Well, Kangaskhan got a huge boost with her Mega Evolution. Its new ability kills most teams easily. I've had the misfortune of falling victim to one hiding in the back of a person's party a couple times. If it gets sent out first, I generally KO it with High Jump Kick since the Mega Evolution phase forces the Pokémon to go second, even with a first strike move. It's very easy to exploit that opening at the beginning of the battle. If it happens later in the match, it messes up a lot of stuff.

I generally just try and adjust my team as I feel I have to. I've gone from reconstructing my fallback team that I used in Black/White to creating a modified version of it using different Pokémon of the same species and now mixing in new ones I've grown fond of. I've found myself surviving a lot longer now that I'm actually using a mixed strategy that doesn't involve outright attacking, but still utilizes the old "bait-and-switch" tactics I used in Gen V.

Probably not. I don't think anyone would like having their Pokémon KO'd twice with the same OHKO move. I only used it because I was up against two walls I didn't want to deal with, but I had Pokémon in reserve that would've probably beat him anyways. The only thing I found odd was that he used the same Pokémon against me that he KO'd me with the last time (Porygon2 in particular, which he had given Choice Specs before).

No, I found it odd myself. It is random, but what are the odds we got on at the same time twice.

I feek guilty because I happened to fight him twice before by happenchance. He was a Japanese player with the name Noah, same team too. It was weird because he beat me before.

That's the difference between battle sims and the games. The games allow OHKOs, but they restrict what Pokemon can be used, even more so in Battle Spot rating battles. That makes it VERY hard to compete and it's why I keep Sheer Cold. One time I thought I was outmatched and it hit twice in a row. I was expecting my opponent to KO Lapras and then get him with Delphox. I won with just Lapras.

Lapras is mostly endurance, but you can also use it as a special sweeper. I generally EV mine for Health and partial Def/Sp. Def. Water Absorb is the preferred ability because you can stop other Water types with it. I usually use Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Sheer Cold as staple moves. The first three are self explanatory, while the last one is generally a last-resort filler. Sheer Cold doesn't always work, but it can be great for eliminating a wall or Pokémon you weren't to ready to fight.

Semi-stall sums it up. I was running a high-offense/partial-defense team with Zoroark, Delphox, Mienshao, Lapras, Dragonite, and Cobalion. I changed out my old Mienshao for a faster one, my Dragonite for Noivern (which I was using before), and then Cobalion for Aegislash (another that I was using before, but got tired of and switched to Cobalion). I've also spent time changing my EV spread for Lapras and Aegislash to be more Defense/Sp. Defense strong.

I guess I have a bad tendency to try and make sure I'm doing things right, even when I'm just messing around. :P

Well, I understand the categories, but I just don't care about them since they aren't what I consider right all the time. I actually would consider Breloom UU now because it's got some much stuff working against it to make it the juggernaut it used to be. In the save wavelength, I'd have put Talonflame on UU instead of OU because Gale Wings doesn't always save it. But then, I don't have the misfortune of running into them on Battle Spot much (I know Showdown and PO have different setups, which are acceptable for them, but when you're up against a person completely at random, "luck of the draw" plays a huge role in everything). I have tons of counter strategies for almost every Pokémon in some way shape or form. Pulling them off can be tough, so I've recently resorted to more tactical battling instead of outright trying to KO everything right away. I don't even send out my powerhouses anymore, instead I use Pokémon that I can use stall tactics with until I get what my opponent's trying to do.

Now that I'm officially in my post-good movie high, let's get started.

In case you don't know what Zootopia is about, and you can't watch the trailer, let me give a brief preview. All of the characters in this movie are anthropomorphic animals, meaning they can walk, talk, and do everything a human can do. So yeah, basically every disney movie, but that's besides the point. Zootopia is this big city where all of the animals...

Man, it's been a while since I've done a movie review, far too long. So, when my roommates invited me to go see The Boy with them, of course I tagged along.

The Boy is directed by William Brent Bell and stars Lauren Cohan in the main role. In case you haven't seen the trailer, a nanny, Greta, is called to this old english house so that she can watch over the old couple's son while they take a vacation. The main plot conflict...

M. Night Shyamalan brings us yet another horror flick, but this one is a little different.

I must admit, when I saw the trailer for this film I wasn't expecting much. Here comes yet another found footage horror film to throw into the pile, lost and forgotten with all of the other cheaply made films studios pump out for a quick buck. At least, that's what I thought until I did some more digging. M. Night Shyamalan actually...

This movie is gory, doesn't make sense, over the top, and mindless action. So why did I enjoy it?

I must say, I was really surprised by American Ultra. I went in expecting mindless action with really cheap comedy, and that's actually exactly what I got. But don't worry, there's a lot more to it. The very things I went in to see took a backseat to a story with a surprising amount of heart and characters that weren't drones...

If you thought the first Sinister was messed up, hold on to your sanity, because you haven't seen anything yet.

WARNING: GRAPHIC SCENES AND VIOLENCE:

For the record, I thought the first movie was decent. It at least tried to break from the traditional hollywood jumpscare routine by giving us interesting-ish characters and a plot that wasn't bad. This movie is pretty much the same, only it cranks up the demonic...
