Indeed, the omni-stat boosts of Ominous Wind, Ancientpower and Silver Wind do come into play quite often. Technician Scyther is also notorious for it's boosted Wing Attack, which it gets STAB on, so that's always a good choice for it's moveset. Togekiss is a very fun Pokemon to use, with attacks like Aura Sphere and Air Slash, I reccomend you find a Shiny Stone and evolve your Togetic :D. The ability Serene Grace is extremely underrated until you actually experience it, on both ends of the spectrum, that is. Iron Head using Jirachi and Air Slash using Togekiss and Shaymin-S have the ability to abuse Serene Grace to the point where your Pokemon can't get an attack in.

Speaking of Technician, Scizor is probably the best technician user there is. Bullet Punch and Bug Bite become quite powerful with that ability. I'm not too fond of Bug Types, but I'd
have to say that Scizor and Leavanny are my two favorites out of them.

You're quite the artist then, because it looks great. Starmie is a pretty powerful Pokemon, so I'm sure it will do great. I've never actually gotten around to using a Starmie, but from my battles with them, I know that they have potential for reaking major havoc.

Trust me, it's quite the fun and interesting experience using a different 'style' of Pokemon. If you ever want to start a new file on one of your games, I recommended trying an overly offensive/defensive Pokemon, even if they're unbalanced, they still have the ability to be an asset to your team. Also, if you don't mind me asking, who is the man in your avatar?

Heh, that's the first time I've seen a dragon been called "common". Most of them hide in caves with a small encounter rate to boot, such as Gible and Bagon. I do get what you mean, though, it seems like all legendary Pokemon are automatically obligated to be Dragon types, and I'm against this as well. I never liked frail attackers as well, until I used Porygon-Z and Infernape. They were both just so amazingly capable of tearing apart the enemy with a mix of various attacks and high speed, sharing those experiences with them really increased my appreciation for "Glass Cannons".

Yeeees, let it stay a Munchlax! Having HG/SS as your first exposure to the Pokemon games is pretty great, I mean, those were probably the best Pokemon games that Game Freak has produced. I remember the Winner's Path, it's a shame I could never get it, because I lack Wi-Fi and my Pokewalker is pretty much null since it never deleted my old save data (I guess that's what all the shaking does to it, huh?). I like Kingdra as well, I'd always wanted to use one, and I got the chance to use one in my nuzlocke run of HeartGold, albeit I cheated to get it, thus stripping it of it's status as a true "Nuzlocke run". Kingdra is a great Pokemon, nonetheless, I love it's typing and design, I wish more Pokemon could evolve into Dragon Types. I still think the tremendous amount of steps needed to obtain Munchlax is worth it, I mean, it knows Explosion lol.

Ah, Munchlax. He and I have quite the interesting relationship. It started in a playthrough of diamond in which I was hoping to find new
Pokemon to spice up my adventure, as it was my 5th (or so) time playing through the game. Eventually, I decided to go after Munchlax. Combining my undesirable luck with an unreal encounter rate, (a 1% chance of encounter and exclusivity to only 4 trees in the entire region) I searched through honey tree after honey tree, finding even the elusive Heracross and Female Combee, but I never did find the chap. I usually just breed for it in HG/SS after I catch the Snorlax in Kanto and walk around with it to remind me of how much I used to desire it.

Indeed. I'm not one to use legendaries and look down on them, albeit it may because of an experience I had during a Nuzlocke run.
I do think that Pokemon like Lugia, Zekrom, and Cobalon's designs far outclass the designs of ordinary Pokemon, although legends never seem to find their way into my
list of favorites. The main reason I don't really use legends is because I never get the satisfaction of seeing them evolve into something stronger.

Oh, nice. I myself, got HeartGold and I enjoyed it a lot. I like Lugia's design, however the only time I've used it was on
Pokemon Online, and I must say, it's a great defender.

About Me

  • About Ibis
I'm an older Pokemon fan who's new to the games (HGSS was my first real exposure as I had never owned a handheld before my adulthood and the closest to gaming I came was owning the Pocket Pikachu) and a veteran to the general franchise.

I love Pokemon because of the world of possibilities it can open up in the imagination and I will never forget how the first Pokemon movie made me feel.

I guess maybe it's that little bit of 'magic' that I had experienced that kept me interested on a subconscious level when my interest in Pokemon had all but otherwise faded and when the HeartGold and SoulSilver games were announced along with the added feature of the Pokewalker, I decided to give the game a chance. I got the game and... well... 540+ hours later, I guess you could say I'm hooked - as hooked as a Magikarp would be on a Super Rod.
Gamer DNA tagged me as an 'Explorer' and I have to admit that that description rather suits me. Just like I tend to spend my spare time exploring things in games, I do a lot of exploring in general in real life - books, internet, hiking trails, places to shop, places to eat, and places in general.

Related to that, I'm a collector of various collectibles and thus like to bargain shop for things to add to my collection and I have to admit that I'm pretty good at bargain treasure hunting. Currently, the 'treasure' that I am hunting for is the DX sized Mewtwo UFO Catcher plush from 2005.

In case it isn't obvious, I'm also a fan of words and language and other modes of expression and communication and so I also enjoy doing what I call 'creative communication' which includes things like front end web development, graphic design, creative writing, and illustration.

In relation to communication... I'm also a fan of... questions. I like to think and therefore I like to question things if only to ensure that I am truly understanding something and not just taking it for granted.
