Another wacky team experiment
This time I think I've outdone myself :o
I thought up this one while I was at work yesterday and today. EDIT on Aug. 15 @ 23:08: Pretty much skewered the whole team =/ Registeel @ Leftovers ** Tony Stark Ability: Clear Body EVs: 208 HP / 80 Atk / 84 Def / 136 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -SDef) - Thunder - Iron Head - Stealth Rock - Rest Special Tank + Normal Resist + Stealth Rock Support. Blastoise @ Leftovers ** King Koopa Ability: Torrent EVs: 216 HP / 76 Atk / 136 Def / 80 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Aqua Jet - Rapid Spin - Earthquake - Substitute A peculiar, yet completely custom Blastoise. Physical (-ish) Tank. Gengar @ Leftovers / Life Orb ** Klug 2.0 Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Hypnosis - Shadow Ball - Thunderbolt - Focus Blast More normal resist + Ground resist. Perhaps he should go with a more Sp. Sweeper job. Electivire @ Life Orb ** Hulk Hogan Ability: Motor Drive EVs: 252 Atk / 180 Spd / 76 SAtk Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef) - Earthquake / Cross Chop - Thunderbolt - Ice Punch - Fire Punch A huge downgrade from Garchomp I might say, but it just might get the job done, knowing that I don't need Choice Scarf to operate him. Swampert @ Leftovers ** Baramos Ability: Torrent EVs: 240 HP / 40 Atk / 92 Def / 136 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rest - Sleep Talk - Avalanche / Waterfall / Stone Edge I obviously don't have any better ideas, and I really don't like this option. He's only there until I can think of something MUCH better. Gyarados @ Leftovers ** Armaggedon Ability: Intimidate EVs: 168 HP / 156 Atk / 8 Def / 176 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Earthquake - Waterfall - Ice Fang / Stone Edge STILL the best rapper alive. Yes, I am perfectly aware of the big throbbing Heracross weakness in my team. I'll be working on that in the future. Also, expect daily updates to this team. This is probably going to be a team that I actually build for Wi-Fi Play. Okay, aragornbird and Samson, you may now proceed to rip this team to shreds. Thank you :) |
you need garchomp to have fire blast.. or maybe flare blitz
|
Garchomp can't get Flare Blitz. Fire Blast, I'll have to think on it. Don't see a Strong need for it since it's running off of Choice Scarf and Adamant Nature.
I might consider using it, depending on whether or not I obtain more Skarm counters since Gengar is my only one. |
Registeel: Sure, but I'd take exposion over rest. =\
Blastoise: Don't see the use of Substitute here. Too slow to absorb status, No Focus Punch, no 101 subs. Gengar: Black Sludge or Choice Specs please. Garchomp: Fire Blast over Stone Edge or Crunch. Pick one. Why you're not using outrage is a mystery to me. Metagross smacking you up while you're using Outrage? Roserade: Roserade doesn't cut it defensive wise. You need Focus Sash, not life orb. Leaf Storm over Energy Ball. Gyarados: Taunt over Earthquake/Ice Fang. Overall, Starmie rips apart your team. Blastoise: Thunderbolt Gengar: 1-2 Surfs should KO it. Garchomp: Ice Beam Roserade: Ice Beam Gyarados: Thunderbolt Really, any special sweeper rips through this team. |

Now, chances ARE, that I might replace Roserade with another Special Sweeper, then find something else that can put Aromatherapy to perfect use. Although I was considering Zapdos and putting him on Sleep Talking to Absorb Status, I already have a legendary, which is Registeel, which I heavily doubt that I'm dropping. So I'll be working on thinking of something to fit that role. Like I say, I will be updating this team at least once a day, so always stay tuned for what I might think of. |
Breloom has some decent speed. 100 Accuracy sleep. stab focus punch too.
|
Breloom has terrible speed for a physical sweeper o.0 He needs jask support.
|
Isn't breloom's base speed 70? I wouldn't call that fast. Still, it can be very effective. Spore+Focus Punch is a great combo.
|
registeel: even being used as a special wall, it gets walled by most steel types. metagross scares it away, skarmory sets spikes and whirlwinds, magnezone whittles registeel away with STAB tbolts, etc, etc. that's why careful is a bad nature on registeel: give it sassy. it needs thunderbolt + hammer arm/earthquake to maintain itself against threats. iron head isn't enough.
blastoise: with such low atk evs, there's really no point in substitute. you set a sub when they think you will use rapid spin which invites ghosts, and even then, aqua jet would still be a 3 or 4HKO. if you really plan on having blastoise as a bulky physical attacker, it can pull it off if you distribute the sp def evs into attack, and give it choice band. gengar: its attack ivs + evs + nature are not good enough to 2OHKO blissey. with that set up, its Atk stat reaches a pathetic 190 at lvl 100. you'll need +Atk nature as well at least 204 atk evs to do anything worth the run. besides, even with wide lens, hypnosis is quite unreliable. go with substitute instead of hypnosis and give it more attack evs with Lonely/Naughty nature. having a +speed nature with that many evs in speed is pointless if it's not 252 evs in speed to outrun threats. much less speed evs with a neutral spd nature is enough to scare away foes and set up a sub. scarf chomp is very common, but that ev spread on scarf chomp is NOT. it doesn't even need any speed evs with scarf, but to be safe, you should give it around 116 speed evs, and put the rest into HP and/or sp defense. you could also give it a Lonely/Naughty nature so that you can give it some sp atk evs for Fire Blast. roserade: if you REALLY think it is a special sweeper, i hate to say it, but it's pretty bad. get rid of aromatherapy for sleep powder, get HP Fire instead of Hp Ice, and go with Sludge Bomb. you may also consider choice specs for a surprise of a strong hit. give gyara Wacan berry. |
I said decent speed. And Breloom doesn't need Jask support to sweep.
But if he wants good speed, he should use either Ninetales (Base 100) or Crobat (Base 130) I'd go with Ninetales with Hypnosis, Nasty Plot, Fire Blast, Energy Ball. Holding Wide Lens of course. And btw, you CAN switch while you're using Outrage. Unless you stay to attack, gross won't walk over you. |
