Well, it stands upright and has no wool, so it clearly isn't 100% sheep. Also, its body shape has always reminded me a little of Dragonite's, but with the wings lopped off.

Besides, it's not like there isn't any (non-Legendary) Electric/Dragon types, anyways. In fact, if you take out the Legendaries and Megas, there are exactly FOUR fully-evolved Dragons with unique typings--Kingdra, Hydreigon, Dragalge, and Tyrantrum (who's only part-Rock because its a fossil). That's just awful! Why are Pokémon dragons so boring?
Well, Flygon and Garchomp play much different. Same with Dragonite and Salamence. Now Altaria has a Dragon/Fairy Mega, so it became unique.

Says the guy who thinks that Gen 1 has an amazing Pokédex and that Lance and Agatha have the best, most exciting E4 teams ever. :rolleyes2:
C'mon, I never said that. I just said it wasn't such a big problem as you think.

The first part, however, has some truth in it. But that's because I'm the kind of person who thinks that, if your only choice is a great one, and let's face it, Gengar and Dragonite are amazing Pokémon, there isn't much problem.

Speaking of diversity, I feel like the Kalos games are a pizza restaurant with too many menu choices. :P

C'mon, the only reason Mega Ampharos is Electric/Dragon is fanservice! It evolves from a psyducking sheep, how could it be a dragon? It's named like that in Japanese, but that's only really his name. Prior to 6th gen Ampharos learned no Dragon moves that I know of.

The diversity is an issue nearly every regional dex except for the latest Unova and Kalos' dex. They didn't really take too much effort to fix the issue on the remakes, they might not wanna mess up too much the original flavor... :(

I gotta note that those who received AG and DP well are new fans, the older ones are into something else now.~ While BW is fairly moderate not nothing good or bad in particular, The Pokémon Company's really trying to put their effort in the XY anime as well as the games, like distributing Charizard Mega Stones to those with local 3DS version. [i]While I'm using a US console so I can't receive any, gdi.[i]

My theory is similar, on the games department GS was well received as we know. The anime, however, dragged the whole franchise down globally, I believe only Japan is unaffected (it's almost cultural to stick with their favorites series since they were young; it's not strange to see a middle age woman with Hello Kitty stuff over there). The anime and games are closely connected, if the anime, "the Pokémon series' Ambassador", screws up, a snowball effect is bound to happen. And that snowball effect created by the Johto saga from anime resulted in a colder response to Crystal, trading cards and the anime itself.

As a result they wanted to completely ditch the older fans and start anew, while those who stayed are rewarded numerous stuff, for example the remakes FRLG and HGSS, DPt's giving Gen I/II Pokémon evolutionary families, BW mimicking RG/RB in a way, finally XY's numerous shout-out to Gen I games.

I don't think Ampharos fits him. There's nothing draconic nor mystic about Ampharos. Yeah, it has a Dragon-type Mega, but Lance wouldn't be using a Mega Ampharos anyway.

Dragons tend to follow the hardhitter template way too often.

Later games as in initial rematch in FrLg and HgSs?

The anime series here ended roughly at The Purr-fect Hero, which was around year 1998 and then aired for a bit until year 2001. Note that I'm talking about the Japanese-Cantonese dubbed version here. Then the Original series returned in year 2006 here (you aren't reading it wrong, buddy. Original saga in year 2006. You know which generation belongs to year 2006.)The delay itself caused the decline here rather than the infamous Johto's obnoxious amount of filler episodes.

On the gaming department, GSC was the peak here. Unfortunately the gaming declined after Crystal version because of the Pokémon anime. Pokémon Movies were a huge thing here as well. The last movie on screen was either Pokémon 3: Spell of the Unown or Celebi - Voice of the Forest, I forgot which. The movies had to stop because of the decline, secondly it's obviously inconsistency as Ash was still using his Kanto team in the TV series while the movies has his updated Johto team.

The grow up to mature thing here occur in year 2004, pronouncing your love to the Pokémon series was no different than asking to be a laughing stock.

The Hoenn saga started airing here in year 2007 which concluded in 2009. The remaining original fans here were actually very surprised with the Hoenn saga airing, that moment felt like... Needless to say it was a welcomed decision, nevertheless it was too late already.

The AG and DP anime series saved the whole Pokémon's butt, it was so well received that the first DP movie got into screen again... :') Just for a day though and they were just testing the waters. :P There were rumors that the local TV Station was reprimanded by Pokémon International for the delay, while no one can verify the authenticity of that rumor. Undeniably my region had the most delay globally. :P DP made its debut on the cold Sunday time slot. Six months after DP's premiere, DP received an additional time slot, Saturday. But the delay was too much, as BW has been airing in Japan so a mid-series cancellation was actually considered. In order to finish the DP series, it was finally moved to the popular time slot -- Monday to Friday.~ While Pokémon still couldn't restore to its former glory, but it's definitely better when Pokémon was out cold. Nowadays we have XY here. ^^

'The few remaining original fans were turned off by Gen 3's hard reboot (no backwards compatibility, all new region and Pokémon) and obvious pandering to new, younger fans over older ones, and many of them just dropped Pokémon and never looked back.' That reminds me, the reboot might be intended. But I'll further elaborate my theory on the next reply, as my reply this time was too long. xD

I think I'd give Lance Kingdra and maybe Lapras or something like that instead of the two Dragonites. Lapras learns quite a few Dragon-type moves, actually. I don't like that he uses Salamence because it makes his team too overpowered and bland.

A personal favorite that he uses in Stadium is Arcanine. ^^ Arcanine learned Dragon Rage in RBY and currently it learns Outrage and Dragon Pulse. Ampharos would give him some variety, but Ampharos is slow and easy to take out unfortunately...

There's nothing much we can do about it, as Lance (unfortunately?) made his debut on a generation where Dragon-types were scarce?

Well Salamence is the signature Pokémon of Drake the rapper, while Garchomp is Cynthia's. So he shouldn't be associated with those Pokémon.~

What backlash? The Porygon incident? The Jynx controversy?

It's a bit saddening for me when time flies so fast. :(

As a Lance fan, do you really think it's an insult to him that he's being making fun as a Flying-type expert? Come on, Flying-types aren't that bad! :P

I don't understand why no Salamence or Garchomp, is it because they are overrated? Because there's no desert in Kanto for the Trapinch family. :P

I don't mind if they are holding for either way, they just need to make Mega Dragonite look great!

I live in somewhere far away.

I played a few Atari games, I don't recall much about the titles though. As I was too young that time. Lol But yeah, when you these images together it feels like woah , it really is that far already.

I think Lance's team in GSC is rather boring by current standards, though. And none of his updated teams do him justice. Lance without Gyarados isn't Lance. :(

There's also the thought that with the newer 3DS, that you won't be able to play current 3DS games on it.

You are right. But with this huge mess, is it still possible to fix it? Unless they are going to blame Dialga and Palkia for messing up the time and space. Lmao

If Lance gets a catsuit again, I'm sure there will be Sky Trainer memes about him. :( I know you dislike it when he gets teased as a Flying-type master.

I wonder if Dragonite receiving a Mega's going to affect Lance or not. Since you are a fan of Lance, does that mean Dragonite's favorite Pokémon?

Living here in Asia has easy access to Japanese game paks/game cards.

But wow, we're already 20 something, and we were like less than 10 when we started playing Pokémon. When I think about that, it sounds crazy.

Yes, I started with Red, Blue, Yellow & Green. But, no way to play them anymore. SS is a DS game which I play on 3DS
