There is a considible size of the fan base that would like an mmo style or at least an open world game. Hopefully they will be more vocal in the years to come.

    I see...

Tbh I actually do get the feeling that Clair had an innocent crush on Lance when they were younger.

Also that Steven x Lance ship name is kind of misleading it sounds like it's a ship about replacement champions it'll match crack ships of Lance x Iris or Wallace (or Wallace x Iris).

I hope that next Gen GF makes the Zelda U of the Pokemon world (Zelda games in recent years have been called out for being more and more linear compared to the originals so when Zelda U was a announced as an 'open' world it received much praise...plus it's beautiful).

They gave him a boy voice! And a bad one, too. Actually, the Pokémon G-Man thing could've been done without. They've never mentioned it beyond those episodes. It was something they created on the fly, to justify him not being the Champion, and it didn't make any sense.

I haven't heard of anyone shipping Lance with either one of those two so their fine. Now Steven and Cynthia do have some fan art out there due to their similar interests and personalities.

Lance yaoi? With who? Unlike Steven x Wallace or the yuri ships Dawn x Cynthia and Cynthia x Caitlin there is no same sex ship with him that I'm aware of. Likewise for Lorelei in the yuri aisle.

Yeah, Kanto is quite outdated. Sadly Gen I Kanto's remake is bound to have Kanto become as linear as Hoenn's was in it's remakes.

I would say that Gen V fans do tend to be nicer to Gen VI. There are probably more Gen III-IV fans of Gen V though than Gen I-II fans of III.

Btw the DS games have become obsolete in several ways since the start of Gen VI, seeing how the wi-fi network no longer works for those games (there is a way to bypass it though but it's complicated). A key feature of Gen V was DW and that now no longer works. For those reasons I think Gen IV and V may see a remake sooner than most of us expect.

I think so, seeing how Johto is more rural as is Sinnoh compared to Kanto and Unova. One good thing Kanto has over Unova is that it's not linear for the most part.

Well there's the player characters of Gen III and IV (BxM, DxL). I also secretly ship Cynthia and Steven...yes the Mary Sue couple that will be xD.

That was surprising because they had a route in the middle of a psyducking blizzard, and also Mt. Coronet's peak.

I wouldn't say just the Dex. The only Fire-types among the new Sinnoh Pokémon were Infernape (a starter), Magmortar (an evolution of a known Pokémon), and Heatran (a legendary, though I dispute this status). That was worse than psyducking Hoenn.

I remember being so disappointed when I heard Lance's dub voice. They chose a really poor voice for him here.

A lot of your Kanto/Johto theories and ideas make me wretch (Not all of them, though!), to be honest, and I really don't like being told how to interpret certain characters that I probably know and understand better than you.
Like which ones? The only ones I've mentioned have been Blue and Silver and that was based on alternate interpretations other Gen I-II fans have had. Well I guess there was Lance's name...but the guy is still a hero regardless plus all his names are either weapons, or things like being brave and magnificent.

But, don't worry, because I'm pretty much the same in regards to Hoenn and Sinnoh, and that's okay. (As much as I gripe about Cynthia's popularity, which must annoy you, LOL.) When I talk about Hoenn and Sinnoh, I try to think about what fans of those regions would want rather than what I would want, but in the end, I'm not a fan of them, so my opinions and ideas don't count as much. It's amazing how divided this fandom can be sometimes...
It's getting worse as time goes on is all I'll say. I find it interesting how those I've talked to who don't like all the Gens tend to like their own and the one after it,but hate the one two Gen's after the starting Gen (Ex: You love Gen I and II (and hate III), I love Gen III and IV (and hate V), and my younger sister loves Gen IV and V (and she hates VI))

I actually love Johto as much as Sinnoh...Now Kanto is tied with Unova in my book while I like Kalos as a region slightly better than K.U.
Btw the wacky Lorelei=Malva is not an actual theory of mine, I doubt it as much as you. I just wanted to get it out of the way early before someone later on brings it up.

GF tried the 150 dex (actually the Kanto's remakes' dex still being 151 may be due to GF's love for 150 something dexes...) thing again with BW...sadly it resulted in a lot of duplicates like Elesa's team. Sad thing is that they could've given her Joltik...

At least they fixed it in Pt xD. I feel that GF still was going with the flow with DP like they did with Gen III...
You know Lance and Bruno also have that issue funny enough in the rematches in HGSS... (Lance's at least are draconoid mons, and Aaron's Drapion evolves from a bug type). Bruno's team may arguably be worse than the Sinnoh ones considering that the Sinnoh gym leader's mons at least have moves of their type of specialty (Flint may be an exception). Actually some found Pt to be easier than D,P, seeing how Pt turned the gym leaders back to ' Poor predictable Rock' teams.
They certainly due become less predictable after Byron...actually that's what made them difficult according to DP players, as the game fooled them with the first six...

Viewing you discussion with Cerberus on Sinnoh I must say that GF didn't learn their mistake from Gen III (Hoenn lacks good ice types while Sinnoh lacked good Fire types up until Pt). I do hope that DP remakes use the Pt dex...I don't want them to stay that close to DP...beside Pt is the one I love (much like Emerald...sadly ORAS didn't use Emerald's more difficult teams).

Did you know that Giovanni is the only Gym leader to never be rematched (discounting the lack of proper rematches in Gen V and VI) at all? Koga is rematched eventually as a E4 in HGSS but Giovanni only get's one battle in HGSS. The Kanto gym leaders are likewise fought. Though if one only counts Gen I's story than Kanto's gym leader's lack rematches... (it's sad...maybe even more so that ORAS didn't just copy and paste Emerald's rematch teams for rematches in ORAS).

I liked the Platinum Sinnoh because it's a winter-themed region.

I was thinking that their decision to go with 150 Pokémon in DP wasn't the best, because while IMO you can have decent type distribution with only 150, in DP you had two more types than in RBY. In DP there were way too many Water-types, for example (again), and that was in a region with few water routes. There's no need for Goldeen/Seaking when you have Finneon/Lumineon in the Dex, and definitely no need for Barboach/Whiscash and Wooper/Quagsire when you have Shellos/Gastrodon. You could cut these and replace them with Fire-types, for example, which were severely lacking (although it's understandable since Sinnoh is a cold region).

I like the 4th gen the best, but even it has its shortcomings... It's very slow paced, for example, because the DS is weak and they put it all in the graphics while forgetting performance. You can see hiccups in some of the games.

Gameplay-wise, 5th gen wins for me. It's very fast and has Audinos. :P

    I agree, Misty shouldn't change.

If that's the case perhaps they should give Blue a slight tan too so that the top of the Indigo league don't look like they've lacked sun most of their lives...though given their position...
Giovanni could also get a slight tan.

Now that you mention Lorelei as an ice queen I thinks her redesign should include some more blue.

Have you ever found it odd that GF named the league of Kanto (which later became was revealed to be Johto's too) the Indigo league? Think about the name of the Japanese pair and the one member of the trio that was originally left out...thus choosing Indigo makes sense as back then a third version was likely not planned. Actually according to TV tropes Nintendo had low expectations of Pokemon (especially since it was being made on a dying console)...basically it was the Lion King of Nintendo.
Edit: Oh wait in the Japanese games it's called the Quartz Plateau...which interestingly fits in nicely with the third version of the Johto games...

I'm glad you said that, as my own character are 14 and here I was thinking will twenty somethings even read this? 14-16 protag. centered stories tend to attract both tweens and twenty somethings is what I've theorized.
In that case I think 13 will be a good age for them.

Btw which Kanto characters do you expect to get a tan (or bleached?) in a Kanto centrist (I) re-remake? The top candidates are Bruno, Lt. Surge, Brock, and Misty for tans. Erika might get paler as she's sort of a http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YamatoNadeshiko.
