Welcome to Jubilee!
Cornered On The Market!
IC | OOC

The Boulevard
5:00 AM | Center of the street

There was a sliver of burning gold on the horizon, the sun not yet peaking to overtake the deep indigo that was still most of the sky. It was cool out, but only as cool as a summer night. On either side of the boulevard were businesses of many kinds, each with their own degrees of decoration. It was the dawn of the Summer Festival here in the Pokemon town of Jubilee, a time for celebration and commercialism. And so, while lamp posts and sidewalk trees were decorated with balloons and streamers by the volunteer public works committee, most owners in town had done their part in dressing up their shop in the spirit of things the night before. Colorful, unlit paper lanterns and wind chimes dangled from rigging under canopies. Windows were decorated with bright flyers that advertised deals and wished a happy festival. In some cases, even doormats were replaced for ones that looked newer and more inviting. Every store on the boulevard had prepped their appearances, except for two.

At the very beginning of the street, directly across from each other, sat two small corner stores, both lacking any decoration apart from their usual set up. To the west was Spirited Away, a shop with purportedly mysterious and mystical wares. To the east was Forget-Me-Not, a shop with a florist's touch. They largely are not unlike the other in their inventory, but their specialties are what set them apart. The only two businesses up at this hour, stashed away in their respective stores, the two owners plot the day with their crew of employees.

5:00 AM | Supply Room

EtbhL2l.png

Metal racks reached as high as the ceiling and leaned against the brick walls, straining under the weight of its overstocked shelves, stacks of stray goods and open parcels from suppliers all atop one another in an effort to save space. The windowless Supply Room managed to accommodate for the Pokemon who were now packed inside, all huddled around the emergency hatch in the concrete floor--the only entrance into the Supply Room from the outside. It was dark. On the ceiling were two panels of fluorescent lights, currently not in use, and so the only light by which to see glowed from large green candles, placed around the hatch in a semi-circular ring. The scent of peppermint was strong.

Levitating just within the candlelight was a peculiar Mismagius who donned a pink cloak, its collar so tall that it covered his mouth like a sleeve. He had a gaze that seemed to be perpetually solemn. As he accounted for those present to the meeting, he glanced over at a little novelty snowglobe clock hybrid that had been tossed onto some high shelf, checking the time.

"Okay, well," Castiel began, his speech smooth and cool. Despite his cloak collar being in the way of his mouth, his words sounded unnaturally clear. "Everyone who's worth anything is here on time, so thank you all for being punctual--it is expected of you. Now, before we begin, you might be thinking to yourself Oooh, is this a seance? Firstly, no, of course not; that's insulting to Ghosts. And secondly," he made a demonstrative gesture with his ghostly appendage, "These are all peppermint candles. Peppermint is supposed to invigorate you and get you focused, and lucky me, I had an entire two extra boxes lying around back here that I have had since last winter, thinking these would be a hot, trendy, holiday sell, but I guess not. I guess people can only handle so much peppermint. So here they are, I lit up like twelve of these. Enjoy."

He cleared his throat, moving on to business. "Now, you may be wondering why I had you all sneak in from the back alley hatch behind the store to meet up here in Supplies. Well, the answer is this:" He leaned forward, his stare becoming intense as the light lit him from under. "Today will be the biggest day of your working lives, and I'm not going to let that flippant, flagrant flounce of a Florges across the street have any way of getting the leg up on us!" With a great flourish of his cape, he turned around, back to them. He continued, sternly. "We can't leave anything up to chance here, which is why you all voluntarily got out of bed so early--to beat her to it." When he said the word voluntarily, he tossed a look back over what would have been his shoulder, as if to say If you wanted to keep your job, that is. He turned right back around with a leering look in his eye. "That little nymph would do and has done everything in her power to copy me and use our own plans against us, stealing our potential profits!" There was a mischievous glint in his stony eyes, now. "Well not today. She has her unfortunate little crew of workers huddled up in their own store across the street as we speak--I saw her. And since she is such a blatant poacher of everything I do, I'm going to give one of you a very important Mission."

He looked over his lot with a scrutinizing eye as he gave a second to let the word sink in. "Do I have any volunteers?"

5:00 AM | The Bean Bag Corner

L3aLOsZ.png

Amaryllis nudged back the blind that covered her window and peered out through the glass with narrowed eyes. There was no sign of stirring in the store on the other side of the street, their windows dark and vacant of Pokemon. Pulling what would be her nose from the pane, the Florges stretched her thin, delicate arms over her head, yawning loudly before wiping her eyes. She reached a hand into the voluminous coif of flowers on her head, and just as quickly from its depths she pulled out a sleeping mask. She slipped it on. The mask did well to cover her eyes, save for her unique pair of "eyelashes", but there was something else about it.

Her sleeping mask was extremely unnerving. It looked as if someone tried to sew eyes on it, in the gag that she would look like she was still awake. Except the eyes attempted to appear human but it was too angular, like the shape of a rhombus, and stick-like eyelashes were sewn around it, making it altogether look like a crudely-drawn horror forever staring back. Mask situated on her face, she turned right around on leafy bottoms and slowly glided to the counter--even more uncannily, it seemed she could sort of tell where she was going despite being blinded. Between a cash register manufactured to mimic a Victorian design and a bowl of loose ribbon and glass bead accessories, there sat on a little saucer a steaming mug, filled with tea that smelled strongly of peppermint. She picked up her drink with shaky accuracy, still wearing the mask for some reason, blew on the tea, and then sluggishly turned to face her employees. They all sat grouped in a carpeted corner on plush, colorful bean bags. As Amaryllis took a sip off the top, one could see there were words printed on the cup, which read "EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO MY OPINION".

"Well, it looks like my... my..." She yawned, covering her mouth with her dainty little hands as her sewn eyes stared unblinkingly at everyone. "Oof! So sorry, I'm just so, so, so sleepy." She spoke with a matronly air to her voice. Amaryllis nudged herself over to the others, taking a seat in the largest bean bag reserved for her, sinking into it comfortably now as she faced her team. "Trust me, it wasn't my bright idea to get up at 5 in the morning," she grumbled with a shrug and a sip. Being the owner, it was undeniably all her idea. "I'm drinking this peppermint tea because I heard it wakes you up, but I don't know. Maybe I need to take bigger sips...?" She did just that, and found herself with a mouth full of whole peppermint leaves that she apparently just left in her drink. She ate them, thinking that was what one is supposed to do. Her mask stared on.

"Anyway, let's get down to business, team. So I just checked the shanty shack across from us, and so far I don't see any witchery afoot--yet. I saw that Hoopa-worshiping spook haunting the alley behind his shop earlier, so he is definitely plotting something. That Ghost is always up to no good, engaging in shady business practices that threaten the prosperity of our wholesome, family-oriented little shop. The town really does need to do something about him, but..." She yawned and sniffed. "But, he's good at putting on a frumpy front, so they let him continue to degrade our community." She drew in a long sip from her tea in pause. "But the worst thing about it is that he isn't even original. He copies everything we do, just everything. It's cutting into our profits!" She turned up her nose in indignation, her mask still managing to soullessly stare down at the employees. "Well, I'm not having it today. That's why I'm going to task one of you with a very important Mission."

She took another long sip as she let her offer linger in the air. "So, who should I choose?"

Gabriel
Eager to Please

The night streets had a nice breeze flowing through them as Gabriel walked along the empty streets. No one was awake at this hour, well, a few were, obviously. He was one of them. There had been times in the past when he had woken up at this hour, sometimes even earlier! It was a past that he left behind when he moved here, but those experience were definitely helping to keep him awake now. He knew that there were bound to be others up at this hour, but for more… ulterior motives than simply heading to work to help their boss out. Most were probably drug runners who would take advantage of the sleeping city to push forth their own agenda. Others were likely thieves who were eagerly slipping into sleeping mon's houses, or were simply those without a home who lived on the streets. He was more than thankful that he was making enough cash to have a small apartment.

Sure, it wasn't the best place in the world, what with the cramped quarters, but at least he had someplace to call his own. He made his way closer to the store that he worked at, but instead of taking the front entrance as was usual, he instead used his natural camouflage to blend into the night. He carried no lights on him as he used his arms to hoist himself over a wall and landed right behind the corner store. He was pretty sure that no one had caught sight of him, so he was quick to open up the hatch and slip inside. He closed it behind him and made his way under the store, soon popping up through the exit that led into the store room.

He had a few good ideas whey they were up so early. It was either related to some sort of new employee training that couldn't be fit in during the day, would be where the boss would go on and tell them about some new shipments that were coming in early today, or that they hadn't prepared the store yet for the Summer Festival. He had a very strong inkling this meeting had something to do with the last thing on that list. He waited patiently among the rest of the employees as and glanced at the candles that lit up the area. He could smell the peppermint quite clearly and had to wonder just how much peppermint was in here.

He hadn't expected his boss to straight up tell them the answer to his internal query. As the Mismagius continued his speech Gabriel made sure to listen hard. He had heard that the ghost was a bit hard to work for, but he still had managed to get a job with the guy. He couldn't afford to not listen and piss off the guy who would be giving him a paycheck for who knows how long! Judging by what Castiel said, it seemed as if the rivals across the street were having their own get together as well. The one thing that did intrigue Gabriel was the fact that no matter how much planning Castiel did, somehow, someway, the other store would be able to either copy their plans perfectly, or perform some close variation of them.

The last word of Castiel's speech snapped up Gabriel's attention. So far, his efforts to please Castiel hadn't been too successful, but he knew that he could use this opening of a mission to definitely get in the ghost's good graces. Without any hesitation the Weavile's hand shot up. "I volunteer, sir!" He said quickly. Okay, one little mission. Perhaps to do something to distract the competition, or ensure that they wouldn't be spying on them? Either way, Gabriel was yearning to see if he could please his boss. He had heard that good employees often got raises, but that was usually because they spent a lot of time in their workplace or proved themselves capable of any task. Well, he would do that today!

Varien the Kecleon

The young Kecleon strolled down the street, head turning left and right to each shop as he passed, even though it was still dark. He wasn't going to be able to remember all of their names, or even what they sold, but he continued nonetheless. As he made his way, he let his mind focus elsewhere. I've got the job. I can work my way up the chain, I just need a good first impression and something to make myself unique. I don't know what my work partners will be like, but if I can impress them too I'll be better off. I'll befriend them, then step over them.

Varien halted, looked at either side, spun, then walked back three shops. He had passed Forget-Me-Not, absorbed in his plan for the day. As he approached the side of the floral shop, he could have sworn he saw a shadow move on the other side of the street, to somewhere behind the opposing shop, Spirited Away.

He shook his head, concluding he must been imagining it. He did get the idea to camouflage, though, disappearing the ground and slipping towards his new workplace. Once at the entrance, Varien's unique alternate palette returned. He quietly got inside, the first to do so. Looking around, Varien saw a corner of the shop that had beanbags. Seeing as no one else was here, he decided to observe their comfort, never having had the pleasure before. It was only after he sat that he noticed the shop's owner, Amaryllis, standing at the window. Did she say something? What should I do?

Rina the Chimecho ~ Forget-Me-Not

chimecho.gif

✖ ➀
Location: Center street ↪ Forget-Me-Not
Mentions: Amaryllis
Held Item: Basket of accessories
Status: Anxious and excited ↪ Sheepish, slightly agitated
A silver-blue silhouette against the mainly-indigo sky, Rina floated down the one-way road of Jubilee. It was a beautiful summer morning to be out and about—it was not too dark as to shroud the street-lining scenery, nor too light as to hide the remainder of nighttime stars before they were to fade at the sight of the rising sun. The Chimecho hardly had the chance to bask in the tranquility of early morn. It was a glorious, rebellious feeling to be active so early, one her father worked to repress. But now that she had the excuse of additional responsibilities, Rina could do whatever she pleased, really! Ha! The remembrance of such authority figure's beaten, aghast expression as she had prepared her leave brought a triumphant grin to her freckled face.

A basket swung dangerously close to the cobbled earth, hoisted by Rina's tail as she sauntered onward. The basket's contents included a mélange of materials: yarn, sewing needles, bits of fabric, a glue stick or two, a few heart scales—she found them mesmerizing—, fancy stationery with a vivid rainbow pattern, paper clips, some spare hair ribbons and a pair of scissors; that was the majority of it. Simply a collection of any random, craft-related objects Rina could find lying around her father and her's little cabin. She did take a fancy in scrap-booking, after all, and her father had a habit of leaving things between pillow cushions and underneath the fridge. From Rina's first impressions of her boss, she seemed the decorative type, so surely the Fairy would be appreciative of a few, relatively-fashionable donations. Not to mention, as her first day appointed for any official sort of job, the Chimecho sought to make a suitable first impression as her father had reminded to do plenty of times. (He must have thought her dumb.)

But this was a day of many firsts for Rina—her first time taking on a real job, her first time being out before seven, her first time being out at all on the town, carrying out business she was willing to carry out, without a particular good-for-nothing breathing down her 'neck'... The excitement was making Rina giddy now so that she nearly dropped her basket, swaying back and forth on the path towards Forget-Me-Not at a rhythmic pace. The Chimecho hummed a melody to herself. She could catch an initial peak of the summer sun, right on the horizon. Its gold matched that of the twinkling wind chimes which Rina marveled, sparkling on the sidelines like stars under the vibrant festival ribbons. It was as she eyed the lampposts that Rina naturally came across the entrance to Amaryllis' shop and made the connection to why she was so cheery in the first place.

Through the front door she passed, a sharp dingle from above the door signalling her entrance. Amaryllis was in the middle of speaking, lounging on a plush chair as she did so, the Fairy's back turned towards Rina as she circled the wall. The Chimecho drifted in quietly, holding the basket higher now in an effort to prevent any further indication of her belated arrival.

Bad sign: you are late! Though not by much. Fortunately, Amaryllis had only begun her address and Rina could easily get up to speed with the rest of the group. (On a more unfortunate note, however, she appeared to have missed the majority of a longer-winded diatribe.)

"...he's good at putting on a frumpy front, so they let him continue to degrade our community," the boss was saying. And then Amaryllis took a sip of some strong-smelling brew before offering up a proposition. It was when she took to drinking the concoction, however, that Rina realized the abnormally-dead look on Amaryllis' face. The strange and staring eyes shocked the poor Chimecho for a moment as she realized they were sewn. She nearly dropped her entire basket in that time, nearly. Her tail was prehensile enough to snatch at the basket's handle before everything could come tumbling out, though a few contents did spill out onto the shag rug beneath the beanbag Rina had just settled in. Hastily, she went to gather them up with her appendages; that did not prove easy. She rose up with a mildly-apologetic look before a ball of yarn and thimble went tumbling from her stumpy makeshift 'arms'. Sheepishly, Rina went down to try and gather them up again.

"I am sorry, very sorry, Amaryllis!" called the Chimecho from her stooped yet levitating position. "I mean, it would be very nice to carry out a mission—it sounds of much fun—but—do you see?—I have brought a few items and I do not want to leave them or the store too soon…"

She'd managed to connect her blunder to the subject at hand, at least, though if any of what Rina had said was in any ways sensible was still to be determined. Meanwhile, the thimble proved evasive, slipping again from her ungainly grasp. The Chimecho wasn't very good at this "dexterity" idea; she took to sweeping up the damned object with her tail, muttering an unglamorous word in spirit-talk—just in case—under her breath.

Samuel the Bidoof

Samuel woke up on the day of the Summer Festival at 3 AM sharp. His father advised him to wake up 2 hours early to make himself presentable. His mother had gladly agreed to be his alarm. His morning routine consisted of his mother repeatedly using water sport on him while using some herbal soap followed by a humble breakfast of berries. After breakfast, Samuel's mother adjusted his crimson floral tie.

"You'll do great honey!" his parents said in unison. " Make sure to stay in late and help with the cleanup!" they continued unflinchingly. Samuel merely nodded, blinking tears out of his eyes as he left his home, alone.

As he walked through the boulevard he almost stopped a couple of times. He was uneasy for many reasons. He's never been alone this early(or late) and he missed the comforts of his own home. He was scared of his job, and the pressure of 'adult responsibilities'. It had been 10 minutes since he left home. He could still turn back. No. He pushed on. For all his shortcomings, Samuel wasn't a quitter. (Except for all the times he had been invited to go out with some people, but that was besides the point). He pushed on, admiring the beauty of all the stores that lined the sides of the street, each advertising it's own products. He felt the slight summer breeze against his chestnut fur, and shuddered. He was accustomed to the closed interiors of his small home. He finally reached the center of the street and took a moment to wonder if he was the right place or not. Both stores were dark, and not spiffed up at all, much unlike the other stores of the Boulevard.

Samuel arrived at 'Forget-me-not' at around 4.55 AM and was greeted with a strong scent of peppermint. He was so intimidated by the abundance of bean bags and the scent of peppermint that he was on the verge of tears. However, he held on and waited for his Boss's briefing. He concentrated on each and every word, attempting to mentally note it, and failing. At the end of it all, he was more confused than ever, but that didn't stop him.

"Yes ma'am, I volunteer!" he said out loud.

Jubilee- 4:30 am

Blair was especially pissed today. Not only did her job require her walk through a pretty shady part of town (not helped by her own abode being in said shady part of town), not only could she not sleep until 12 am, but they had the gall to call its employees at 5 in the fricken morning! Yay, Blair quipped in a deadpan tone to herself. Now I get to meet all my co-workers and boss at an hour that the dead wouldn't wanna be up for.

Blair let out a frustrated huff. She was gonna have a word with her soon-to-be boss, making her wake up at this ungodly hour just to what, stock some kitschy goods? Man the telephones for the customers lining up around the block? Greet some shady, junkie for a customer at 6 am, like one that steals your crap, betrays you and leaves little kids without hope brought by the power of magic?! Blair shuddered slightly as the unpleasant memory of Veizer entered her thoughts. Yup, not letting that one go anytime soon. I'm not in a forgiving mood, much less today. They can think whatever they like what when I get there, as long as they don't cross with me.

After walking past unimpressive scenery and feeling a bit better by smashing some bottles against a lamppost with a flick of her twig wand, she arrived at the shop, where it appeared that, from the front, no one was there. However, she had been instructed to go to the back, which seemed to be pretty shady in Blair's book at this hour. What was Blair willing to do about it? Not a damn thing, is she wants to get her show back on. So, she might as well suck it up and save her salty demeanor for somewhere else. At least, that's what she would say if she were any good at putting on a façade of politeness that wasn't laced with sarcasm and passive aggressiveness.

4:55 am-Spirited Away, Supply Room

Walking through the door of the shop, which boosted her spirits ever so slightly when she saw the name of the place and its little reference to a favorite movie of hers, she entered into a cramped supply room with a Mismagius, the boss that she had heard a few things about here or there by nature of their interest in magic, which should hopefully score over some bonus points with him.

Ok, so blah blah blah, something about séances insulting the dead, punctuality, peppermint candles, and then on to the reason why they're here at 5 in the morning. Seems to have something with this Florges woman, Blair thought to herself. But really, who cares? Blair let out a obnoxiously loud, frustrated sigh, feeling quite miffed that her being here boiled down to "he said, she said" rivalry and competition that couldn't be dealt with at normal business hours, which, if she were to have deduced correctly, not 5 am.

"Well not today. She has her unfortunate little crew of workers huddled up in their own store across the street as we speak--I saw her. And since she is such a blatant poacher of everything I do, I'm going to give one of you a very important Mission."

Well, that piqued Blair's attention, dropping her arms from their crossed position, as she suddenly seemed much more interested in the direction this conversation was going. Be it far from Blair to pass up a good opportunity pitted against her bad luck, the Mismagius added, "Do I have any volunteers?" She raised her hand, and said in her abrasive, husky voice, "Yeah, ya got a volunteer. Anything to liven things up around here, y'know? Not like I get out of bed at 4 am every day or somethin' just to blow it on not making myself useful 'round here."

Varien the Kecleon
Forget-Me-Not

Varien watched as the other Pokemon entered the store. Second after him was a Chimecho, who didn't even glance at him. She'll be someone I need on my side. Next was a Bidoof. This Amaryllis really had the bar set low... The Bidoof also didn't acknowledge him, but probably because he didn't know other Pokemon were here.

Once they had all seated, Amaryllis gave a speech, which was mostly complaining about the other store. Varien tried to remember the name to no success. It didn't matter anyway, all he had to do was nod and smirk when she said something negative about it, and eventually pay it out himself. It was going to be easy to rise above this establishment; he only had to hold out for a day or two for the money.

As the end, Amaryllis asked for a volunteer. The Bidoof was over excited, as expected. Varien kept his cool, smiling, then met Amaryllis' eyes. There was no need to raise a hand when there were only three of them here.

Kazè the Lucario

Kaze woke up in the dank hotel room he'd called home for the past week. He looked around the room briefly before sighing and climbing out of the bed. It was still 4:30 in the morning, and he wouldn't normally be up this early if he didn't need this new job. Unfortunately, if he wanted to keep from living in the streets he did, and he'd do whatever it takes to keep it.

Kaze walked over to the table he'd left his last remaining possession on, a red shemagh (or in essence a giant red fabric square.) He tied it around his neck in the fashion of a bandana and headed out the door into the cool morning streets.

As Kaze walked out into the street, he felt a sleepy sense that still hung over the town. The windows were still dark, the streets barren. The buildings themselves were all decorated in accordance with the festival happening. The still cool night air fluttered through the streamers and ribbons crossing the roads. It was all very much to take in. Kaze wasn't used to the feel of being in a settlement of this size still. It had been a lot to take in ever since he arrived.

At the end of the street Kaze could see Spirited Away, which was good as it was fast approaching 5. Though there were no lights on, which was strange as he'd have thought someone would have been there before him, the owner at least. He walked up to the front window and tried to peer into the darkness. He didn't see any movement.

Then it clicked in his head. He walked around the back of the building and climbed through the emergency hatch and into the supply room where the rest of the employees were waiting. He joined the huddle facing his employer as the choking smell of peppermint reached his nose.

After Castiel's speech, two other employees volunteered for the mission before he had a chance. Oh well… "I guess I'll be more than happy to hold down the homestead then!" He spoke calmly, if not a little unhappy he had been beaten to getting his name up there

Please feel free to judge my writing via VM/PM as I'm not going to get up to snuff otherwise!

The Mismagius leered over at the Braixen in his midst when she had the gall to nearly interrupt his speech with some kind of wail like gargling gravel in her gullet. A poor impression to be made, and so blatantly. It did have him make it a point to remember her name: Blair, as in, 'I honk like a blaring mess.' When he asked for volunteers, the Weavile punched the air first with a commendable eagerness. He met the stare of Gabriel, exchanging with him a solid look of acceptance before the Braixen piped up again, acting so nonchalant in her own initiative. A Lucario with a red squared scarf around his neck knew he had missed his chance and voiced his content in staying behind, doing the job he was hired to do, anyway.

He addressed the volunteered position. "Well, at least I have some willing employees--for the most part," he chimed. "Gabriel here, wide awake and eager to work, and Blair, in need of a lozenge, what with her groaning from earlier." He glanced off to the side at that, his tone flat as he tried to hide a cheeky look in his eyes.

He straightened his posture and gave the two a firm look. "You two don't even know what it is I want you to do yet, so everyone, listen here. The Mission is a crucial one: Infiltrate Forget-Me-Not. Yes, spy on them and find out their big shtick for today. We have to be one step ahead of them, and that means getting as much intel as we can get before we open the store at 8 AM. To whom I send out, you will have three hours to get what we need for us to succeed. You all understand?"

He shut his eyes for a moment as he let a thought drift.

All this peppermint is giving me a headache...

"Gabriel," he said, peering back at the Weavile. "You will carry out the Mission by your one. You seem... capable." There was an odd glint in his eye at that. "As for everyone else, this is what we will be doing for today:"

Castiel had everyone huddle in as he told them the plan.

He backed off as he dismissed him, only to remember something. "Oh, and one last thing: keep the lights off in the store for now. One, we have to keep a low profile while that boutique banshee is openly scheming against us over there, but more importantly--these candles. No, seriously, please use them, I ordered too many." His tone perked up a bit. "Okay!" The orange gem on his chest began to glow a with a bright purple aura, and a candle in front of him began to be lined in much the same light before it lifted itself up off the ground and levitated before him. "We're all clear on everything? What's that? Yes? Good!" He turned toward the door with a big swish of his cape. "Now, get to work!"

You received the Mission:
Infiltrate the other store!

L3aLOsZ.png

The distinct voice of a Bidoof spoke up and Amaryllis' antennae twitched.

Is that the one with the tacky tie? Ugh, as if I'm running a consulting firm for upholstery salesmen. It's like his mother dressed him.

Rina started to talk about something but Amaryllis completely bulled over whatever the Chimecho was trying to say. Amaryllis could hardly hear the girl, in part because of the Florges' own tiredness.

"Yeaaah, okaaaay, that's nice and everything," she patronized the two. She yawned, stretching her arm out and spilling a little of her peppermint tea on the floor, something she couldn't see for herself because of her tragic eyewear. The way she spoke was as if she had forgotten just a few minutes earlier that she had asked them a question for them to respond. "But anyway... This is more important, because I'm not going to let my team down. Are you?" One could ask what she was rambling on about.

It seemed she regained her train of thought just enough. "I'm going to give out a Mission to someone and it's this simple so listen closely lovelies: Infiltrate Spirited Away! Ohoho~!" She gave a matronly laugh as if the thought of something so unconventional tickled her. She tried to sip her tea after that, but she missed her mouth and ended up knocking her snout. It took her a moment to get over the minor mishap.

She finally set her tea on the ground, with a huff. "Anyway, go in, spy on them, and find out what their big gimmick is for today. We have to be on alert and such and such, do it before 8 AM and da da-da da da..."

She drifted off. After a moment of silence, she snorted a little as she actually woke herself up. Peppermint clearly wasn't doing her any good.

"... What? Oh, gracious, look." She pointed her hand at the space between Samuel and Rina, effectively pointing at the corner of a shelf some ways off and not anyone in particular. "The Kecleon." She meant to point at Varien. "You do the Mission because you can blend in with their dusty walls. Everyone else--" She yawned. "--Nn, everyone else, come in closer:"

She had everyone huddled in as she spoke of today's plan.

"Uwah~ Okay... So that's that. Go do things. I..." She turned onto her side and let the plush bean bag engulf her just a little more. "I need my power nap. Don't wake me up. Now work. Chop chop!"

You received the Mission:
Infiltrate the other store!

Rina the Chimecho ~ Forget-Me-Not

chimecho.gif

Location: Forget-Me-Not; a few paces from Beanbag Corner
Mentions: Amaryllis, (offhand) Sam
Held Item: Basket of accessories (minus thimble)
Status: Consumed with outrage
The floral-fashioned leader's actions had been utterly unanticipated; the speckled Chimecho was left utterly affronted by Amaryllis' behavior. The look of abhorrence sprawled on Rina's polished face was incontestable. The Chimecho asked herself, where was the tactful, forthright fae she'd regarded with admiration before? And when had this appalling diva, who had treated her so flippantly, who had spoken so contemptuously to her, who had turned up her powdery snout at Rina's humble offerings with not even a second glance, when did this Amaryllis take the original's place? Surely Rina had not been mistaken. Surely her father hadn't been right about the shabby Spirited-Away. In bewilderment, she stammered and stumbled over maladroit phrases that would not come together to form a competent comeback in time before the Florges was already waving Rina and her coworker away. Heavy-heartedly she obliged to Amaryllis' demands, floating off elsewhere with her tail dragging and her supplies in tow.

Rina's next line of action became unclear. Scheming was made much more difficult when her original plot of attracting phrase had flopped and while her head was clogged with indignance. That Amaryllis… That Amaryllis! How dare she, how dare she!

The Chimecho dawdled off further into the store, underneath the wall-lining shelves. There she appeared to float feverishly, back and forth, turned from the carpeted corner embellished in beanbag chairs where the thimble still lay, long abandoned. Rina glared ahead at nothing and trembled slightly in a non-existent breeze, murmuring malevolent phrases in spirit-talk once more and wallowing in her vexation. Meanwhile, she stayed oblivious to the whereabouts and pursuits of her remaining cohort.

Gabriel
The Attention He Needs

Gabriel couldn't help but hold in his breath as another employee raised her hand. He wasn't fast friends with any of the others, so it took him a while to remember the fox's name. Blair. The Weavile couldn't help but twitch a bit as she too asked to be placed on the mission. Gabriel wondered if two people would be allowed to go on this mission. If that was the case, then what if he did amazing during it and Blair just stole his credit? He had seen that way too many times in the past, and the mere thought of stealing his hard work caused the dark-type's hands to curl up into fists.

And then something amazing happened.

Castiel looked to be glaring at her. Gabriel's heart caught in his chest. He couldn't quite tell what the ghost was thinking. Was he angry with her? Was he just looking her over to see if she was capable of fulfilling the task he had? Thankfully, his fears were put to rest with as Castiel complimented him. HIM!! The Weavile let out a relieved sigh as it became apparent that he had impressed Castiel enough to be handed the mission. And it sounded rather simple to the Weavile. Get in, see what you could find out about their plans, and get out before you were caught.

Yet… it reminded him of something he had tried to leave behind. The Weavile gulped nervously at the idea of essentially breaking into another's property. Just the mere thought of breaking the rules caused his heart to skip a beat within his chest. No, it wasn't like those other times! This was just business. Those other times he had done some bad things. This was just getting in and looking around. No harm whatsoever!

Gabriel felt a small smile form along his face as Castiel called him capable. Maybe it was just due to how eager he was to work today? It looked like he could become a favorite of Castiel, especially if he managed to do a good job on the mission. And then came something else. The other plan. Throughout it all Gabriel just nodded his head and kept his eyes on Castiel as he spoke, but he was a bit distracted as his mind already began to plan how he would complete his mission. He had tried his hardest to stay away from any kind of temptation and now all of the thoughts he had done his best to suppress were now bursting forth. Multiple ideas formed within the confines of his mind, ideas that would surely help him complete his mission.

"Now, get to work!"

That was his cue. Gabriel just gave a small nod toward Castiel and opened the hatch, soon disappearing into it. He had a mission, so best to use every second he had to complete it. Right before he made his way back into the alleyway he gradually raised the hatch to peer out, just to make sure no one was around to watch him. It was best at the start to leave as little evidence that he was snooping around Forget-Me-Not, including that of witnesses. Even if the other store discovered that someone had broken in they wouldn't be able to figure out WHO had infiltrated. Starting at this point, he was going to be an invisible Weavile.

Mission: Infiltrate Spirited Away

Varien observed the other characters in the room. The Chimecho seemed affected by Amaryllis ignoring her, even though her reaction was minute. He was half-listening, half-observing the Chimecho. He didn't know her name yet, but he knew she was going to be difficult to side with, especially with the next decision their boss made.

So far Amaryllis was blabbering about infiltrating the opposing shop, a mission clearly for him. She pointed somewhere, then mentioned Varien, as the Kecleon. One day she'll regret that. I'll call her "Florges" and see how she likes it... Despite his irritation, he kept his cool, already thinking about what he had to do and how he could do it. Infiltrating the opposing shop should indeed be easy; she was right.

Turning back to the Florges, Varien nodded. He had a little under two hours, to go in, find out what they intended to do, then get out, all unseen. As it wouldn't take him long, Varien figured he'd get to know his acquaintances, looking to get names at the very least.

When he looked back to his right, the Chimecho had already stormed off. With a sigh, he looked to his other side, at the Bidoof, probably waiting for Amaryllis to say something else. The Kecleon extended an arm, almost hesitating. I have to work with ... these folk ... before I can rise up.

"Varien," he said with a smile and sharp tone. He wanted to be confident and smart, yet not conceited. His efforts were probably wasted against a Bidoof, though.

Silver

Silver's claws clicked softly on the hard ground as she walked on her way to work. On any other day she would be still sleeping in bed, preferably till at least ten, later if she could manage it. On any normal day she would be working the afternoon then closing up the shop at night, but her boss had made it abundantly clear that she could volunteer to pick up some more hours today if she wanted, and essentially said it was expected that she would in her boss' not so subtle way. So here she was, walking to work, grumbling to herself. She didn't hate mornings, and this one seemed especially good. The moon was still out, and a slight fog hung to the ground making the air feel damp and cool. Two stores before the corner store where she worked she ducked into the alleyway that ran behind them, and continued walking until she came to the doorway to her destination.

She climbed up through the hatch into the storage room, a windowless stuff place filled with shelves upon shelves of products, more often than not failed products that didn't sell, and so they got stored here. Like the dozen candles her boss had lit, making the room even stuffier and overloading all her senses with the overpoweringly strong smell of peppermint. She joined her other employees as the boss began to talk in his usual grumbly and grumpy manner.

At least the first half of the speech she only half listened. He was being melodramatic again. He might have used the peppermint candles to invigorate them, but she had always thought that the boss always had a dramatic flair to him. He probably would have been happy to join a theatre troupe or something acting as some mysterious bad guy. Then again, maybe not. She perked up though when Castiel got down to business and started talking about plans for the day, including a special mission…

"You got me boss," she piped up, along with the other employees, "whatever we're doing, I'm with ya!"

The boss nodded and laid out his first plan for the day. It was just as convoluted and strange as his plans always were, but she had expected nothing less from him. "Well," she started out, "I don't really see how that'll help that much, but I'm sure you know best boss!" She looked around in thought for a moment, then a lightbulb lit up in her mind. "Oh! Hey, remember when those faux silk scarves went into fashion a few months back, and then died out just as quickly? Do we still have some of those maybe? Ooh, and some more candles! Although I think red would be better, do we have any of those? Hmm, what else…" Her eyes darted from place to place in the storage room searching for more materials to use.

Samuel the Bidoof
399.png

Mission: "Make Some Friends!"

Samuel let out a small sigh and slowly lowered his head. He wanted a mission, some excitement, some action! But, for now, he would have to make friends. No biggie, he was great at making friends. He thought himself a social butterfly, a star among planets, a jewel among stones! Adored, revered and respected. Well, perhaps he did not think that high of himself, but in his little world, he was as charismatic as a Bidoof could get. He thought of making the first move in introducing himself to the Chimecho. But what would he say? He began running the scenario through in his head.

Samuel: "Hey there! The name is Samuel, pleased to meet you! If you need any help, I'll be around, yup!"

Rina: "Oh Samuel! You sweetheart!"

The scenario seemed just about right. Well, considering the fact most of his encounters were with his relatives and parents, it may have not been 100% accurate, but he was sure it would work out. So he sucked his belly in, making absolutely no difference in his physique, flashed a smile and walked towards Rina. However, before he could utter a word, his blood began pumping. She looked at him with that never changing expression, drilling a hole in his skull. He tried to get the words out, but it fell flat, sounding less like the words of a charismastic and outgoing debonair and more like childish blabber.

"h-ee-y i-m -s s-am--oo-" he said before being waved over by the Keckleon, Varien.

Samuel was relieved. Though Varien was intimidating, he was definitely less so than Rina.

"H-Hallo! My name is Samuel! Samuel that's my name, yup!" Samuel said.

He nailed the whole friend thing.

Nailed the coffin on it, that is.

Mission: Infiltrate Spirited Away

This Bidoof is such an idiot... Varien could only confirm he really was at the bottom of the food chain in this town. Samuel didn't even acknowledge the hand, somehow making Varien look like the goof, holding his hand in the air. He shook his hand like a delayed wave, and kept it at his side.

He really didn't want to continue the conversation. Feeling his spirits lift and light-headedness sway around in his head, Varien nodded at the Bidoof (a mistake in hindsight), then made for the door, only a few paces away.

The air was still cold outside, the sun barely peaking over the horizon, not enough to fully illuminate the streets. He altered his skin colour to that of the outside brickwork and ground below, a colour invisible to the observing eye. Varien briskly crawled to the alley between Spirited Away and it's adjacent neighbouring shop, disappearing into the darkness.

Varien now pressed himself against the wall, side-stepping to the corner, quickly peaking out then reeling back. He took a deep breathe, then slid around, stopping to the left of the frontdoor, passing windows quickly. Very, very, slowly, he rotated and inched in front of the door, pressing an ear, ready to jump away. He closed his eyes and focused his hearing, letting his thoughts wander a little.

How long until someone comes out? I'll be noticed if they open the door, camouflage or not.

I'll wait another few minutes, then examine the rest of the shop. There could be an open window or someone coming to put fixtures.
And so he waited, just for a few more minutes, waiting...

Spirited Away
5:16 AM | Supply Room

EtbhL2l.png

"You will see how it works when our sales lift by double, Silver!" Castiel quipped rather contentedly, not bothering to look over his shoulder at the atypically small Absol. He was halfway out the doorway when Silver began to muse aloud, the just-as-small cogs in her head turning quickly as she began to figure for the project. She has had a longer tenure under the Mismagius than some of her greener coworkers, and it showed.

He turned around now to fully face her. "What's this? Racking the brain about what's on the racks? Now this is the head start into production that's the spirit of Spirited Away!"

Silver earned +1 Favor!
That's the spirit of Spirited Away!

The Ghost smoothly glided by Silver and Kaze. Glancing over the two of them, he made the internal note that red neck accessories must be trending. I should have dyed those scarves red. I would have been ahead of the curve. Floating in front of him was his own green candle, shedding a soft, glowing light over the shelves as he gleaned them over.

At least pink cloaks are always in season.

"I do have some of those scarves, I recall, but I don't remember where I chucked them. We have a box of those left, somewhere. Not too many. I'd say about ten left, probably no more than fifteen. I'd put them up myself but even imitation silk can't whisk away sweat fast enough the way I heard it'll get hot, sometime today." He looked up a few shelves higher. "And as for candles..." Being the supernatural mass that he is, he willed himself higher off the ground and peered at the high shelf. He found an extra stock of a six pack of seance candles, three pairs in the colors red, green, and black. They were also scented. Peppermint.

"Well, may as well use these. I only have two of these packs, I hope." The candle packs glowed faintly and seemed to tip themselves right off the edge of the rack, not so much falling as they appeared to be set down by some invisible hand. They set themselves down in front of the closed yet unlocked hatch that Gabriel the Weavile just crept his way into a few minutes earlier.

"Anything else, feel free to rummage through supplies on this side of the wall here, and not the other, everyone," he confirmed as he descended back to their level, his strongly-scented candle floating right beside him. "But remember you need a foundation as well. I don't mind what you use for that as long as it's sturdy and stable, alright? We also have to do a few decorations out on the main floor, but those can wait for right now. Now, whoever is coming with me to clean up, bring yourself a broom, dust pan, and a feather duster, and start sweeping out there."

With that, he headed out the Supply Room door like a smooth breeze.

Now onto the main floor itself, it was much different than the Supply Room, if only because there was more space to organize the goods in a presentable manner. The walls had a stylized wave-like pattern of a darker and cool color. The aisles were stocked with anything and everything from bitter medicinal powders and serums packaged and bottled to interesting stationary and natural toiletries. Shelves on the wall held incense for purchase, divination kits and decorative scrolls, and empty vials and beakers for the aspiring apothecary. On the wall opposite of the check out counter was a bookcase almost as large, sporting books from thin novels of world mythology to tomes of incomplete encyclopedic references, there for perusing and for sale.

On the wall behind the counter, there were two shelves that cased full sets of unique tarot cards in near-mint conditions. Below them, hanging in a case behind glass and atop velvet were an array of small charms, all different shapes and colors, made from materials like paper, wood, rock, and metal. All of these items were propped up on either side of a door that had a sign reading "Manager Only".

Forget-Me-Not
5:16 AM | Main Floor

As the Florges continued to slowly sink into her giant bean bag while she laid there silent, presumably asleep, elsewhere in the store there was work to be done. To the right of the bean bags was the counter for check out. Sitting on a stool behind one of the antique-fashioned registers was a large cardboard box, one of its flaps lifted with a sheet of paper taped to it. The paper read in big black marker, "Decorations". Within, there was an assortment of items: decorative window applique in the shape of flowers, twiggy wreaths bare for decoration, sale sign wire stands with a slim yet quirky frame, a few rolls of patterned wrapping paper, unique streamers made of threaded potpourri, and so much more. All things to spruce up the store more.

That wasn't to say the store wasn't well furnished in its own right. The walls had a quaint, subtle floral wallpaper of a light and warm color. There were aisles with racks of a wide assortment of flowers to singularly pluck, and other aisles with just as wide a variety of merchandise, from magazines and books on gardening and etiquette, to organic long life snack foods wrapped in saran and tied with ribbon, to fancy greeting cards and fragrant toiletries. Shelves on the wall held candles for purchase, picture frames and decorative signs to cozy up a house, and little vases of different shapes and designs. On the wall opposite of Check Out hung small canvasses of oil and acrylic paintings, their subjects such things as gardens and bowls of fruit, in a variety of styles, all of them signed by an "Amaryllis" with a distinct little symbol at the end.

On the wall behind the counter, there were two shelves of unique little clay sculptures and wood carvings of figures. Below them, propped up on hanging wire grid racks were gorgeous bouquets of flowers, known and strange, wrapped in complimentary tissue papers and ribbons. All these things were propped up on either side of a door with a sign on it that read "Manager Only".

The walls otherwise, windows, and ceiling--if not for little hooks--had much to be desired.

The Boulevard
5:16 AM | Somewhere nearby

Though it was soft, the sound of hefty steps and the scratch of something against road rang clearly through the silence. There was a presence on the Boulevard this early in the morning, but looking out onto the street, there was no one to be seen, or at least, not so easily. In this case, it seems to be coming from the direction of a nearby back alley, though on which side of the street is yet to be discerned.

One would find out if they waited one minute longer, but is that minute going to cost them?

Rina the Chimecho ~ Forget-Me-Not

chimecho.gif

Location: Forget-Me-Not; a few paces from Beanbag Corner
Mentions: Samuel, Varien
Held Item: Basket of accessories (minus thimble)
Status: Offended again
Rina's reaction to her coworker's act of amicability came delayed as, about the time when he approached her, the Chimecho was reveling in the imagery of a Florges' wreath set ablaze and how, possibly, such a scenario could be recreated. Of course, through gasoline, but where would Amaryllis have the gasoline? Actually, perhaps the fire I can set myself if I can get the 'words' accurate…

But Rina was soon interrupted from her enlightening contemplation, which at first irked her, but the Chimecho realized the affable expression on her little brown cohort's face and settled down immediately. Appearance-wise, he was certainly interesting—his floral tie a burst of color and kitschy print. But, most embarrassingly, Rina had little clue what the chubby, mammalian creature was. It was always these foreign Pokemon that smelled of mountain region and chilled air that she could never identify, and because of this she decided to smile—as best as a stiffly-faced and still-eyed amorphous 'mon could manage—and wait for a reply; it was her coworker that had first approached her, anyhow. Not to mention she greatly appreciated, after Amaryllis' frightful display, that someone in this store wasn't about to ignore her. At this point, however, he still hadn't said anything. And Rina saw he wasn't smiling anymore either. In fact, he looked quite frightened himself before he acknowledged—or pretended to acknowledge—a call to action elsewhere and scampered off.

Rina was left stunned underneath the store shelf, her peer's heel turn having hit her already-battered pride like a Fell Stinger. In that brief moment, he had proven to be yet another contemptible idiot refusing her the least bit of respect. Now the plodding, stump-legged dunce had gone wattling off to a garishly-colored someone-or-other who sat perched upon their floppy beanbag throne with their arm sticking out at their side like a slow Sudowoodo. The Chimecho watched their sloppy exchange with anger-driven detachment as she was too concerned with sorting out her personal woe than bother with the dealings of her coworkers.

Why did he run off!? What had scared him, that doofus!? And she suddenly felt slightly insecure. Had he noticed a fateful blemish on her glassy face, a horrifically-ugly mark or scar or chip, was that why he had made an excuse to talk to the Kecleon and not her? At the very least, her one-of-many insults had sparked the Chimecho's remembrance. Doofus… doof… Bidoof. Thank goodness for that, as Rina had not been shy of giving in and addressing him as "Buneary".

Either way, the purple-colored Kecleon had stepped out for an unperceived reason, meaning "Samuel" was left all to the mercy of a very peeved Rina. She decided drifting around whilst the impertinent little tie-wearer sat in-between the beanbags was but a wasted opportunity. If providing the courtesy was beyond him, she would have to force it out—ignoring, for the time being, that it may had been her own lack of presentability that had sent him elsewhere:

"HEY! BIDOOF WITH THE TIE! GET BACK OVER HERE!" Her voice reverberated throughout the open store.

Mission: Infiltrate Spirited Away

Varien couldn't hear a thing. Was that the breeze? Someone walking down the street? The kingpin himself coming to take out Varien sooner rather than later? He could only guess, unable to really hear anything inside the shop. Kecleons weren't known for superior hearing, special skills stopping at camouflage, which was useful enough for this mission.

Keeping his movements slow, he pulled away from the door, taking one, two, three steps to a window, peering through a slither the blind didn't cover, making sure his strip was below the pane. The shop was impressively decorated, even if Varien didn't have the eye for it he could tell time and effort had gone into the presentation. Come to think of it, he didn't really pay attention to Forget-Me-Not. Not as much as he should have.

The shelves were lined with herbal things Varien either couldn't make out or didn't know the actual name of. He wasn't trying to read the merchandise anyway. A medium size purple Pokemon floated by, from a door at the back towards the right of the store. It was a ghost, probably the employer from how he surveyed the shop and the fact he headed towards the check-out.

Varien lowered his head so his eyes were only just able to see in. If he's right there, I can't sneak in through the front... Unless... As the idea struck the Kecleon, visible yellow colouration flourished from the top of his head, soon covering his whole body. Varien was still for a moment, his face turning a slightly pink colour, before he ducked under the window, puffing out air. That was close...

In fear that the purple Pokemon might have seen him, Varien crawled to the side of the shop, standing fully when he stepped into the slightly darker alleyway between shops. His colours reverted to normal as he placed his hands on his knees, gulping for air. It's okay... It's okay... They didn't see me... Rising up, Varien peered around the corner, then returned to the slight shadow and sat, one hand pressed to his head.

Should I wait until someone steps out? No, that will take too long. Should I check the back? I'm here now, and I don't know where his employees are... Oh! Still unable to keep the yellow from covering himself, Varien stood, then camouflaged himself again, walking towards the front door, keeping his stripe low. When at the door, he knocked, then scurried back to his place in the alleyway, being sure to sink into the shadows, invisible to most, ready to charge forward into the shop if the door was opened.

Well, that started off with a smashing start. Ok, maybe Blair was a little rude with sighing and whatnot, but really, its 5 am, she hadn't had any of her little awakening herbs to deal in the morning and it wasn't her fault that she had the gall to be exasperated with little petty drama. Not one to let a slight against her go unabated, what with that little tee-hee, I'm-so-cheeky remark by Castiel, especially not in front of the other people that she had to work with for this soon-to-be chaotic day, she had fought so hard not to make a snarky comeback and an ugly look; she already seemed to have irked the boss a little, and as a fellow connoisseur of magic (which is the only thing "saving" Castiel from such a remark), she held her tongue and ugly looks under a façade of aloof disinterest.

Whatever. She was going have to work with these people, so might as well try and talk with them. To be honest, it wasn't the workers that were gonna be a problem at this place, it would be trying not to be salty given Blair's brash, moody nature and her…interesting social skills, in which she would take out on someone if she isn't careful.

But enough about that, there was that secret mission they were given. Now, that was indeed something she can get behind! Now the question was, whatever shall she do? Of course, given her experience in this sort of thing, she could always aid in the decoration of it. But alas, that would have to wait until it was built, which, to Blair, was the least fun part. Sighing, she searched the supply room for some tables to build a base for their little project, happening upon two foldable tables to build it on. Weighing about 30 pounds or so and made of white plastic, the tables didn't seem all that alluring for setting it up, but at least seemed sturdy.

Man, why do tables have to be so heavy. My back is gonna be killing me later! Ay, why can't I have some muscle to help me with this crap?

Lamenting how she had no one else to help her, she lifted one of them with her skinny arms, struggling to drag it over to unfold it to check the dimensions. After unfolding the table, she did a mental calculation and assumed the tables to be about 5 feet long and 2 feet wide. Thinking that this was enough for the job, she began to place the table in the corner of the store, huffing and puffing the entire time. After leaving the table in the corner, she went over to see what Silver was doing. Blair called out to her and said, "'Ey, Silver! I gotta base over here for our little project. If ya don't mind me asking, what is that'cha doing anyways? Something about scarves?"

Gabriel
The Attention He Needs

On the one hand, Gabriel felt his curiosity starting to soar when he heard the sounds of footsteps. His body instinctively froze up. Gabriel could either wait it out and make sure that this presence left the alley before he made his way to the other store, or he could get going now. If he waited, then it was highly possible that whoever was nearby would just spend his, or her, sweet time making
their way through the area and costing Gabriel valuable time. The Weavile grit his teeth and pushed up through the tunnel.

He turned about quickly and closed the hatch shut, a bit of a metallic ring echoing out as Gabriel silently cursed at himself for making some noise. His eyes snapped about, soon laying upon some garbage that lay nearby in a can. Thinking even faster he reached in and threw some out on the ground and over the hatch. His next move was to quickly climb up the alley wall and push himself into the shadows that were still cast over the land. His natural black fur coloring would greatly aid him in being unseen, but that still didn't help to quiet the sound of his hear racing.

... This. This was the old rush that he had been missing!

Despite the seriousness of possibly being discovered he couldn't help but feel a grin stretch across his lips. The adrenaline rush was causing him to twitch slightly as he continued to hide. Would he be discovered? Would he not be? Such questions only caused his blood to pump faster and faster. He had enough self control to not burst out into giddy laughter. He felt an itch along his body, an itch that told him to get moving. He just hoped whoever was coming through would do it quickly. He had places to be!
