President Ronald Reagan dies at the age of 93

President Reagan died today at the age of 93. I didn't know much about him, but I'm sure he was a great president, and I am saddened by the loss of the former president...

So sad. He was president when I was born.

Jess just gave me the link, and I read some of article. I had a vision he was going to die soon, I was thinking it would happen and it would be all over the news...

Latios Master June 5th, 2004 1:25 PM

Ronald Reagon died?! That's really sad. He was the president when I was born too. I never knew he was 93 years old. I thought he was in his 80's or something. I should check to see what they say on the news tonight. It's really sad that he died. :(

Aww, my mom just told me. That's really sad. From what I've heard, he was a very good president. His wife was a good person too; she did a lot to support him. Even though he had alzheimers, (Did I spell that right?) it's still sad.

Latios Master June 5th, 2004 1:36 PM

I just checked to see if anything was on TV, and there is a special on ABC about it right now. I don't see it on any other channel though. :(

:sob:

Reagan was a great person and president alike.

I'm just shocked by this tragic loss. :'(

*Wonders if the Flames/Lightning game will get cancelled*

It's been just over a decade since the last presidential death. (Richard Nixon, 4/22/94, exactly a month before my dad turned 35.)

Kayleigh June 5th, 2004 1:38 PM

It's on just about every news station. Try channel 360 (If you have satellite). That's Fox news, and they seem to be telling a lot about it. Atleast, they were when I went downstairs a minute ago. I don't know about now, but most likely...

I was watching Fox News when they told about this. To me Ronald Reagon was the best president of the 20th Century. He was liked by so many people. And he did great things when he was the president. I was also born when he was the president. This is a real sad day.

+el_pal June 5th, 2004 4:41 PM

I just was watching the news when I saw the news about his death. I had recenlty visisted the Ronald Reagan library here in California when he was still alive. This day IS sad.

Yeah, he was a really good president. He was one of those presidents whom would've been voted for a third term into office but that's against the American consititution so lol. Ach, I forgot everything else about him... lol.

Farewell, Reagon!

This is really sad. I didn't know a whole lot about Reagan... but he was a good president. I was also born while he was president. I'm not sure if there is anything in the Constitution about 3 terms... but I know that it was a tradition to only hold two terms because Washington only took two terms. But I oculd be wrong... civics isn't my best class...

x_x Yeah, I'm not sure if it's in the American consititution or not anymore now that you say that... But I do know the Americans made some kind of rule forbidding the same President from running for a third term for office after Roosevelt died in 1945. The Americans had this fear of someone staying in office for too long.

I could be wrong too... I'm barely getting a C- in my civics class. But I recall my teacher explaining the presidential terms. I think he said something like the only president to hold three terms was Roosevelt... but only because of the war and everything. I'm not sure if the constitution states that they can't have more than two or not... maybe there's an amendment or somrthing about it. I don't really know. But I know that they wanted to only have two because Washington only took two terms. It's something like that... but like I said... I could be wrong...

Yes. He was the first and last president to be voted in for a third term... it's sad how he died before the war was over. The Cold War just might've been avoided if he survived for just another year IMO. I'm not about to refute political history though. >=p All I know is how poorly Hitler did in WW2 and where he screwed up big time.

Eliana June 5th, 2004 5:34 PM

I just found out.....It IS very sad..... I mean A president! it doesnt happen every day :(

Chairman Kaga June 5th, 2004 5:35 PM

There actually is a constitutional amendment that bans a president from having more than two terms...it was enacted by President Eisenhower back in the 50s :P

+el_pal June 5th, 2004 5:35 PM

Too bad he died without knowing that he was a president. He died not knowing who his wife was.

I actually did think there was an amendment about it or something. But this goes to show how well I do in civics. Okay, so there is an amendment... that's good to know cuz I wasn't sure! I knew it wasn't in the original constitution though. And I was too lazy to get my book to check up on this...

22sa June 5th, 2004 5:51 PM

Whatever the original consititution was... I think I like it better. XD

Geometric-sama June 6th, 2004 4:27 AM

Oh, so that's who that old dude was. I saw him on the news tonight, but didn't catch his name. LOL, I hope he was a good president, I wouldn't know - we don't have presidents here, only really stupid PMs XD
