As of recently I am hacking Ruby again, yes- but in a different way than you'd expect. I'll explain in a PM sometime soon :) I assume, taking those threads into account, you're focusing more on Ruby than Emerald now?
Hey! Sorry about that, both colcolstyles and I are very busy recently so there's been a bit of a lag on the thread approval side. Both have been approved now. :)
Well I was going to offer help on your 493/649/idek project but that was until I saw you blatantly insult the mods of this site, who haven't really done anything wrong to you that I've seen.
Hey man, sorry I haven't answered you. Been busy with University and trying to get this patch finished. Getting very close now. Sadly, I can't sprite for s**t (hence why I was more than happy to accept any help in that department I could get).
Unfortunately, I really don't know any decent spriters, just a handful of decent ASM hackers lol.
Okay, then- but are you sure you should use BW backsprites? In Light Platinum, for example, Wesley used BW backsprites, but in battle they look a little mis-proportioned. An idea I had a while back was to double the sie of the backsprite before editing it- leaving it with the pixelated-look that backsprites had in RBY. Maybe you would consider doing that? I dunno. Justa suggesting :)
Damn, I thought I replied to your PM...
I hit a bit of a snag (which sounds hilarious given that Ditto is merely a pink blob- but it's more about spriting in general). I'll PM you though.
Perfectly safe. I've not had any issues with it since I made it. I doubt anyone else will, as long as they understand where the limiter is, and where the "auto choice" is. (That is, the slot of music the game chooses if the trainer has a music byte outside the length of the table)
EG, your music table has 44 entries, and your trainer has music ID 90, the game will load music slot 3 as standard, a failsafe to prevent crashes.
Hehe, that routine is so outdated, I can't be bothered to explain how it works. Instead, I'll post the new one, with a proper explanation at some stage tonight.
