Thirty Anime Series

Continuing on with my list of anime series I have really enjoyed, a list that I'm sure you're all extremely thrilled I'm putting the effort into writing, below are entries twenty through to eleven.

Number Twenty - Akame ga Kill

Akame ga Kill is sort of like the GoT of anime. It takes you into a large and corrupt kingdom, introduces you to a group of characters with questionable morals, makes you love
