Pokémon TCG: World Championships 2007

The Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships are now underway for 2007 (and have been for two days now) - and at the time of writing, we're down to the final four.

JUNIOR DIVISION
Jun Hasebe (JP)
Andrew Choong (AU)
Paul Atanassov (CA)
Hiroki Yano (JP) (Defending Champion)

SENIOR DIVISION
Akira Miyazaki (JP)
Alexander DaCosta (CA)
Jeremy Scharff-Kim (US)
Wataru Hasegawa (JP)

MASTERS DIVISION
Tsuguyoshi Yamato (JP)
Tom Roos (FI)
Steffen From (DK)
Yuki Akimura (JP)

As for notable players, defending champion Jason Klaczynski ended up 30th in the Masters Division, and Jeremy Maron (3rd last year) was 31st. Jimmy Ballard, the runner-up last year, did not finish, and lost all three of his played matches. Tsuguyoshi Yamato, to note, was previously also a World Champion.

In the Senior Division, defending champion Miska Saari got to the Top 8 before losing to Akira Miyazaki, who was the only player to go undefeated in Swiss (6-0). Geoffry Sauk also made it to the Top 8 before losing to Wataru Hasegawa, with Benjamin Sauk losing after making the Top 16.

I may have time to update for the Top 2 in some divisions. If not, check this topic out in...say ten hours from the post time.

Interesting. It would be better if whe knew what decks they use or at least what their overall theme/type is. But I'm sure we will know later on.
