advice needed

i need some advice, what good moves should i teach my infernape, gengar and kadabra so i can go through battle tower?

bradenm August 16th, 2007 12:16 AM

for infernape i recommend you teach it shadow claw, flare blitz, close combat and another move of ur choice

gengar: dark pulse, shadow ball, destiny bond and thunder (i think it learns it)

kadabra: thunder punch, psychic, ice punch, fire punch

Myoko-chan August 16th, 2007 12:43 AM

First of all, use the GTS glitch to evolve your Kadabra.

Now to tell you what to do with those pokemon.

Infernape
-Bulk Up
-Blaze Kick
-Brick Break
-Earthquake\Night Slash\Stone Edge

Gengar
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Focus Blast
-Sludge Bomb

Alakazam
-Calm Mind
-Psychic
-Focus Blast
-Recover\Shock Wave\Energy Ball

you do realise that the elemental punches are physical now right?

The Real AAA August 16th, 2007 1:41 AM

Infernape
  • Flare Blitz/Heat Wave
  • Close Combat
  • Thunderpunch
  • Earthquake/Stone Edge

Gengar
  • Shadow Ball
  • Hypnosis
  • Thunderbolt
  • Focus Blast/Energy Ball

Alakazam
  • Psychic
  • Trick/Energy Ball
  • Focus Blast
  • Shadow Ball

Use AAA's movesets. the rest fail.

eruptingtorkoal August 16th, 2007 6:17 AM

I would not teach the elemental punches to an Alakazam anymore due to them being physical moves and well ... Alakazam sucks in the attack stat.

Use special moves for gengar and alakazam and to add veriation use your Infernape as a physical sweeper with move types that your gengar and alakazam don't have.

The veriation is the key in the battle tower cause you could be up against anything!

What's the point in saying that? They post here for help, not to get put down by you. If they want help, let them have help. Yeah, go with AAA.

Nightofshadow August 16th, 2007 8:15 AM

That isnt a put down, thats a legit question. Man you people have a very hard time with context....

Always and Never August 16th, 2007 8:20 AM

You have a hard time accepting that you have to respect other members.

Nightofshadow August 16th, 2007 10:47 AM

I dont respect disrespectful members such as yourself. As you said before, You stay out of my way and ill stay out of yours.

Faceless* August 16th, 2007 10:57 AM

Ill give you the move commonly used moveset for Infernape

Infernape
Item : Life Orb
Moves :
Flamethrower
Grass Knot/Stone Edge
Close Combat
Nasty Plot

Anti August 16th, 2007 11:40 AM

The problem is you have some weaknesses. Two of your pokemon are weak to dark, ghost, and psychic type moves. An alakazam would hurt this team a lot. I know it's battle tower, but I believe they are EV trained, so watch out for that.

That may be more common, but 3 Special Sweepers are going to fail when it goes up against a Special Wall (Blissey/Milotic) both of which are prolific in battle tower

Try this instead

[email protected] Scarf/Life Orb
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Flare Blitz/Fire Punch

The last move is on preference whether you care about the recoil damage caused by Flare Blitz. Running a choice scarf gives more freedom to beef it's defence/HP
